We usually stay at Hilton properties. 4 star locations are usually all about quality and service. This is decent hotel. It’s a bit dated but nice. The staff seems friendly but not as well trained as other higher end hotels we have stayed. The biggest reason we only gave 2 stars is because they do not answer their phone when you call from your room. Guest services and the restaurant have not picked up the phone the first few days we have been here. We have needed a few items from them (towels and forks). It just rings and rings. We also wanted to have food delivered to our room and called the restaurant. Same deal, rings and rings. A 4 or 5 star place (charging over $400 per night) should pick up their phone and be willing to ensure their guests are happy.

Do not park your car here if you plan to stay. Our car was broken into, along with 22 other cars. We spent 4 hours looking for towing, glass repair, and car rental places open on a Sunday. The hotel claims no responsibility for the damage done because they have a sign up saying they aren’t. Yet, no security or cameras in the lot? It doesn’t make any sense. And above all that, there was a convention there this weekend with massive ads for this event along the interstate, practically making this a target for these break ins. They didn’t even offer anything to help us clean the glass out of our car! Not to mention, the beds were uncomfortable, the staff weren’t the nicest, and the bathroom came stocked with empty bottles. There are better, safer, more enjoyable hotels in this area. Go to them. AVOID THIS PLACE.

I stayed here for three nights for a business trip. It's located conveniently close to the freeway. I was upgraded to a room on the 14th floor which has an executive lounge as a bonvoy platinum elite member. The lounge provided free hot breakfast in the morning, and dessert/snack/drinks in the evening. The room was large, clean and well i maintained. The bed was quite comfortable and I was well rested very night. Everyone from the front desk and the lounge was very friendly and courteous, and made me feel welcomed. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and I will be happy to come back again.

The room was clean, beds were comfortable and the amenities were perfect. The bathroom was also clean. We had breakfast in the club lounge. The lady who maintained the lounge did an excellent job welcoming guests, assisting where needed and cleaning up. I was impressed with her.

The staff has been extremely helpful, kind & accomodating. Not only were there Braves games going on, but there were also three conventions occurring simultaneously. We had an evening "Meet & Great" as well as a lunch catered by the hotel. I was surprised at how delicious the food was. I was expecting the usual boring & bland hotel food. I was wrong! During our Meet & Greet, two different types of stir fry were prepared "table side". During lunch, there was a pasta station where the cooks prepared pasta orders. They also freshly prepared a pasta order for a strict Vegan.

Convenient conference hotel that is connected to the galleria and the convention center. There are couple of malls for lots of shipping and dining options. And it's also a short walk from the baseball stadium. The hotel has a very nice lounge that is readily accessible on the top (14th floor). This hotel also has a central atrium which offers expansive view of the entire property. Very nice 👍👍👍

From the moment you step into the hotel you can tell it’s well taken care of, clean and everyone is welcoming. Everyone is super friendly. My room was extremely clean. I was here attending a conference and we used all the meeting spaces but the best part was the catering! The food was so amazing and displayed beautifully. As a foodie I took lots of food pictures!

Nice 80’s hotel showing its age despite attempts at renovation. They really need to address the room bathrooms, and this place would be close to 5 stars again. Nice restaurant, excellent for breakfast, and the bar is good as well. Fair parking price @ $15/day. Would choose here for price/value is attending Braves games.

I stay at Marriotts all over the country, and this is one of my favorite. The biggest asset to this hotel is the team. They are all super friendly and provide a top level of customer service that you can’t find in many other places! Mrs. O at the front desk truly started it off right! She got me checked in early and was super friendly and bubbly. Then the lovely team in the M Lounge! They remembered me from last years. I was shocked! The food was simple and good in the lounge. Plus it’s on the top floor which has a great view. The bar at the restaurant lobby is wonderful. The food was not very good at all, but the very friendly team sure made up for it! I always look forward to my Atlanta conferences because of this hotel!

