This is a random but good Japanese restaurant. I didn't try the noodles so err with caution there. But the tempura was lightly battered and fried well. The sashimi was well cut. Not too thick or thin. Fish tasted and looked fresh. They did tend to not have a few dishes which is a bummer as I wanted the mushroom soup but I did end up going for miso. Still good though. I would definitely make this a restaurant to go to when you are in DR.

Delicious, pretty pricey, but definitely worth it. Beautiful little garden outside with real orchids and tasteful decor. Good service, fresh and delicious food. Outdoor seating is available, as well as indoors.

Best Japanese restaurant in RD. Very traditional with best fresh fish around. We ordered mixed tiraditos and the sushi/sashimi combo. Amazing, extremely tasty. Service was perfect also.

Wow, a total no-no! But let’s start with the good: kind and attentive service, tasty ‘mariscos flameados’ to start, and Isobe make roll. The space is large with different seating areas and appropriate for a business meeting as well. Now, the tonkatsu ramen should not even be called as such. The dish was acidic and tasteless, I couldn’t even finish it. The pork was bland and extremely fatty. The noodles were alright. The spicy tuna roll was not spicy nor tuna IMO. The fish did not seem fresh. They didn’t even add ginger slices in our sushi. I’ve had tastier ramen and sushi just a short drive from this restaurant. If you love Japanese food, this may not be the place for you. Truly wish the best to the exec chef and hope they do better going forward.

Service is top notch and they are very attentive. The sushi, rainbow roll and crunchy sushi (not crunchy although tasty) and "udon" (not real udon but still tasty) are good, the matcha tea (cold) is good to have on the side. Will definitely have this place saved to visit again in the future to try other things on the menu. Tatami seating (Zashiki) is also available. On the pricier range of restaurants.

Samurai is the restaurant in the Dominican Republic that comes closest (in terms of atmosphere and dishes in general) to what you will see in Japan. Starting with the atmosphere and the decoration, it gives you the impression that you are visiting Tokyo. A cozy place, despite the amount of people, you can enjoy with friends. The menu has a lot of variety, starting with the dishes of Japanese origin, the one i was able to taste, are not very far from what you will eat in Japan, the decoration of the dishes is more Mediterranean. The other dishes that are Mediterranean inspired, taste ok, not a big deal. Regarding the prices, they vary, but being fresh products, they tend to be a little higher, but they are within budget. The customer service is good, they care to know that you are well and that you are enjoying yourself, but due to the large number of people it can be delayed at some point. Unfortunately there is no parking available, you have to resort to looking for places nearby to be able to park the vehicle. Overall, I thought it's a good place to start a culinary adventure if you plan to visit Japan and want to get an idea of what you'll be eating there.

Great restaurant, great food. Very traditional, authentic. The only downfall of this place is it can get expensive very quickly. There’s no way to avoid it. Prices appear normal but before you know it, you have a 6000 peso bill for one person. $105) That’s more expensive than I’d pay in America. I went a second time and only ordered five or six pieces of Nigiri and a bottle of water. The bill came to over 3000 Dominican pesos, almost $60. So other than the prices, I would recommend this place.

Amazing experience! I would have never thought that I could find such a nice a traditional japonese place and food in domenican republic. The flamed seafood sets a really high standard, the "tiraditos" mixed has a perfect marinated balance to leverage the taste of the fresh fish, their version of Ramen it's delicate and helps to complement other plates like their rock star 'Guatapana con coco' which is a must! (I would totally travel just to try that amazing fusion plate). The roll salad with that sauce ufff... I will just dream about it. Do yourself a favor and try it! I'm fully confident you will fall in love as we did

There is no question that this is one of the best sushi restaurants in the Caribbean. Their coconut and cilantro sashimi is incredible, everything is well thought of and well executed. Pleasant service and traditional, posh settings add to the experience.

One of my fav restuarants in all Santo Domingo!!! Service is out of this world, they greet you with hot lil towels for the hands, they don't force you to buy the most expensive meals. The staff is trained beyond excelence! I went with a friend that recently went to Japan and she loved the sushi and the ramen. This place is perfect for a first date, anniversary, special ocasions. You will not regret, this is 20 out of 10 !

We loved our dinner!! We got udon and hibachi, a piece of tuna nigiri, watermelon mocktail, grape juice, fried ice cream, and chinola mousse. It was excellent. The udon was a little too salty and the tempura shrimp became soggy very quick, but I enjoyed the noodles. The only real issue we had was our server. He was very slow and forgot a few things (like putting in our drink order and then 15 minutes later came back and said they didn’t have the drink, when our food had already come). Looking at the other servers, they were far more attentive with their guests. The atmosphere was very elegant and made for such a special dinner. Our total came to around $7000 DOP for all our food and tip but it was worth the price point.

I visit Samurai at least once a month and I have never once been disappointed with the quality of the food and service. Prices are expensive, but it is totally worth it with what you're getting in return. Pretty much anything in the menu is a delicacy, and you're treated with upmost respect and due diligence The atmosphere is calm and sophisticated, the food is to die for, and the service is top notch. It is truly one of the best restaurants in DR, and I couldn't recommend it enough!

Really nice ambience. The udon soup was not udon noodles though. Nice table settings, clean washrooms, diverse seating areas. Decent food. Expect 700 pesos to 1000 pesos per item. You can follow my travel tips on YouTube @ iVuDang

Supposed to be a high end, one of the best sushi spots in the area. I was not impressed. The food lacked a bit of taste. Service was good tho.

👍👍 The venue is very cute, the view on the ocean is spectacular. The staff was super friendly this day. The food was really good and arrived extremely fast. I had Mofongo (So delicious) and Sancocho (very good)! The only pros was the dessert.
