A very strong 5 ⭐️. We had a great time at McCarthy’s. The service is efficient and fast. The drinks and food very to our taste. We loved the nachos, chicken wings and fish&chips. The ambiance is authentic. Lastly, the value for money is fair.

All cities have "irish" pubs, but this one, for a Brit, really is one of the genuinely closest experiences to a home pub. It has many classics for a proper pub, but the Fish and Chips was simply put one of the best I've had in Switzerland. Delicious fat chips, malt vinegar brought along, homemade tartar sauce and mint mushy peas (as so few make it traditionally), but that fish... Oh boy, crispiest batter and huge portion as it should be!! I'm on my way back tomorrow ;)

A good pub in Bern again after a long time. 👌 The service was excellent and felt with the guest. The menu should have more veggie variations and even better organic 😃 That would be wonderful 😁 By sunshine ☀️ are the tables outside popular, so it would be better to to reserve 😉 I'd love to come by again... cheers 🍻

I will spend the rest of my life trying to find nachos that live up to the nachos at McCarthy's 😭 So good we got them twice in one day. The rest of the food on the menu is also really good and the drinks didn't disappoint either! Overall, a really nice atmosphere and lovely staff in a great location.

Wide selection of beers. Food was good. We would have liked just a bit more of chips in fish n chips and less cabbage in the BEEF & GUINNESS PIE. About the last one, I can tell that I definitely liked it and would suggest it. It was a guinnes braised beef in pastry served with carrots, cabbages, mashed potatoes and a sauce which I don’t know the ingredients. Very good.

Great atmosphere, lovely space. I appreciate that ordering chicken wings means you actually get the flat and the drum for every wing. Fun to hear the Irish accent among the expats as an American in Bern for a few weeks. Great staff, good food, very much enjoyed my visit. Will be back the upcoming week for a beer with the colleagues here.

Best pub in town, one of my favorite places. Authentic, friendly and competent staff (mostly Irish). Nice ambience, good pub food (good price) and of course a lot of beer. Best fish n chips in town! The beer is "expensive" (prime location) but the experience is worth it! You also have live sport and a real pub feeling! I also recommend Sunday brunch, good price and good quality! You see I love this place!

Great Irish bar, near the station. The Sunday roast lamb was amazing.

Lovely pub near the train station and close to the old city. They have a nice selection of beers on tap and good pub classics to eat, with plenty of options for vegetarians and meat lovers.

This was really good food. The bangers and mash were on par with the best I've had in Ireland. We really enjoyed the roast beef salad as well. A perfect variety dish. The service was incredibly friendly.

Staff were very busy but still managed to serve us in a timely manner. Very good vibes. Worth a look. Reservations preffered

Amazing food (the Steak'n'Ale pie is enormous, packed full of the most tender meat), and great service from Ben. Highly recommended.

One of the best "Irish" pubs I've been in outside of Ireland. The food was excellent and the staff were so friendly and helpful and we had booked a table for an important GAA match they seated us nice and near two big TV 📺 and to make things even better our team won 🏆

Absolutely loved my evening here. Food was very good quality, prices alright for downtown Bern. Service is fast and friendly and fully in English. Was a very lively place that evening we were there. They show premier league football on big TVs. Only surprise was the early closing time at 11 p.m.

Great atmosphere. Large selection of drinks. Reasonable drink prices. Food was more expensive. Would have been $25 for a cheeseburger and fries. Kitchen hadn't opened yet so we drank and left. It was very crowded on a Friday evening. Reservations recommended if you can plan ahead.

Really nice place and good vibes but 17 bucks for half a cup of generic moscow mule...? The selection of Drinks is extensive and amazing! Don't come in bigger groups though, especially thursday evenings, you won't find a space... (we were here on a thursday 18:00)

We love the pork rib dish here. The nachos are very nice, and the burgers will suffice if you are craving one. Good beer selection and friendly staff.

The loaded garlic fries were phenomenal! The burgers were good. Good prices on everything except the chicken strips which we pricy for the amount you get. Good vibes and great service.

Was at office party. I had to explain to the server what black label is... Moreover, drinks were all dry, with nothing served alongside ; no peanuts, no chips nothing. Lastly, there ia no common place to hang coat and umbrella. This, certainly is an overrated place to clink a drink in Bern. Thank you.

A home away from home and I am not even Irish. This is the place to be if you want good hearty meal and or nice drink after a day of travel. Their Guinness pie is superb. I would recommend them to anybody that is spending some time in Bern.

I've had almost every burger in this town and for some reason, an Irish pub offers the best ones. Granted, the standard wasn't very high to begin with, but still worth noting. On all my visits, staff was very friendly, and on one occasion, my party had the pleasure of being approached in four different languages over the course of the evening. This is the Bernese melting pot.

Really nice ambiance and friendly staff. The egg benedict was delicious the pancakes on the other hand are not really worth it.. still very good food.
