The hosts at this restaurant are so kind and generous. The owner shared a bit about his life story and how he came to own this restaurant. He has a heart of gold. The food is all fresh and home cooked feeling, and they just keep bringing you complimentary tofu, rice, soup, salad. We were so full by the end. MUST try! Even if you’re not vegetarian, you need to come here. Thank you so much for having us in your restaurant. If you rate this place anything less than 5 stars, you are a monster!

This is the best restaurant my family and I have been to in Vietnam so far! And we have eaten our way up the entire country over the past three weeks. The service was truly spectacular, the white staff were absolutely lovely and the food came so shockingly fast. And it all tasted absolutely scrumptious. When the food started coming my family and I quickly thought that we had ordered way too much food, but the true proof of the pudding was that there was no food left at the end of the meal. As even though we were all stuffed to the brim; the food was just so delicious we couldn’t help but finish it. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough if you are in Hanoi, vegetarian/ vegan/ or all round omnivore. This was a truly special culinary experience that I think everyone should have the pleasure of witnessing.

The restaurant is a real hidden gem and one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had! Everything was vegan and the food was amazing. Don't order a lot because you get free dishes but it is tempting to taste many things as everything there is so delicious. Don't miss this restaurant it's a real gem especially for vegans and vegetarians as finding vegetarian food can be hard in Hanoi sometimes. Also the story behind the restaurant and the owner is very touching.

Amazing place filled to the brim with vegan options. The service includes a starter and all the side dishes (rice, fresh herbs and salad, soup, condiments) to create a wonderful dining experience so come hungry! The owner is a lovely man too. I am so glad I tried this place :)

The best meal we've had so far in Vietnam. I'm not vegetarian but I could eat here everyday. The food is fantastic. Family run vibes with a tiny kitchen in the corner. I have no idea how they produce such spectacular dishes so quickly out of such a tiny space. The story of William the owner coming up from being a streetkid to restaurant owner only makes this more impressive. There's no space for this to be seen as a charity case though, the food simply won't allow it and it deserves to be experienced by a wide audience. Note that you get served two dishes on top of what you order as standard, both are amazing but it the amount of food meant I had to be rolled out of there.Delicious!

If you come to Hanoi and only eat at one vegan restaurant, let it be this one! Incredible food, the best I’ve had in Vietnam. The owner has a heartwarming tale of going from street kid to restaurant owner and his pride in his craft is infectious. We ordered 2 meals and the owner kept bringing us more dishes to try free - even topping them up when they got low. Cost less than £10 for 2 people and a table full of food. A true gem of the city.

Best vegan food I’ve had in the whole of Vietnam. You get an amazing spread of food for such a good price sharing for two. Amazing story about the owner of the restaurant so touching and such a sweet guy who cares about helping children less fortunate. Delicious food which came out so quick. Ring the bell and you’re greeted by sweet man who takes you upstairs to a Lovely little restaurant. Fantastic couldn’t fault. Only order one “protein dish” as you get a lot of food! Vegan chicken was so good. Thank you

We had a fantastic meal here about 2 weeks ago. Very cheap prices for the amount of food that you get (5 side dishes come with ordering one main which is easily enough for 2 people). And I haven't stopped thinking about the guava juice since! Nor the 'cinnamon roll vegan pork' we tried. There are some photos already up to find the place - it feels a little like you are going into someone's home. Through the walkway you will find some stairs to the left. If you eat meat you can sit in the part next to the street as they do serve meat dishes prepared in a separate family kitchen. Authentic and delicious. If you like true vegan food you will love eating here.

One of the best and most authentic vegan meals I’ve had in Vietnam. Food was delicious with extremely generous portions and reasonable pricing. I could barely finish and was surprised we only paid 95k for such a huge amount of food for 2 people. The owner is very friendly and passionate about sharing his stories about his life growing up in Vietnam and helping kids on the street. Highly recommended.

Small little vegan restaurant that feels like you’re in a Vietnamese cook home. Delicious food with lots of vegan alternatives to meat and fish. The owner shares a bit of his story from street kid to entrepreneur which is admirable. We loved it here! Totally recommend

What a great restaurant. It's quite easy to miss this place as there is no board. You need to ask around to access the place. I didn't know that Vegetarian food can be so delicious till I had lunch at this restaurant. We ordered papaya salad and vegetarian chicken but we got so many side dishes. The servings were pretty generous. All dishes were fresh and delicious. The tastes were unique. The owner was a lovely guy who showed us how to eat the side dishes. It's a family run business and everyone is lovely. My wife and I had a great time. Highly recommended.

Very inspiring story and friendly staff. They serve you first some tofu with rice and salad for free, and then the dishes that you ordered. Everything was so delicious! We came back twice and would come back.

