Do yourself a favor. Come here after sunset. It’s so much better. The whole place is nicely lit. People still walk around after 10pm. Be careful when climbing on ledge to get better view of the city though.

This bridge is among the top tourist attractions in Verona. It is linked to the nearby Castle Vecchio and spans the Adige river. It is a unique fortified bridge built in the fourteenth century. The bridge and the castle tower were destroyed by the retreating German troops at the end of World War II and were restored in the 1950s

A magnificent bridge over the Adige River constructed mostly with red brick, typical for Scaliger era landmarks. It stands massive in front of your eyes. You immediately teleport to medieval times and start imaging the fair knights on horses, swords and bows, the medieval battles. Destroyed completely in WWII by retreating german troops, it was reconstructed after the war to resemble the original as much as possible.

What an amazing medieval bridge, it’s very well kept, it’s been restored and renovated. It’s in very good condition and it’s definitely very fascinating. Very educational and interesting, it has a museum located inside the castle. Which has an armoury and several statues and artifacts in and around the grounds. This is a very lovely bridge. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

One of, if not the most beautiful places I've witnessed. Don't sleep on it, it's an absolute must-do in Verona. Romantic, beautiful, clean, and breathtaking during the sunset.

I visted the bridge during the day and at night and it worth visiting. Walking in the bridge give a beautiful view on the river for both sides. At the end of the bridge you could go down to the left and go under the bridge where you can chill there. And there is a park with a small man-made lake, that children could play on it, at the other side of the bridge which you could have a picnic there. Worth visiting.

(Translated by Google) Really fascinating. I recommend going when the sky is clear because you appreciate much more the whole historical context set in a beautiful panorama of the river and the city of Verona. Obviously, it is mandatory to climb the stairs inside the bridge and take a nice selfie. (Original) Davvero affascinante.

Pedestrian bridge whose beauty is especially striking in the evening at sunset. Probably one of the biggest highlights in Verona, the old bridge connecting the castle to the arsenale. The architecture and red brick work is stunning. Many places to sit and look at the river and city views. Free to walk across of course.

This medieval style fortification bridge is very impressive. Rebuilt after WW2, with beautiful views and some stone beach areas around it. Worth visiting it also after sunset when it is lit up.

A marvelous bridge with views of Arco dei Gavi, Castelvecchio, Adige River and Verona. Be very careful going up to and down from the balconies as there are no guardrails and no handles to hold. It is a bridge not to be skipped.

A beautiful fortified medieval bridge in Castel vecchio (old castle) in Verona. The path next to the Adige River offers amazing views of the bridge and is a perfect spot for a walk and taking photos. The bridge was constructed during the 14th century, using red brick in the upper part and white marble in the lower one. You can't miss this when visiting Verona!

Possibly the most magnificent bridge I've ever seen! Part bridge, part castle, part fortress...absolutely beautiful and such great views up and down the river. We got some lovely photos from here. Would recommend.

The Ponte Scaligero and the Castelvecchio have the same ornate decoration across the top, which is spectacular and very unique. This is a must see when visiting Verona and easy to walk to from the Piazza Bra, where the Colosseum is located. Just follow Via Roma to get there. The bridge is also known as the Ponte di Castelvecchio and crosses the Adige River.

The views from this fortified bridge built in 1354 are spectacular It’s grandeur and evident strength is representative of the medieval period Take some amazing photos from this vantage point you will never forget. Add this to your must see when in glorious Verona

Built originally in the 14th century the Ponte Scaligero was destroyed during WW2 by retreating German Troops. The bridge was rebuilt between 1949 and 1951 using similar materials to the original construction. The architecture is unique, and is best viewed by walking from the opposite bank from the Castel Vecchio so that you approach across the river and through the ancient gateway in to the city.

Lovely old bridge with great lookout points for great views of the area. There are numerous names of couples who think it's fun to graffiti their names into this beautiful structure but that doesn't spoil the overall beauty of it. Worth a visit if you are nearby.

