😠 Horrible rip-off. Every place we went either had no discount with this card, or the family price was cheaper than the city card discounted price as individuals. Couldn't use at St. Stephens, Schonbrunn, or Kaisergruft. People often mention card, Vienna, discounts, museums, worth, tickets, city, City, transport, Card,

Vienna City Card is mainly useful for public transports and getting a 10-15% discount at museums. Its cost is not worth covering such expenses unless you got back & forth numerous times and visit so many museums!!! Also, its link with hop on/off buses is really tricky and leads to errors: if you buy a 72 hours VCC you ONLY have 24 hours for free, which is NOT clear in the disclaimers. In essence I DO NOT suggest VCC

One of the best way to see the best attractions in Vienna. The price is not that high and it helps you a lot to skip the line. The info point visit helped me to understand how it should be used and the employees are very kind

Very useful for our visit especially free public transport. Easy to buy and to use via the app. Only challenge we had was that we couldn't use it to get a discount if we bought tickets online or in advance, we had to queue for physical tickets and show the Vienna City Card on our phones to get in with the discount...rather annoying! Overall worthwhile and value for money

Do not get fooled by "the official city card", transport was the only benefit that was worth it. I was not able to use my limited offer for a FREE?! Giant Ferris Wheel as per the website AND the writing OUTSIDE the ticket office ( the picture attached). Unless you speak German and happy to keep tourists in the queue behind you waiitng, good luck getting the cassier FINDING THIS OFFER ON THE SYSTEM?! There is a very large number of museums, but it feels like they just did not have enough space to make meaningful exhibitions in a couple places, as th emajority of them are not worth it and not impressive. It will still cost you EUR20, but do not worry "the official city card" will allow you so save EUR1 for each of your visits. I can't believe this company is allowed to exist and they must make a lot of $$$.

You will never get your tickets and you will pay for nothing.. really a bad customer service. No one helps you if something gets wrong during your purchase process...I paid 75€ for 3. City cards (2days) and I never get the cards.

Definitely worth buying it as you have discounts at multiple locations for museums and restaurants. Includes travel on public transport best to buy online and having VCC app installed helps as it have guides as to what can be done in vienna.

Ended up not using it to it's full capacity and the places were random on the rules. Some required you to stand in line for tickets (palace) and some you just walk in (zoo & royal jewels)

Only used this a couple of times for travel, mainly to go to Schonbrunn Palace. If you dont like walking its the card for you but if you enjoy being in the city and walking around its not worth it, the discounts it offers dont jusitfy the cost if you arent using it for travel as well.

Didn't get my money's worth due to the fact that a normal 48 hour travel card costs 15 quid vs this card being 25. All places we went to only took a euro off the card expect for the butterfly place which won't give us one because we needed a 72 hour one. So all in all you would need to visit 11 places that accepts it within two days...just take the normal travel card.

I recommend due to super easy process of buying online (you can pick a date for which you need the card) + we saved a lot on museum tickets (there are reduced prices with the card) + you don't need to worry about tickets if you use a lot of public transport ;)

I think the concept is great. Travelling today, ordered it yesterday and using it now via their app. For some reason once in Vienna I got Confused with their app, and thought I had to login via email to get access to the pass, but couldn't login via Gmail. However, u don't have to as it is saved in "Vienna City cards". So went to Vienna City card help desk at the airport and the guy was helpful, but looked tired of helping me (I know iwas dumbfounded as well). If you can't answer tourists questions in a polite and respectful way get another job please! I am glad the first point of contact I had in Austria was at the Vienna airport help desk: that person was kind and helpful and not rolling his eyes... PS everyone else I met on my way Airport, cat train were so kind! I am so relieved he was an exception. I got the city Vienna transfer pass that includes airport transfer and 48hrs railway card. Its a few euros over but at least I have everything on myy phone and additional discounts to the place I d like to visit!

The card itself is ok, I just wasn't well informed before purchasing it, in how to activate. Is hard to reach out to someone to help with further informations about the card, yes, I tried ivie.app and it is useful up to a certain point, in my opinion. I did save some € during my trip using this card but don't expect to save that much. If you want to buy online tickets and benefit of those mentioned discounts for visiting an attraction you cannot do it but if you go and purchase the tickets personally then yes, you can use it and benefit of that discount.

Don't bother getting the City Card. We got over in Salzburg which was fantastic - but the "deals" on the Vienna Card are pathetic. If you want to break even on your Vienna City Card you would have to visit so many museums that you won't have time to see them.

Well, the website is too jard to understand. You may have a fifficult time to find an information. Secondary, the discounts are so tiny. Like 1-2 euros, which is not really much. Most of places are not in a discount list. The only good surprise is that with the 48 hours card you have 7 days of possibility to apply it (but not for a transport! There only 2 days with 48h card).

It is not fully connected to one dedicated app, city card has one app, transportation another and a third app to buy tickets when your Vienna card expires in three days. So complicated. Why don't you make all in one platform and have one week pass instead of 72 hours. Disappointed. Also, too many similar apps and services on Vienna that confuse you

Perfect card for visiting the city using buses, trams and metro indefinitely and to get discounts at various attractions and museums... Highly recommended...

This card is not worth the purchase IMO especially if you are a family. Just buy a regular discounted transport pass instead, 24/48/72 hours, on the Wien Mobil website. The Vienna Card discounts, unless you plan to see many sights, are not worth it. The sights already offer their own discounts for families in any case. Most frustratingly is the Vienna Cards own website to prebook attractions. It doesn't work. Consistently shows no availability for ANYTHING. Do not recommend it.

We took a Viennapass card and toured the city. It was very good for visiting the museums, we did not pay any money and entered the museums without waiting in line. The hop on hop off tours were also very good. The reason I deducted two stars is that the card is not combined with the transportation card. You have to pay 14€ extra to take the metro. Since the single pass was 2.40€ and we only used it occasionally twice a day, it was not advantageous for us. That's why I think this card should be combined with the transportation card and no attempts should be made to collect extra money from tourists.

I will come to Vienna in March. Is there a card that I can use for 48 hours free of charge for all museums and transportation?

  • 5/5 Rodney B. 9 months ago on Google

Excellent value for money service! It is bit difficult to find the process of evaluation, esp. if u use that app and several cards are purchased at a time.

Cons: quite low discounts so you have to visits many sightseeings and museums to exploit it. The public transport tickets is too rigid. Pro: The card has tons of discounts.