This place was amazing! Our food highlight from Hanoi. The owner is the sweetest man and his heart really comes across in the food. The flavours are really clean but vibrant, and there are lots of options to choose from. Our favorites were the banana blossom salad and the tofu in tomato sauce (which is free and they keep refilling). They give you free rice as well, a bowl of fresh herbs and the most aromatic chili lime sauce for dipping. If I ever come back to Hanoi this place is top of my list. I would highly recommend to anyone, not only vegetarians. It really is a memorable experience!

Best veggie/vegan food I've eaten in Vietnam! The fact that they give you rice, soup, tofu and salad all for free on top of what you order is so amazing and incredibly generous. Such a good range of fake meats and fish, like nothing I've seen anywhere else, and so incredibly tasty! The owner shares his story with customers and it's so touching. What a fantastic man and what an awesome hidden gem in Hanoi! So glad I found this place. 😍

Outstanding vegetarian food. Tasted incredible and a really nice hardworking owner. They serve you rice, dipping sauce, a tofu dish and seaweed soup. You then just pick a main dish to add to it. I was so full after this tasty food. Recommended

This place is a *must* when you’re in Hanoi - whether you’re vegetarian or not. You get rice, soup and and incredibly tasty tofu curry free with your meal. We ordered the papaya salad which was insanely delicious, the vegan chicken that I absolutely recommend and a great squash dish. The owners are very kind and helpful, and their story is touching. We paid less that 300k for a table so full of food we couldn’t finish it all. Too bad I live on the other side of the world — if I didn’t I’d be back every other day :)

The restaurant was a real hidden gem for my trip in Hanoi. I am not a vegan myself, but I truly enjoyed the dishes I ordered here. All the dishes I order tasted amazing! The owner was also very kind and he showed us how to enjoy each item that we ordered. I am writing this review in almost 4 months after my visit, and honestly now I miss the food and the tastes that I enjoyed from this restaurant. Highly recommended guys!

Amazing food, they gave us tofu, salad and soup as free appetizers and they were incredible. The food was so tasty! I think this is by far the best restaurant I’ve been to in Vietnam (today was my last day in the country). The owner history is also very moving and an example of bravery and growth. I highly recommend visiting this place not just because of the amazing food but also the wonderful person he is.

A humble place, with delicious, plentiful, and affordable food — our best dining experience in Hanoi so far. The staff — or really, hosts — are kind, generous, and welcoming. The food is all so fresh, home cooked and so tasty. We were so full between what we ordered and all of the complimentary food, we gifted a couple dishes to the table next to us. (Note that the restaurant is on the second floor — just press the bell and go back to the stairs to get up to the restaurant.) It’s a short menu but plenty of good options for both folks who like meat substitutes and those who don’t. And the juices are really yum too.

This place is such a hidden gem! The vegetables are fresh, deliciously made and even the dipping sauce was made fresh in front of us. The food is quite different to typical Hanoian food and so refreshing after eating fried street food. When you order a main dish, you get sides (rice, fresh herbs and bean sprouts, dipping sauce, soup and a tomato tofu dish) for free! It was so worth the price and as a couple, we left feeling totally stuffed. The staff are so friendly and the owner has a very inspiring story. You will need to go down a small alleyway and climb up some stairs to get to the restaurant on the 2nd floor, but all the street vendors will point you in the right direction. This is the best food we had in Hanoi by a long shot and if I ever return, it will be the first stop on the list!

The best place for Vegan and vegetarian food. So many option you have to choose. And the taste is amazing. Taste can’t be described in word so just go there and try it. Very close to Hanoi old quarter.

Three thumbs up! Don't hesitate, just go. Our vegan feast was delicious and the service was outstanding. We ordered more than the two of us could eat for 320,000 dong with drinks. The people that run this small, simple venue are kind and friendly. The owner is a former street kid and social entrepreneur who donates part of his earnings to help kids in poverty. It's our first night in Hanoi and we will definitely return.

Wow this place was amazing and the owner was so friendly and you can tell he really loves what he does! Refreshing getting amazing vegan/ vegetarian food with a huge selection and they kept bringing more side dishes. I can’t wait to return on my next visit to Hanoi and will highly recommend to all fellow veggie travellers. The lemon squeezed dipping sauce for rice was delicious :)

The food is undoubtedly great, with a variety of delicious vegan and vegetarian options to choose from. Best vegan restaurant in Hanoi! I came here twice and both times it was a pleasant experience. The food is wonderful, abundant dishes and super tasteful. You order a dish and get other 4 more for free and able to refill. The people that work here and specially the owner are super caring and lovely. A must visit for any vegan and non-vegan coming to Hanoi. William (owner) has an inspiring story, which makes it even more special coming here. I will come back for sure!!! Thanks so much William and team.

Not very easy to find but so worth it! The food is delicious!! We were super surprised about the quality and freshness of the food. But what blew out minds was actually the taste of everything!!! Simply delicious!! At first I was sceptical because the menu says 'fried' this, 'fried' that. But it is not deep fried. It was just a pan friend which is way better! I highly recommend this place!! William the owner is passionate about his restaurant! You feel how much care they put into it! If you are vegan or not you should try this place!