What a treat to visit Verona and able to walk across the Castelvecchio Bridge a couple of years ago while touring Northern Italy. The bridge crosses the Adige River. I try to imagine being alive during the Middle Ages and watching history unfold before my eyes. Wonderful structure with beautiful views. My aunt lived in this beautiful town before her passing.

A beautiful place to start a city tour. Relatively close you can find parking but most likely it will not be for free. The bridge is interesting to see from different angles. It is difficult to choose a moment for photos since there are a lot of people during summer.

This place was really cool. We had so much fun here taking pictures, watching the birds, listening to some music and so on. I would recommend everyone to see this place for sure when you are at Verona. The Castle vecchio bridge is also so beautiful. It had Christmas market when I visited. The texture of the bridge is so good- it's all bricks and you will see some names written on them. The place is really good to take pictures and you will see some cute corners. I will say you shall not miss to see this place. 💘

(Translated by Google) The most beautiful 14th-century bridge in Verona for me, was built (as part of the reconstruction of war damage) in the years 1949-1951. All fragments of the bridge blown up by the retreating Germans were carefully collected. They were used to rebuild it, additionally using the 14th-century construction technique. The effect is fantastic. This is again the 14th-century defensive Bridge over the Adige, leading to Castelvecchio Castle. Fortunately, the earlier damage done by Napoleon's army was not reconstructed. (Original) Ten najpiękniejszy dla mnie XIV-wieczny most w Weronie, został wybudowany (w ramach odbudowy zniszczeń wojennych) w latach 1949-1951. To znowu jest XIV-wieczny, obronny Most nad Adygą, wiodący do Zamku Castelvecchio. Wcześniejszych zniszczeń, dokonanych przez wojska napoleońskie, na szczęście nie zrekonstruowano.

The bridge retains a lot of its original feel - you can see the way it's supposed to protect the river and it keeps all of its medieval charm. As many bridges around the world, it boasts it's lover's locks, but in here they stay gates covering recesses to old windows, so in a very stable place with little chance of creating real structural damage. Being Verona, you can also find love notes on the walls and ledges, as in so many other places in the city. You can climb on the top part of the bridge for a beautiful view of the city and to make really charming pictures. What else can a tourist want?

Beautiful castle located directly on the river in Verona. Easy to access. Immensely impressive structure with daunting walls which could repel even the most heroic medieval invaders attempting to breach the castle walls Great photo opportunity on the bridge connecting both sides of the river. Be sure to go early to get the best lighting from the rising Verona sun Final take...Go and incorporate a visit here with a full walk along the river.

Nice, authentic bridge, which was rebuilt after 2. world war demolition ... Definitely some cool photo spots there 👍

Nice but lots of tourists. Certainly cross the bridge to see the castle and to visit the higher part of town. Free crossing. 4g coverage is good

This is one of those place that you shall not miss. Make sure you spend some good time here and especially on the bridge. Museum is not free of charge but inside you can go and check the castle. Bridge is super amazing.

This is a must see if you are in Verona, it was the highlight to our trip apart from the arena, you can stop off and sit and gaze out onto the river at the little alcoves along the way and when you get to the other side you can go down to the beach or take amazing photos overlooking the bridge. Most probably there's a good sunset view from here but we ran out of time

Nice old bridge connected to the castle. On the bridge itself you can only barely see above the walls, but there are elevated ledges along the whole bridge and on the towers. These have no safety fences, so it's potentially a bit dangerous, but with a little care no problem. Certainly the nicest way to cross the river!

Old, well preserved bridge, nice view ☺️ Loved the clock on one of the towers leading up to it.

A historical castle built on river in Verona.. It was restored by pietro gazzola after it suffered major blows in ww2 (need to confirm further) The best view is near the sunset from the opposite river bank

Free bridge with arrow cut outs, walls to scale and windows to peel out of. Great photos on and around the bridge. I would go again.

Beautiful ancient bridge. We used the bridge as access way between our parking and Arena di Verona.
