I signed a contract for a one year long membership online and gave my Irish bank account details- the website said it was a success and told me to pick up my card. I went to this Mariahilfer Gym where one of the employees specifically told me my contract was not valid as I used an Irish bank account and I was refused a membership but the following month I noticed 60€ or so was taken out of my Irish account even though I was told I don’t have any membership. In the mean time of that month I decided to sign up at another gym but I am now being forced to pay for this gym, even though they refused to give me a card until only after I went there to complain and ask what on earth is going on. Staff are unhelpful and don’t seem to understand anything? Keep away.

They have a room for weight training, a cardio area, an area for the glutes - which is great for women -, a core area - great for elderly people -, a room for classes but it can also be used as training room as there are only classes at certain times, then they have a room that looks like a crossfit room and a cycling room. So if you're shy, you'll certainly find a spot. They offer a variety of machines as well as different weights (dumbbells, kettlebells, bars) and steppers. They also have cushions for hip thrusts and different attachments for the rowing or lateral machines. As for the cardio machines, they're quite accurate as well when compared to a fitness watch. The gym is air conditioned (but not very cold) and you can also workout during summer. The only area not air conditioned in summer is the cardio area so the windows are usually open and it gets terribly hot. Unfortunately some of the machines don't work and they just write a note stating so. They seldomly get repaired or replaced. Also, you should pick your training time wisely.
