The service is super friendly, local style. We had the knödel and the käsespätzle. The knödel was delicious and better than average. The käsespätzle was average.

Easter sunday dinner here. Many places was closed or fully booked. Here was space for us and we are hungry! We eat only main courses and one dessert. Very friendly service and food was okay! Portion was big. My food was maybe too salty. I said that this restaurant is something old fashioned!

The Staff if very unfriendly. I talk in English (my German is not fluent). We taken just only two beers. And them we was very disgusted. First he told something in German and than in English: " this is Restaurant, not pub" and hit the mug on the table. I was traveling all World but this was first time, when the Staff was very rude. Maybe next time angry Staff will throw away your dishes.

It's not a fancy place and bit 90s style but it serves honest home made Austrian food. Generous portions well seasoned reasonable prices and delicious curd cheese strudel, quick service would come back for another meal.

Stepped in for a dessert, they have amazing apple strudel and zachertorta. Recommend it

One of the oldest restaurants in Vienna, close to the Duomo, serves local dishes as well as some vegan options. It's a restaurant where local people have dinner, so if you look for something 100% Austrian, this is the place to be.

We arrived spontaneously without a reservation and were kindly received. The attention was quick. We ordered Wiener Schnitzel, it was delicious. After paying, they gave us a very tasty homemade raspberry liqueur as a gift. It was a good experience!

One of the oldest restaurants in Vienna is the place to be for authentic Viennese food. Great food and great vibes. Schnitzel and Sachertorte are must-tries.

All very tasty and just what we needed after a long day walking around Vienna. We both had soup, i had goulash soup and partner had the French onion soup and loved them. For main I wanted to try Tafelspitz and the misses wanted the Weiner Schnitzel, both dishes were excellent. Interior a bit dated and lacking a little atmosphere. Including wine and dinner I thought it was reasonably priced.

The service is great and the food even better. I started with goulash soup and should have stopped there, it was great and more than enough to fill me up. We are only in town for 10 days but I plan on returning. I wish I could remember the waiters name, he was great. Also a great music selection!

We're vegetarian and we noticed they had a "vegan platter" on their menu. Absolutely delicious!!!! Their house wine (dry) was excellent and I enjoyed their coffee. We had a wonderful waitress with a great sense of humour. Overall a great experience. Thank you. (We sat outside but the indoor decor looked great and I noticed they had a beautiful apple studel for dessert. ) Unfortunately we were too full to squeeze in dessert.

I got the french onion soup and it was so disappointing!! It was basically both with pieces of onion and soggy pieces of toast on the top. Nothing like french onion soup.. glad I didn't order anything else. I saw other people having schnitzels which looked decent. If you are not vegetarian and want to eat heavy maybe this is good. Otherwise no.

We had a lovely lunch here - a bit confused by some of the negative reviews. Goulash was lovely, bread with the soup super fresh, prompt service. A wonderful respite from the cold. Worth a try!

Wheelchair access to shops and restaurants we found was quite limited, in the evening we could only find one restaurant with indoor seating that I could get into (called 'Gutenberg' and I had a chicken schnitzel. It was nice, glad to try something traditonal). Vienna is cobbled, but it's definitely manageable in an electric wheelchair. The pavements are damaged Tarmac, the shopping precincts have large flag cobbles about the size of a placemat, and the smaller streets have small arched cobbles.

We had typical Austrian food in the centre of Vienna! Prices are fair, portions are generous.... The food is tasty and their milk strudel was wonderful!!! Forget the Sacher torta and try this one, it is just heaven!

Overall, an ok experience. The restaurant looks like it's quite old. Food has taste, but nothing extraordinary. We had 2 different types of snitzel with patatoes, plus a 750ml water, for all of which we paid 48€

Lovely meal and beer 🍻 😅 I had the schnitzel and my husband had wild boar gulas, both nicely cooked and seasoned! Thank you!

The vegetable soup with pancake was very good, but the tafelspitz was chewy and difficult to cut or chew. The susage is literally a hot dog with no bread. The service was good, but overall i don't recommend this place.

It’s the second time when we chose to serve the dinner here. I like the story of this restaurant. At this time I didn’t was impressed, the quality of the food was different from 1 year ago. Also the serving was excellent, the food was served quickly and the price was good.

Very poor service and rude/racist staff ! Speaking loud and makes you feel stupid. Menu not in english (not recommended for tourists). Said we could pay card then forced us to pay cash ! Disrespectful. So disappointing for our first day in this city.

Cosy, old fashioned interior. Good service and QPR. Tasty food and reasonable prices.

Very nice restaurant with friendly staff. It’s on a hot spot in Vienna so the prices are a little bit high but the schnitzel is perfect.

The food and the service we good. The staff was nice and quick to our table. It had good sized portions and we left happy. Only complaint is the WC smelled very bad.

After choosing this place in a hurry I then started to read all the other reviews which made me anticipate poor service and average food. I got the cevapcici which was excellent, and the waiter was so friendly and chatted to us for a while and made us and our baby and dog feel more than welcome. No funny business with the bill so I ended up leaving a generous tip. Exceeded expectations by far

We had a 24hour layover in Vienna and stumbled across Gutenberg. I am so glad we did. THE STAFF ~ OLIVER (our waiter) deserves so much credit. He was great with food suggestions, friendly, and always checking in with us! We even asked him for suggestions on a great bar to swing by; he took it upon himself to walk us outside and gave us personal directions. Hands-down OLIVER deserves a promotion and was so helpful in many ways. You should ask for him. THE FOOD ~ The schnitzel here is absolutely amazing. Its nicely cooked, tender, and tasty. The GRILLED sausage + mustard was savory and a great primer for the main course. The drink selection is great and they have a few good drafts on tap. My date had the Beef Cutlet w/ onions and the meat was very tender and not overly done with spices. If you are looking for a great place with authentic Austrian food, AMAZINGLY HELPFUL STAFF, and reasonable prices... look no further. We had a 5 star dining experience for a fraction of the price. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone interested in grabbing some tasty Austrian food.

We were caught out without a reservation on a holiday Friday and got turned away without considering at every other restaurant. VERY grateful however, the veal schnitzel (original Weiner) is above the cheaper, popular pork anywhere. Priced on par with area and quality also. Portion sizes slightly smaller though but it’s fine, we were fulfilled rather than overstuffed. Happy to walk out and to leave a small (voluntary!) tip to friendly staff, who definitely warmed up to us.

Food: Fairly great local dishes! I enjoyed my Viennese chicken and salad. A great stop-and-go food place while wandering the area of your hungry. Service: Servers are very kind and informative. Atmosphere: Quite busy with many business-like customers on a Sunday, around lunch time. This place has a very nice location.
