This
was
my
second
stay
(this
time
with
my
wife)
in
the
new
Magdas
Hotel
within
the
space
of
the
last
two
months
–
it
only
opened
at
its
new
location
at
the
end
of
October
–
and
as
I
reviewed
it
in
German
the
previous
time,
this
edition
is
for
the
benefit
of
the
English-speaking
public!
This
new
location
near
the
centre
of
town
is
very
easily
and
quickly
accessible,
especially
by
public
transport.
The
surroundings
are
not
as
green
as
at
the
old
location,
where
we
stayed
a
few
times
in
the
past
years,
but
the
newly
planted
garden
and
terrace
on
the
site
of
the
building’s
former
parking
lot
promise
to
start
flourishing
in
Spring.
We
were
pleased
to
note
that
all
the
agreeable
features
of
the
former
Magdas
version
have
been
transplanted
to
the
new
one:
the
extremely
friendly
and
obliging
staff
–
many
very
young,
in
training
and
from
various
origins
–
have
been
retained,
the
breakfast
buffet
is
varied
with
several
oriental
dishes
(hummus,
baba
ghanoush,
spiced
rice
pudding)
in
addition
to
more
traditional
fare,
the
rooms
are
now
more
modern,
but
comfortable,
clean
and
well-lighted.
Not
extremely
spacious
but
quite
sufficient.
No
unnecessary
luxuries
but
(e.g.)
upcycled
vintage
furniture
in
accordance
with
the
hotel’s
image
as
a
Social
Business.
All
the
premises
are
fully
accessible.
The
café
and
restaurant
offer
several
vegetarian
dishes
but
also
a
few
meat
dishes
as
they
aim
to
include
the
local
residents:
in
the
space
of
just
two
months,
they
appear
to
have
attracted
quite
a
few
local
customers.
We
are
looking
forward
to
making
Magdas
our
regular
hotel
for
short
stays
in
Vienna.