Utterly delicious! By far the best meal I've had in Vietnam so far. It's upstairs, accessed through the passage to the left. I almost missed it. More food than I could eat. Lots of fresh flavours. And vegan! Will appeal to non vegans too, just delicious food. Photo taken before the soup arrived!

Don't be nervous when the storefront on the street looks quiet! Follow the signs inside and upstairs, and you will find delicious food and a lovely welcome on the 2nd floor. Fantastic vegan menu: if you like meat substitutes, these are inventive and tasty. Welcoming for solo travelers and groups. We loved our meal here.

I had Tomato tofu and it was so good! It comes with a big bowl of salad and a small sauce. The lady made a sauce for me and showed me how to eat. The owner was also friendly and he even gave me a second helping of tofu for free! The portion is huge and generous with good price. I would highly recommend this place.

Really enjoyed our meal at Katze! The owner William is very warm and gave us a two side dishes on the house. The food is really tasty. We ordered papaya salad, spring rolls, sautéed veggies and mushrooms. Highly recommend for vegans / vegetarians. Also incredible value for money.

As a vegetarian, it is hard to come by good vege food to eat. This was by far the best food I’ve had since being in the country. You also get given loads of free starters alongside your meal which is lovely. The owner even showed us how to eat the foods traditionally which was a great added touch. UPDATE: Visited this place a second time, and was even better than the first. Definitely a restaurant I will be recommending to others who are visiting

This place is amazing for vegans, we ate her twice during our visit to Hanoi. The person who owns it is so humble and shares his story of how he became an entrepreneur. The food is fantastic, I tried the vegan beef with vegetables and the vegan pork ribs with pepper sauce and we finished it all! The food comes with tomato tofu and soup so the proportions are large. Please visit this restaurant and support the owner, you will love it!!! Can’t recommend this place enough!

This place is absolutely amazing!! The food is incredible, the service is so beautiful it’s a real personal experience. The prices are amazing! Pay for one dish and then get 4 sides free with it. I had the vegan shrimp and it was super delicious! I will definitely keep returning here to try the rest of the menu 😍😍😍😍!! Wow!!!! So happy to find this place! I can understand why there is so many 5 star reviews 😍😍💕💕

Fantastic place to go to eat. It's a hidden gem for vegans in Vietnam. As many have mentioned, perhaps be aware if the quantities. They serve extra soup and tofu ( they mentioned it in the menu but didn't realise it was a full extra dish!). And the story of the owner is moving.

  • 5/5 Hazera 8 months ago on Google
EXCEPTIONAL! There’s a reason this place has so many good reviews, it really is a hidden gem. My partner who hates vegetables cleaned his plate. We ordered the bbq chicken and vegan beef which we would highly recommend! The owner is so kind, he showed my partner how to make his meal and even fed him! Please do give this place a visit and don’t be put off going through the alley way up the stairs.

Absolutely amazing restaurant and the guy who runs it is so lovely. His story is so inspiring and he tells you how he came from being a street kid and now works to provide for other children. We shared a crispy beef main, spring rolls and stir fried mushrooms which were so flavourful. They bring out extra sides for free, and show you how to eat it all. We were absolutely stuffed for such an affordable price, this restaurant deserves all the customers!!

  • 5/5 Manuel K. 1 year ago on Google
Great place for vegan food. The owner is an exceptional nice guy and has a quite inspiring story. The prices are good and the food delicious - would definitely eat there again.

  • 5/5 Ela D. 8 months ago on Google
Cozy and tasty food. Everything was delicious and carefully made. They show you how to eat their dishes in order to savour it even more. They make you feel welcome from the moment you enter through the door. Very authentic. Not suitable for wheelchair upstairs but they serve at the entrance downstairs also. The toilet is a mess, so keep that in mind if you need to go, but this is normal in Vietnam! Even so, in my opinion, they deserve the 5 stars!

We didn’t know what exactly was happening and how it works here at first. But then after a bit of explanation, we got in the mood quickly. So, you order your meals and drinks and then get a big bowl of rice, big bowl of tofu in tomato sauce, freshly made dipping sauce, big bowl of salad, herbs and sprouds and a bowl of morning glory (water spinach) soup, all included in the price. The food was very tasty and there was more than plenty for the two of us. The place feels like having a group dinner with him at his home. Definetly recommending to visit when in Hanoi! The owner, William, comes from a poor environment and worked hard and long to become a restaurant owner he’s today. As explained, he donates money he makes from the restaurant to charity that’s taking care of poor and orphaned children. It’s always great to see someone care and support others in need. Wishing William and his staff lots of success and happy customers just like us. ✌️ Thank You for the food and nice experience. 😊
