Beautiful chapel created in 1951. The hermitage is dedicated to the Virgin of A Guía and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Manuel Gómez Román was in charge of the construction of the new church, since the previous one was in a very poor state of conservation. The landmark of the church is a central tower. In the original project it was much larger and was topped with the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, but due to the economic situation of the brotherhood it was decided to reduce its size. The hermitage has a rectangular plan with a polygonal apse, built on a platform contained with a strong brick wall. The cachoteria wall is used on the exterior walls, while in some panels of the temple and in the porches stone is combined with fine stonework and white highlights. The cornice of the main façade is cut through an original composition of plates. The main entrance is highlighted with a split pediment with a central scallop.

The hermitage is located crowning the Monte de A Guía, on the remains of a primitive fort and at about 100 m altitude, offering a perfect view of the Ría de Vigo from that privileged location, north of the city. Also noteworthy are the well-kept gardens that surround it, as well as a Via Crucis from the base of the mountain to the top.

Spectacular. A must see. It is highly recommended to climb the church bell tower. It costs only 1 euro. The views of the estuary, the bridge, the cies and the city of Vigo are spectacular. Very very pretty.

Small and very beautiful hermitage that can be visited for €1 per person and includes access to the highest area of the hermitage with privileged views of the Vigo estuary. Furthermore, in the area of the hermitage there is 1 esplanade with 1 viewpoint with the best sunsets in Vigo since it can be seen hidden behind the Cíes Islands. There is 1 free car park about 7 minutes away and right at the hermitage there are a few parking spaces. I also think that it is essential to take a walk along any of the paths through the mountain of the guide since it is the only wild mountain left in Vigo with a very beautiful carballeira. You have to visit it at least once to enjoy its majesty🌄

The tower has a nice view. The church itself is plain.

Beautiful chapel built in the mid-20th century on the top of Monte Da Guía. It was recently finished off by adding an image of the Sacred Heart on top of the bell tower according to the original project. The entire environment is very well maintained and offers beautiful views of the Ría de Vigo including beautiful sunsets.

(Translated by Google) Some time ago I visited the chapel and I thought it was interesting and well cared for. I recently passed through Vigo but I couldn't get close enough to assess the cairn that some locals have placed over the hermitage. I can only say that from a distance that is how I could see it. "It was dazzling" and not because of its beauty but because of the radical change in color if they needed a lighthouse in the estuary they could think of another location For now I keep the 5 stars in 1 year as this contrast continues so radical that there is no way to look at it, several stars will vanish like my interest in visiting the area again (Original) Hace tiempo visite la capilla y me pareció interesante y cuidada hace poco pase por Vigo pero no me pude acercarme para valorar el mojón que según algunos lugareños han puesto sobre la ermita solo puedo decir que desde la distancia que es como la pude ver "Deslumbraba" y no por su belleza sino por el cambio radical del color si necesitaban un faro en la ría podrían pensar en otra ubicación Por ahora mantengo las 5 estrellas en 1 año como siga ese contraste tan radical que no hay ni como mirarlo se esfumaran varias estrellas como mi interés por volver a visitar la zona

(Translated by Google) A small chapel on top of Mount de la Guía, cared for at least on the outside, with exquisite views of the estuary and the city.

😐 The Bay of Vigo was mentioned in the book “20 000 Leagues Under the Sea” written by Jules Verne. After publishing his book, he visited the city of Vigo aboard his yacht Saint Michel III. The bronze sculpture, made in 2005, was to commemorate to centenary of the death of the writer.
