Wasn't the first bad experience either. I would just recommend to go to the Krugers or Planters which are both better cocktail bars and their staff is definitely more polite.

I believe the size of the bar is to foster communication and friendship as you sit with strangers and can start a conversation easily and possibly make friends. We had a sand and smoky, hot toddy, Irish coffee and The gimlet. All come highly recommended Service was impecabble and the space clean. It's a bit tiny and lots of movement, the history is breathtaking and worth learning about. Big plus is we ended up bonding with other clients It took us a while to find the place and signage could be improved. Otherwise x definitely coming back next time I am in Vienna

Best cocktails I’ve had hands down. The staff does really well at getting everyone’s drinks despite being extremely crowded on weekends. I really liked the ambiance, however the place is really small and gets packed on weekends. Would recommend going on week days if you don’t like to be in a narrow space pumping into a lot of people.

One of the most famous cocktail bars in Vienna with a long and colorful history. Worth a visit if you're in the area, though be warned, it is the first district and it's pricey. Between the two of us we had Manhattan, Old fashioned, Gimlet, Moscow mule, hanky panky and black Russian. IMHO the Black Russian was decent, the Manhattan was just about OK but everything else was subpar. The staff is very friendly, the architecture and layout is worth taking a look at and the crowd was a mix of regulars and tourists like myself.
