I
went
to
Ozo
clinic
for
getting
my
first
ever
implant.
I
was
fearful
and
-
although
usually
being
a
very
critical
consumer
-
I
was
persuaded
by
the
treating
dentist
to
first
make
a
CT
scan,
right
now
right
here,
without
being
objectively
(!)
informed
about
the
pros
and
cons
of
the
specific
scan.
Unfortunately
I
agreed.
Several
months
later,
I
now
live
with
a
perfectly
straightforward
implant
from
a
different
dentist
(who
didn't
need
a
CT
scan
beforehand
and
offered
the
treatment
without
a
sophisticated
bone
augmentation
using
autogenous
bone
block
graft,
and
therefore
for
a
much
lower
price).
After
talking
to
several
other
dentists,
even
in
two
countries,
who
shook
their
heads
over
that
a
CT
scan
was
made
and
a
bone
augmentation
was
proposed
for
my
situation,
I
fear
that
I
was
seen
as
a
source
of
income
in
the
first
place
and
after
that
as
a
patient.
I'm
not
bothered
by
the
80
EUR
I
paid
for
the
CT
scan,
but
about
the
possible
health
risks
connected
to
this
unnecessary
CT
scan
(of
course
I
do
understand
that
it
makes
the
work
easier
and
more
comfortable
for
the
dentist).
I
tried
to
find
out
the
actual
radiation
dose
and
asked
the
clinic
admin
in
an
e-mail,
but
my
question
was
not
answered.
Insisting
on
info
I
was
only
told
the
name
of
the
CT
machine
used.
My
personal
advice:
get
a
second
opinion
before
deciding
for
a
potentially
harmful
CT
scan.
In
certain
cases
a
CT
scan
can
make
a
lot
of
sense
-
but
in
my
case
it
didn't.
And
I
will
have
to
live
with
the
fear
that
in
a
decade
or
two,
when
the
sum
of
radiation
from
the
CT
scan
(radiation
dose
unknown)
plus
others,
e.g.
of
natural
sources,
has
accumulated
to
a
certain
threshold,
I
might
develop
tumors.
On
the
positive
side
I
can
say
that
the
clinic
looked
modern
and
clean
and
that
the
well
documented
implant
treatments
of
other
patients,
that
were
shown
to
me,
looked
esthetically
pleasing.
