It’s a difficult opinion to write because the food was really tasty, the prices are very good but this was the absolutely worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The older guy who was a waiter was rude to everyone, he was throwing menus and money on the tables and shouting at people... I was stressed the entire time and wanted to eat as fast as possible and just leave... He also assumed it's obvious that he deserves a tip... Really sad because this place could have been awesome and really local but....only for people with strong nerves.

I'm only giving 1 star because the waiter was really nice however the food was garbage. Most disgusting food I have ever had. I didn't even want to pay. I had the schweinsbraten and it was so awful. The meat tasted like cardboard. It was also very chalky. I couldn't eat much I felt like vomiting. My partner had something starting with F, reference the pics below. It was absolutely terrible. The meat was in sauce but somehow dry. I have had these dishes at other places and they were great but this restaurant was awful. Even the saurkraut was awful. How do you have bad saurkraut???? The knödel was the driest knödel ever. The food was just completely disgusting. And we spent 32€ for inedible food. They really need to improve. I only went there because of the reviews and I regretted it. Contrary to the reviews, the waiter was super nice. He had glasses and short brown hair. Hope he gets a raise. But the food was completely and utterly awful. I had to get food afterwards because my food was so bad. I even got stomach pains from it.

We came here because we heard that it was a place where we could try some really traditional Wiennese dishes and we were definitely right! The decoration may make you think that it is a "tourist trap", because that is what we first thought. However we did not hesitate and gave it a shot; best decision ever. The food tasted very good and the prices were alright as well. The bier was extremely good and the amount in each dish was abundant. Besides all this, the staff was very nice and welcoming. The only problem is that he was a little bit nervous and wanted to have our choices right away, but his English was good and made everything easier. By the way, you can see that the pictures are not the best.... I am sorry, we were hungry and the food looked way too good. I highly recommend you to visit this place.

A very down-to-earth inn like from the good old days, even the furnishings have not changed for decades. The choice of food is adequate, i.e. hearty home cooking, tasty and in very large portions. The range of drinks is also adequate. There is even a dark beer from Gösser. The service is also worth mentioning, although it is shirt-sleeved here too. A solid choice at reasonable prices!

Excellent food! If you want to be away from the touristic spots and enjoy nice Austrian dishes then I would recommend this place. Pricing is relatively cheap and schnitzel was better than the one I had at other popular restaurant in Vienna. Service was good too however that's my experience. Hope you guys find it good too.

Had a lunch menu with deep fried cod. The main dish (cod) and the salad was very tasty and well done. The vegetable soup didn't look and taste too attractive and was on the salty side. The atmosphere is nice. Many locals come to visit. I would rate the food 5 stars if the restaurant would be slightly less expansive.

We were looking for a Schnitzel and we found it. We got beer and 4 schnitzels for two of us. I've never experienced anything like this before. By the way, huge thanks to the waiter. It seems he works there for a long time and I believe he truly loves the place too.

Great schnitzel. 💯 A bit difficulty to communicate in English but it’s okay. Tho our server spoke in English straight when asked for tip 😅

This is a very traditional Viennese place. Absolutely stunning food. Close to U6 Handelskai. Highly recommended.

Just great local restaurant with nice atmosphere. The dishes are huge and can be shared easily with a second adult. If you want to enjoy local food come here. We went twice during our trip. And our stay was not even nearby. Menus are only in German. So be better prepared how to order or just show a picture. Totally recommend.

Great service and great meals! No difficulties in communicating in English with the staff and menu is presented in many languages also. I would definitely return and recommend to eat the famous Schnitzel without paying the expensive tourist pricing from central areas... Long work hours so big chances of finding it open. 3 adults and 2 kids eating and drinking for around 60 euros.

You need a COVID vaccunation certification or a negative test. The plates are delicious!

We went to this restaurant yesterday. The waiter was super good. He even spoke in English thinking that we may not speak German. The food was great though it took little longer to arrive at the table. Toilet needs to be more modern and clean.

The portions are huge for the price! A schnitzel with potato salad was €10.50 and it was enough to be shared between 2 people. I am definitely going to come here again!!

Very tasty and large schnitzel served with pitato salad or.fries, local beer, 5/5.

A great place to try traditional Austrian food when visiting Vienna. Not too touristy, but the staff is fluent in English and pretty kind. Very spacious and nice decorations. Excellent food at a good price. They don't accept payments with a card and pretty much demand a tip.

If you are an hungry bastar* like me, you’ll love the challenge! Huge portions and very tasty food. Only minus, they don’t serve tap water like all the other restaurants

  • 5/5 Marcell M. 7 months ago on Google
Probably not a bad idea to book a table, especially if going lunch time, but even if you have to wait it worth it, the food is 10/10, the atmosphere feels authentic and prices are ridiculously low.

Don't be fooled by the appearances!! The waiter was so talkative and attentive with us, he was smiling and giving great vibes. Exactly how it should be in a restaurant. Serving was fast, Gosser beer was perfect, food was delicious, we tried the famous pork schnietzel and is one of the best I've ever tried. If u want affordable food but tasty, this is the place!!

Amazing place with very friendly staff and great prices. The tastiest cordon bleu I’ve ever had! Big portion and loaded with cheese. Highly recommend!

We took the big plate for two and, yes it's big but delicious 😋 ! Nice atmosphere with very friendly waitrers. If you want true but cheap Vienna food, you must go there!

Went to this place for lunch with my gf. The waiter arrived at our table after 7-8 minutes of waiting, then required covid pass, and disappeared again not letting us ask if I could place an order while I go back to take the pass which I forgot. He didn't give a proper response and basically told us to leave. So rude

Amazing traditional food, every day new special menu, but the most common traditional is always there. Beer is good as well

The prices are quite economical for Vienna, the dishes are typical Austrian and really tasty. A quiet, non-touristy place. Absolutely recommend the apple strudel, best strudel I've ever had! The stuff are nice and friendly.

Excellent food, ribs is the must try dish. But very rude service, don’t go there if you are mentally ready for that

The food was good but the service definitely needs to be improved. If someone misses the cold service from the restaurants in Berlin along with the barely hidden contempt for "foreigners", then this is the place to go. The waiter noted my order and confirmed with me that the dessert will be served after the main course. After waiting for close to 15 minutes post the main course, I realized that the dessert was far from ever coming. This was confirmed when I went to pay the bill and there were only the main course and drink on my tab. Awesome conduct indeed!

We were looking for a traditional spot with a good atmosphere to try the famed Wiener Schnitzel. It was also our last meal before leaving beautiful Vienna, and we could not have chosen a better spot to enjoy a final hurrah. This place completely exceeded our hopes and expectations with what we were looking for!!

Great food and great service. At a very fair price. It does get crowded at lunch time. Either make a reservation or go for a late lunch since it clears up at around 15h.

Big tasty portions. A must place in Vienna. The catalog is in german. I don't know if the y have it in English.

  • 4/5 Vanessa E. 2 years ago on Google
Food was delicious, everything perfect. The star missing is because they only accept cash, which was a bit unconvenient, since we were not aware of it.

Good food in dirty place. Bald gentleman is professional and polite waiter which I definitely cannot say about other elder guy - he's really mean. Keep in mind it's not possible to pay there with card

  • 5/5 Doris K. 2 years ago on Google
A fantastic traditional restaurant. The staff was very nice and polite. The interior design was carefully though in every detail. The food was delicious served carefully. We really enjoyed the taste, the time and it was a great experience. Would highly recommend it. Take cash as we couldn't manage to pay with credit card.