The hotel was beautiful and close enough to easily walk to Truist Park using the skybridge. The beds were comfortable and we got a great nights rest after staying out late at the Braves game. I do think they did not completely finish cleaning our room as there were still drinks from the previous patrons in our refrigerator but other than that I have no complaints. Staff was friendly, and amenities were nice. We stayed at the club level with a view of the stadium. It was totally worth it!

I love this place. I always have. I have been coming here since the mid 2000's - when Anime Weekend Atlanta moved to this location. I have spent many years at this hotel and also the convention center itself. It's clean and the staff really are good people. When I do stay there, I do argue that the parking fee is a little high...but there isn't anything you can really do for that. You are paying for convenience and the hotel knows that. Sure, you can take your chances and park at the convention center...but good luck getting a spot.

BRING EAR PLUGS!!! My Family stayed at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly hotel while we were in Atlanta for the Braves Game. Despite some of the negative reviews posted from others, we chose this because of proximity to the Atlanta Braves and Battery area. We did not have any issues with the hotel with the exception of one area (which was mentioned in previous reviews by others). We found the staff to be nice and accommodating, the hotel to be clean and overall nice, everything worked the way it was supposed to. The only negative (which is a big one) is that EVERY night, the staff and security allowed the noise level to be outrageously loud until all hours of the night. The first night, I let it slide feeling like it was a fluke and people were just being VERY inconsiderate. The noise lasted until almost 2 am. We were on the 14th floor and the shouting, cheering and laughter from the lobby was waking us up on multiple levels. The second night it irritated me so much that I went down to see what was going on. Only to find a bunch of people partying, celebrating and the staff and security standing there doing absolutely NOTHING. I would expect much more from a hotel brand that sells high end. We would stay here again and again however seeing the other reviews complaining about the noise and seeing this myself has me rethinking that.

We’ve stayed here before and it has been lovely, however this time was a complete let down. We booked our room months in advance for an event taking place at the hotel all weekend (which is why we chose to stay here). Upon arrival we were told by management that the hotel was overbooked and we were being moved to a hotel down the road. Our room at the other hotel was comped by Renaissance, however it was a lower-end hotel and not walkable to our weekend long event. When we asked why this happened the manager simply said, “They’ve over booked. We’re paying for your other room, now just say thank you.” We were incredibly accommodating and that snarky response was completely uncalled for, we will not be staying with this hotel again, why even make a reservation if it will simply be canceled?

As a former Front Desk Manager with 20 years experience in hotels I have a pretty critical view when I stay in a hotel. Business trip for a convention and of the bat the Waverly impressed me greatly. Room was very clean and spacious. Service was kind and professional, very respectful!!!! Convention services absolutely fabulous organization, efficiently timed and just great. My only constructive criticism is, if you are charging 23$ for your buffet breakfast you have to have Espresso coffee and other options besides eggs and bacon. Thank you.

Although the rooms were clean and the space was beautiful, it was one of the most unfriendly hotels I have ever been to. Staff is not accommodating. Security is nasty even when you are not an issue. We we sitting in seats in the lobby having a quiet conversation between 4 people. The security guard came to us and said, "You're doing ok now, and the longer you stay quiet, the longer you can stay." Why say anything? Another security guard yelled at my husband to get out of the pool. No warning, it was closing & no clock in the pool area. We were told the seating area IN THE LOBBY was closing, and we had to leave. We literally saw the security guards going around harassing groups in the lobby, both young and old. They seem to get a kick out of being rude. It's sad. This would NOT be a place where I would stay again.

Don't forget to use HotelTully.ᴄᴏm when booking any resort. This website will compare hundreds of hotel sites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This hotel is one of my favorites in this area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you choose this place you definitely won't regret it. Went for a conference, but also stayed at the hotel. Such a great place. Rooms are very clean and bed was so comfortable I didn't want to leave! Bar was great and live music enhanced the atmosphere.

