We were so excited to go to this restaurant and have our a bit more fancy date there on Saturday night, booked it a week in advance. We ordered a seafood casserole, which looked great when they brought it. It was smelling quite strong, but we just thought it was a mix of different seafood and fish that was giving a funny smell. Later we discovered that one of the the fish pieces in the dish was bad. First I ate a little piece and was disgusted. Then I separated the fish with a fork and an incredible strong icky odor came out. We called a waiter, he didn’t even ask anything, it seemed like they serve fish that’s gone bad relatively often. Then the manager came and gave us a thousand of apologies… but that doesn’t change the fact that they served us food that gave us food poisoning, but later about it. For starters, we had some croquetas and pimentos de padrón. They brought us the bill pretending to make the biggest gesture and removing those items from the bill. That literally was around 10 euros😂 Next day I woke up with stomach pain and was throwing up (sorry for details) all Sunday long. My husband had a stomach pain and was nauseous too for the next two days. I ate very very little of that fish, but I assume the bacteria from it got on the other food too. I’m not sure more comments needed. How come the chef didn’t distinguish the fish that was bad while cooking is a mystery for us. This is the fist time it happens to us, even in very cheap restaurants we never had such a bad experience with quality of products. Nevertheless, I hope this review can save someone abdominal cramps, vomiting and diarrhea. Double check the fish they serve you at this place.

I cannot understand why this place is a Michelin star contender. We were the first people to enter the restaurant and our food was ready after 85 minutes. Staff was extremely uninterested in us. When I've asked if there is any reason for such a long wait, the waiter told us the food is coming and we never saw the server again. We had to pour the wine on our own. As for the food - it was very average. Lobster rice was nice in taste, but overcooked. Seefood mix was, well, very mixed - crab was good, but shrimp average. We expected that the food will be worth the wait, but it wasn't. The cherry on top was that we were charged separately for the bread and butter (the pre-starter) which was 6 euros a person in total. This was easily the worst €200 I've ever spent.

Made a reservation via their website, had to chase them to get it confirmed (unlike the 24 hours confirmation they promised) and came to the restaurant to find it closed. Quoting the reply I received ""Boa tarde A sua reserva está confirmada. Obrigada Deolinda Ferreira" Nothing mentioned on the closing on Sunday and the reservation module on their website allows for Sunday reservations. Even more disappointed with this reply which took less then 1 hours and it took me 4 days to receive the (wrong) confirmation email. Even tried calling during opening hours nobody picked up. Less then 1 stars worthy

Recommended to us by our Portuguese host. Seafood at it's very best, most suitable for large groups to get the widest selection available.

A Michelin star seafood restaurant for the past 5 years. This spot is a worthwhile gem for local seafood and Portuguese wine. The prices are reasonable for the high quality of food and service. We went for a late lunch at 14:30.

A fantastic experience well worth searching out. Service was impeccable and the fish was fresh and beautifully prepared. The chef checked with customers that they were happy which we haven’t experienced in a long time. Wine not expensive.

Upmarket fish and seafood restaurant. We had the seafood platter for 2. Excellent and plenty: different crabs, rock lobster, clams, mussels, gooseneck barnacles, shrimp, … Stylish interior(in contrast to the somewhat scruffy harbour). Service professional but lacks warmth. Surprised they do not serve (sparkling) wine by the glass, this day and age. Nonetheless an enjoyable culinary experience.

What makes this place enormous is the stuff who took a great care about our table and order. Not only by drop-and-go, but waitresses had also recommended for us favorite options among drinks and desserts. It’s obvious that they know what is being sell in the menu and are able to adapt to the guest expectations. The food was not that spectacular as we thought it will be, however still done well and served nicely. Restaurant near the port with a cost design inside.

One of Portugal’s best kept secrets… With no shortage of anything… You will find one of the best dining options in the attractive Northern City of Viana do Castelo on the Minho Coast, this contemporary restaurant located next to the Castelo de Santiago da Barra occupies a docks warehouse in which the large attractive fish and seafood tanks take pride of place. Its owners are fish wholesalers, hence the top-quality fish and seafood that is on offer here, normally sold by weight and at prices that are highly competitive. You won’t find a single meat dish on the menu here!!!… Make sure you save space for dessert… They were so delicious I almost forgot to snap a picture… Lol

A fantastic seafood meal. My wife and I had the seafood casserole with 4 types of fish & 3 shellfish and a broth with tomatoes and peppers. It was the best Ichave eaten. My daughters shared a John Dory cooked to perfection. As a treat we also shared some delicious goose barnacles; I haven't seen these on a menu in the UK. Prices were reasonable and the portions generous. The restaurant is on a quiet section of the waterfront overlooking the fishing boats.

This restaurant is incredible! The seafood is freshly caught and really delicious. We had lobster and the staff let us pick it from the aquarium. We also had octopus, which was perfectly cooked. The wine selection is great too. The staff was excellent and very attentive. Make sure you make a reservation in advance. Well deserved the Michelin star!

Fantastic seafood. We had a mix plate and the taste was excellent. Without or with only a breeze of seasoning they were able to bring out the best of the natural taste of the seafood. Staff was friendly and professional. Don't forget to make a reservation up-front!

Down by the quay, right next to the lobster pots and small fishing boats. Fresh lobster. Fantastic seafood fare, every dish looked fantastic. You need to make a special trip, as it isn't in the central tourist trap area. Michelin recommended and you can see why.

I'm not usually going to such posh places, but decided to try it out since it was my in laws anniversary and honestly it was not worth it. The shrimp was overcoked, crab tasted like water with a hint of fish, the rest of the plate was ok at best. Thought a place with a Michelin star would make the food taste amazing but it was nothing special, rather go somewhere where you don't have to pay for the star and get regular service. Loved the Sangria though.

Beautiful place, well decorated, good atmosphere music, very friendly and helpful staff, the food is awesome and the wine cellar is very extensive to everyone taste. I could get used to it at least once a week.

Seems to be the best restaurant in the area for seafood. A little bit more expensive but well worth it for the lovely surroundings and atmosphere. Make sure you book ahead, we got turned away the first time when we didn't have a reservation.
