Gansemadchenbrunnen (Goose Girl Fountain) is a late 19th century fountain located at the top of Rahlstiege, a historic staircase linking the upper Mariahilfer Straße and lower Rahlgasse in Vienna. This fountain is the works of Czech sculptor Anton Paul Wagner. It is of a bronze female holding part of her dress in her left hand. There is a bronze goose standing at her right just below her right hand. The lady is peering downward and forward. Below the Goose Girl is a pedestal with two more bronze geese standing upright with wings spread. Their mouths are spouts which spill into two small basins. Unfortunately, like all fountains in Vienna, Gansemadchenbrunnen wasn't turned on during my recent visit as it was too early in the year. The Goose Girl Fountain is worth a couple minutes if you are passing through the area and enjoy viewing old monuments.

A small fountain at the beginning of Mariahilferstraße. Behind it are the stairs of the Rahlstiege. Maybe it's a little lost in the big space.

Above the staircase linking the upper Mariahilfer Straße and lower Rahlgasse in Vienna is a late 19th century fountain, the beautiful bronze “Goose Girl Fountain”. (Sculptor: Anton Paul Wagner)