Spent three days in the convention area for Southern Fried Gaming Expo 2023 for Vintage Computing Festival SE 10.0. This is what this set of pictures is for. The disabled slots are a little hard to get to, and staff seems a little misinformed about who can park in them (anyone with a placard), but once you get past that part, we were able to unload and setup and spend the weekend here exhibiting. As you can see, the hotel does an amazing job getting everything going well for the group. This venue definitely has this type of activity down pat. Kudos to the staff of the hotel and SFGE for an amazing weekend!

Overall mediocre experience, especially as a titanium Bonvoy member. Final year of the convention using this hotel and you can tell the hotel is not welcoming to the convention goers. None of the benefits of being a member were honored, even simple requests like requesting a certain floor or a late check out were denied. The hotel itself is fine, rooms are in good shape. If you're here for baseball it's a great location. The aggressiveness towards convention goers however has really disappointed me in the Marriott brand, especially towards their loyalty members. Very glad we will not be needing to stay here in the future.

They have always treated con goers like some sort of lepur that they will barely take money from. This last year the con is here they are making it abundantly clear we are unwanted. If it was a one year thing I'd chalk it up to a bad year, but it's been every year. They'd cancel room reservations in favor of anyone else, escalators and elevators always broken, selective enforcing of policies and rules, changing policies after lock in dates, rooms charges for things that never happened, just in general terrible service. The cleaning staff is pretty much the only saving grace.

This is usually our go to hotel for Braves games; however the customer services has gone way down hill at the front desk. This hotel is pet friendly. The room next to us had a dog that barked all day long. We let the front desk know in the afternoon and they said they would let the owner know. We returned to our room at night and the dog was still barking to the point were my kids could not go to sleep. We called down to the front desk again because no action had obviously been taken. They told us they were pet friendly and that they called the owners, but that they were at the Braves game and didn’t know when they would be returning. I understand being pet friendly, but customer service should come first. They should have called the owner earlier and told them that the dog is barking and disturbing other customers so that the owner could take responsibility and control their dog. So just know that being pet friendly is their priority and that they have no issues with you bringing barking dogs to stay if you want too! We eventually had to move rooms at 9:45!

This place has went downhill the past several years. This was a place I looked forward to staying at the past twenty years. Everything was pretty alright until you laid on the beds that basically had bed sized bowl indentions. Worst sleep I've had at this hotel. To top it off, they just said "sorry" and offered nothing as compensation for their crummy beds.

This place is amazing!!! Absolutely beautiful, super pet friendly. The staff are all hospitable (I loved that) The concierge breakfast was delicious and so was the dinner and dessert hour. I could just go on and on about how great the staff is so friendly and helpful. I bc can’t wait to go back!!! And I will recommend them to anyone going to the area.

I was charged for food in the restaurant or room service that wasn’t me. First of all when I checked in the restaurants weren’t even open. Secondly, I left the next morning at 7 AM and the only food I had was in the Club lounge on floor 14. I have called multiple times to get this resolved in each time, the person at the front desk is extremely rude and very unhelpful. I would hope as a loyal Bonvoy member they would want to resolve this as soon as possible, but it doesn’t seem like they do. Will be reporting this charge as fraud immediately since no one seems willing to help.

I have spent a lot of time in hotels. Unfortunately, Marriotts service and convenient amenities don't stack up to Hilton. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's walking distance from the Battery. They told me I wouldn't have the room I had booked due to early check in and then when I went to the room it was what I booked. The digital key never works. We at at the restaurant and the waitress basically forgot we were there. Order was incorrect and then when we asked for more water she never came back. Hotel is clean and rooms were nice. I rated that down due to things that didn't work.

Hotel staff was not accommodating at all. They lacked things on their room service menu and were unwilling to try and make adjustments. Requests were ignored and room smelled musty and had stains on bedding. Didn’t get water and towels, even after requested. I would not recommend Not worth the price.

We attended the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta (January 2024). We had a wonderful stay at the renaissance. The staff were helpful. Charles our bartender, friendly and made the best cocktails! Garry the engineer, he found a piece of jewelry we accidentally dropped down the sink drain - thank you! He was kind and very efficient!

