Try the vegetable strudel! We were surprised with how affordable this restaurant was, considering the unique location. Staff were busy but friendly, food was served quickly and cooked excellently, I'd highly recommend making this a part of any trip to Schönbrunn Palace.

Really unique caffe, we waited in line for 5 minutes to get a table. Waiter was extremely friendly, recommending us different cakes. I had Gloriette cake and it was delicious. I can recommend this place, it is worth visiting.

Gloriette is located in a large, old building - free standing at the top of the hill overseeing the palace. A nice location, but one that's without adequate air-conditioning. The food itself is OK-ish overall; cake and drinks are fine. ❗ I had been unlucky and found a 1x1cm patch of insect eggs in my salad (no picture included). It rarely happens and can happen on hot summer days but it's still not easy to accept when you're paying for the service. Salads are visibly cut in chunks as long, stips or very uneven chunks (some 0.5mm thick, some 5mm thick) and are rather soggy, the noodles with ham came served quite 'plain'. The staff was friendly to us but had a bit of a temper to others (maybe due to the extreme heat); ❗ be aware prior to visiting that you cannot do split payments if paying by card. You can split via cash or one person has to pay for the whole table by card.

The view is great, but only if you sit down at the front tables, which are almost always taken. The food is really not good for the price, only except for the "Apfelstrudel". The hot chocolate was literally just chocolate milk with whipped cream. The only good thing about this cafè is the view of Schönbrunn and Vienna. And the architecture.

Wonderful find behind the gardens at Schönbrunn Palace! In Gloriette at the top of the hill. Everyone in our party enjoyed their lunch - goulash, chili (yes, chili), and sandwiches. All were very good. And we had excellent apfel strudel and coffee after lunch.

The Sacher we ordered was dry though the Wein Coffee was good. The service was pathetic. It's always full and due to novelty, it's always overflowing however the wait staff indoors, was shallow and not up to the standard. If you skip the visit, you won't be missing out anything special.

In summary: excellent food and customer service I stopped by Café Gloriette during my visit to Schönbrunn Palace Park. From being seated, to getting the menu and then the food and drink (they had an excellent selection of food and drink) - very fast and efficient service. I highly recommend visiting Café Gloriette, not only for the excellent food and service but for the views of Schönbrunn Palace Park.

You need to climb a small hill to reach this place, but it is worth it. You will have a nice view of the Schönbrunn palace and Vienna. The cafe is a little bit pricey than the average but it's not an average place, so everything is ok. I have tried and strongly recommend Frittatensuppe. It's very tasty and perfect if it's cold outside.

A nice place to stop and have a coffee and warm up during a winter visit. Nice views of the palace and the gardens. Polite and helpful staff speak many languages. The chocolate hazelnut soufflé was delicious.

On a freezing afternoon walking around the Schonbrunn, good option to warm up and get a bit.  Kids had cakes, we went for the gulash and Austrian beer.  Cannot go wrong, staff was a bit overwhelmed.

Walk by for later lunch after checking the high rating and review from google. The view is really nice to see the palace. But the food is not good and portion is relatively small. The warm dishes is cold, the sausage might be cooked a long time ago and was dried inside. Only the apple strudel is acceptable. The price is what you except near tourist spot. I would not recommend here except you really need a place nearby to rest.