Wow this is a fun Hotel! Came here for the Southern Fried Gaming Expo... please forgive me if that is not what it was called! I just moved here a month ago! But, I'm loving it and had a blast! I know we will be back for more events, but this was so so fun with all the board games, the old school gaming systems you could play, the pinball area and so much more! Everyone seemed pleased and was having a good time!

This place is spacious, timeless and the service is amazing here. I did come here for a conference. The staff kept the bathrooms and areas sanitized and clean. The front desk hotel staff were extremely polite and helpful from check in to check out. Location wise is 👍 access to Cumberland mall and just a hop skip from the Battery. So many great local spots and even inside the galleria area there are restaurants worth checking out!

Wow!!! Customer service was the best at this Marriott property. We arrived early but decided and try to check-in knowing it was unlikely our room would be available. We were greeted by Oosha also known as “Miss O” and she was so kind and helpful. As expected our room was not available and Miss O offered to move us to a different type of room so we could check in early. She could tell we had been traveling and checking in would have benefited us greatly. We did not want to be a burden the staff so we decided to have an incredible lunch in the restaurant and wait for our room. After lunch I decided to check back with Miss O to see if our room was ready and she informed me that it was but she could also put me in a corner suite overlooking the Atlanta Braves stadium. We happily accepted the room change and the view was amazing. It’s customer service like this that will keep me a loyal Marriott fan for life and kind people like Miss O make the world a better place. Way to go Marriott!

Great spot to stay when you're in the area. Staff care about your comfort. Dogs are welcome ($50/ night) and the indoor pool, hottub, and workout/spa area are on point!

There was such great customer service. Two gentlemen at the front desk last night were so helpful. One was Lonnie and I can not remember the name of the guy at midnight. Even though they were almost to capacity due to a Braves game and wedding, they still treated us like we were special. Great location, huge place, and friendly customer service!

I attended a conference last week and there were two people who made my stay special. First, Fabiola at the front desk was the MOST helpful and friendly. My room was not yet ready but she found a way to get me into a room quickly. She was super patient and welcoming the whole time. My second shout out is to Charles at the bar! His service was quick and he was proactive with my Corona beers the whole time. He was a true professional. Take good care of your staff because I wanted to take them home with me to Virginia ha ha. Keep up the great service folks!!!!

Overall great stay. General consensus with my group was the rooms are well equipped but don't pop like the views outside and inside the building. The amenities are great. The gym is fully equipped and spacious. I didn't use the sauna so I can't comment on that. The bar downstairs was great. The staff was nice and helpful as well. The beds themselves were comfortable and the big tvs were a nice touch. The proximity to the Atlanta Braves field is a big draw here. A 10 minute / half mile walk. Plenty of restaurants in the strip by the field. I'd recommend this place for sure.

Stayed there with my son for a sporting event. I’m a Marriott employee. The room was spacious but there was a sticky stain on the nightstand when we checked in. Didn’t make a big deal. I wiped it off myself. Rest of the room was clean. Sunday night around 1am, fire alarm went off in the hotel. Came down the stairs and waited outside for instructions. After firefighters cleared the alarm everyone went back to the hotel. At this point, still no sign of hotel employees to apologize or offer any kind of explanation for what happened. Went back to our room and tried to sleep. Couldn’t sleep till around 4am. Had to drive 10 hours back to VA the same day. Up one check out, I asked the front desk agent what happened last night with the alarm. She said she didn’t know. I asked if they are planning to offer any kind of compensation for the inconvenience from it, the answer was “at this point , we are not offering any compensation.”. I then asked if there is a manager to speak to. She said the manager will be here in about a hour. I couldn’t wait for it so i asked the agent to have the manager to call me when she gets in. It’s been over 3 days and I have called back 2 more times trying to speak to a manager. No replies and no call backs. What is so hard to call your guests and offer explanations about something happened during their stay?? Am I being unreasonable with my request? Or the hotel management just don’t bother to call me because I booked the room with Marriott discount rate so I’m not considered “valuable”? Very disappointed with front desk management. I hope your GM sees this review and do something about it.

Great location in relation to the ball field. Also has a galleria attached where you can shop and get a little food over at Murph's. The hotel rooms are a bit dated. Funnel shaped bathtub made for an interesting shower experience. Just be careful getting in and out. It was good for what we needed, which was walking distance to the Braves stadium. They had a car show going on the same weekend we were there, which made parking a pain. Overall, it was fine, just a bit outdated. Coffee in the lobby is good, but a little expensive.

  • 3/5 rid29651 R. 5 months ago on Google
The area is extremely busy. Not all rooms have good views. Your wi-fi carrier is somewhat blocked if it is on a lower level. 3 rooms were booked for a party of 12, wanting them to be close, 4 months in advance. We were on 2 floors, and many rooms apart. One room only had 1 bed. No cots or extra covers offered. The chair upholstery was rough texture, elbows got scraped.

I wanted to say this place is pretty standard and has all of the property and room amenities one would expect for the nightly rate, but then I remembered that I arrived 45 minutes after check-in and was told the room wasn't ready and that they would call me as soon the cleaning staff finished. Then I remembered that an hour later I had to go to the front desk to ask if my room was ready and was told that they were able to "move some things around to keep me on the same floor" and, yes, I could enter. Then I remembered that they did not have soap or shampoo of any kind in the room. I will remember all of these points next time I need a hotel room in the area.

Hotel is perfect . Lol this place has no free or reasonable food and water. Lucky you can easily walk to the shopping center and get something.. DO NOt GO to the ups store down stairs . They wanted to charge me $50 for box I dropped off ) I already bought the shipping labels) . I had to go across the street to drop the boxes off ( for free) . Only reason I even booked this hotel was for the ups store.

Beautiful hotel and great view from our room of the braves baseball stadium. Very clean spacious room. I have to say though, the staff is exceptional. PROS: Harrison at desk when we checked in. He was knowledgeable and made us feel welcome!!! Rooms were super clean and comfy beds!!! CONS: Tasha James and Mona: 1st Tasha denied our request for late check out claiming sold out property however opening availability showed on line. She LIED!!! Mona(Manager) only made excuses for Tasha lies. Tasha and Mona reason only 4 stars. Could have been 5 if only staff did not lie to guest and manager did not make excuses for staff lies.

We spent 4 nights at this location recently. The room was very comfortable. The queen beds didn't seem like a standard queen, but a little smaller. They were still quite comfortable. The location was close to everything. We could be to shopping and restaurants within minutes. The staff was very accommodating. We had an issues where our keys were lost and the staff quickly deactivated them and issued new ones. The food options on site were a bit pricey. It would've been nice to have a complimentary breakfast considering the nightly rate. I wish there had been more affordable options. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay.

This hotel is just a solid place to stay. I'm giving it five stars because I went to the Battery Park area and spent a ton of money on mediocre drinks and food throughout the week. This hotel has a refrigerator by the front desk that they have stocked with the best food I've had. No joke. I had a Cobb salad that could feed two people and it was delicious!!! They had a chocolate cheesecake that was better than any dessert that I tried in this area. Normally I would not eat food out of a refrigerator hotel's front desk. The food is surprisingly great! Everyone is super nice. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in a king suit and it was absolutely amazing! We had two bathrooms and a living room. Our son loved having his own bathroom and his own TV to control. We went to a Braves game and the walk over was not long and pleasant. The traffic getting out wasn’t bad either. This would have been a 5 star review however, we called the front desk twice asking for extra blankets and pillows. After waiting about 2 hours, we went and got them ourself from the front desk. That was the only disappointment from our trip.

Good location but the customer service is awful! They accidently charged me for two days stay when I prepaid through Delta Vacations. I've tried to call multiple times to get this rectified. Ashley, the manager, said she would fix the issue when I checked out. She never did. She was very rude acting like it was my fought that they made the mistake. Please make sure you get a receipt before you leave/checkout. I'm giving my stay a 1 star alone because the bad customer service. In the past, this use to be a preferred hotel of mine when visiting Atlanta. I'm not one to leave bad reviews. I usually give companies a chance to rectify problems before leaving a bad review because people do make mistakes. It has been weeks and this issue hasn't been resolved. I will never stay at the hotel again.

I attended a conference in Atlanta, a city I haven’t been to in years, and the service at the Waverly was impeccable. Check-in was friendly and efficient, questions were answered promptly and everyone working in the hotel, from dining, housekeeping to gift shop were some of the kindest people I’ve met in a long time. Thank you for making my experience a great one. At a time when I know hotels are running light on staff, you all made me feel taken care of. Thank you so much for everything you do!

I love this property. This stay matched previous in cleanliness, service and staff excellence. In particular, Andrew at the front desk is top notch. Dealt with a long line of check-ins by himself for a convention I attended and didn’t miss a beat. Friendly, personable, sweet and professional. Kudos to a job well done by everyone I encountered!

What a treat! I stayed at the Waverly for a few days attending a convention. My room was very clean. The best was very comfortable. The staff were all super nice and professional. I bumped into one of the guys from the restaurant as he was leaving for the day. Although he was leaving he was nice enough to come to me and greet me and asked if I was enjoying my stay. He even asked if I needed anything! Even the bell service staff and security were all very friendly. No doubt in my mind I would love to stay here again!

Came for a business function and “above and beyond” doesn’t even begin to cover it. The accommodations in the rooms were great and the beds were clean and comfortable. The rooms were spacious even considering how many they had. Everyone of the staff was welcoming and friendly and managers checked in with people at all levels, not just the main company contact points. The front desk is extremely quick to help and door greeters seem enthused to be doing their jobs. The staff at the diners and bar were outstanding and they always had recommendations and a smile. Event rooms were spacious and well temperature controlled for large groups. Navigation was easy and effortless within the building and this is easily one of the best well oiled machines for conference centers that I’ve seen across the country. Location near the Battery and in the Galleria made short trips by walking or shuttle a breeze. Seriously could not say enough wonderful things about the Waverly Renaissance in Atlanta.

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a place. This web site will compare hundreds of booking websites and typically will have rates much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of my favorites in this area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't be disappointed. Surprised my husband with a stay-cation. This hotel was an excellent choice! Clean room that was a nice size. Bathroom was a little small but clean. The bed and pillows were so comfortable!! Beautiful hotel. Disappointed that the sauna was closed but would definitely stay again.

Overall, it was an alright hotel. I wasn’t a big fan of the layout and the open floors. I could hear music playing for most of the night every night and a lot of the louder guests echoed. It made it hard to sleep. You could definitely hear the TV of the person next door as well. The restaurant was convenient but overpriced. Personally, I wouldn’t choose to stay again. This is the first four star hotel that I’ve stayed at that charges for non-valet parking, which is kind of odd. They seemed to charge for almost everything like a cost based hotel, but I guess the premium price is just the base. It’s a very centric place that I assume is meant for mostly business trips and conferences. It’s probably not the best hotel for tourists.

I recently stayed here for the Anjelah Johnson show and had a fantastic stay. Tia, at check-in, was fantastic! Upon arrival she greeted us warmly and notated our status with Marriott, but not in the common uncaring way where they just notate your status and move on. She truly made me feel valuable. She told us that they could help us by courtesy car to get to the venue without my even having to ask. What a wonderful asset to your team! Further, at the Elite lounge Karon was absolutely splendid. She made me wish we were spending more time at your venue. On top of that the rooms were clean and the view was wonderful. The final item I truly enjoyed was that you had stations where I could fill up my water bottle. That is always a main concern for me when I travel and I find I have to end up using plastic bottled water, so it was a treat that I didn’t have to worry about this item. Well done!

We visited the lounge in the main lobby and Todd was our bartender. The hotel is beautiful as always. We've been coming here for over 10 years on an annual basis. The glass elevators are super cool. Todd was very friendly, gave us excellent service and is a hard worker. He took good care of us. Its very relaxing and the Christmas tree was still up on new years day. We enjoy everytime we come.
