Don't come here, if you're looking for a gym that value it's members and not only 💰. The manager is soo cocky and unprofessional. I signed up 6months ago cos I thought they supported multiracial people and military veterans. Unfortunately, there is always an awkward, unfriendly reception everytime I walk in there. Yesterday I switched my car so forgot my gym keys. Some guy who knows I gym there daily got me in. The manager came in latter, had the nerves to interupt my workout session and reprimanded me in a very demeaning manner, saying he will have to suspend my key for 24hrs because I wasn't supposed to enter the gym if I forgot my key. Eventhough I explained to him that i live 35mins away and forgot my keys, he kept rambling about policies being followed. I understand there are policies, but there's a professional way to handle certain issues. 1)Make allocations for 24hrs staff if you run a 24hr facility with rigid policies. 2)You don't interrupt someone's workout to reprimand them. Politely talk to them on their way out. I pay $50 monthly to release accumulated stress from military deployments and not to get disrespected over a situation that can happen to anyone. I guess being a black female, made him think it's okay to belittle me during my workout. Never felt this awkward during a workout.

I got a guest pass here ($25) & it didn't disappoint. The equipment is top notch from Prime Fitness, Hammer Strength, Arsenal, and Atlantis machines. This is a great gym to do back or shoulders! It was very clean and the staff were friendly. They have their own pro shop in their gym. Dumbbells went up to 150lbs. I would recommend to anyone in the area who is looking for a gym with great equipment and a great environment!

Got a membership to American Barbell two weeks before they moved. Was under the impression that all the equipment would be in the new gym. Come to find out majority of the stuff I would have used was on there "cut list". I would have thought that "hey some this stuff wolnt be in the new location " "we have a cut list" would have came up. But no. Canceled my membership inside my first month. Wasn't even offered my 30 day cancelation payment compensated. So they got $150 for a 3 week membership. So to sum it up I was lied to about the equipment, the owner took zero responsibility for his lies. Don't go to this gym, the owner only cares about your money coming in. One of the worst unprofessional handling of situations. I wish I could give them a zero star.

American Barbell is an excellent facility, owned and run by an exceptional individual, who has poured his life into creating the best possible experience for his members. The vast majority of these members are very loyal because we've watched Nate, the owner, build his business from the ground up over these past several years. He started as a personal trainer, then risked his savings to open up the doors at the initial gym location. Fighting through the pandemic closures, he tenaciously persevered and opened up the temporary facility in his own backyard while the permanent gym was being built. He is now expanding the gym to be nearly 3x the size. Don't be misled by the couple of poor reviews - absolutely everyone is welcome there. The only people who tend to have issues are those who feel that the simple rules of the facility, which are clearly stated, don't apply to them. As a 24-hour, privately owned, and non-chain business, members are required to use their fobs to access the facility outside of staffed hours for safety and liability concerns. Basic and proper gym etiquette is also expected. It's precisely because Nate has and enforces such rules, that American Barbell is such a great place to work out!

Hands down the best gym in Columbus and central ohio. I’m a body builder and able to do everything I need and more. Also have a membership for my son who is a freshman in high school. Gym is great for anyone at any level. Also the vibes are unmatched here!

Great new gym ! Great atmosphere and plenty of equipment. Full indoor basketball court and saunas also cold plunge tanks! Definitely recommend!

This gym is amazing. I was a little intimidated to join a new gym but Nate the owner made me feel extremely comfortable and welcome. All the equipment is top notch and everyone is so nice! My favorite part is the cold plunge, it makes me feel brand new. I cannot recommend this place enough!

American Barbell is the best gym you could ask for. It is so clean, very well run and spacious. It's definitely created with the client in mind. There's a lot of pride that has gone into its creation and in going maintenance . The atmosphere is welcoming, inspiring and extremely encouraging. I’ve been bringing my son here to train with Nate for over a year now. Great atmosphere and top notch equipment! The staff has a way of making everyone feel welcome. Nate’s been amazing for training and it’s awesome watching my son’s strength/speed & agility improve! Every so often I’ve gotta bring my younger son and Nate always makes sure to include him too!

I’ve been a member here for the last 4 years!! American Barbell Gym is hands down the best gym in town! It's got everything you need for a killer workout. The equipment is top-notch and always in perfect condition. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to help you reach your fitness goals. The atmosphere is motivating and the place is always clean.

I can’t say enough nice things about this gym, and the owners Nate and Courtney! They have every piece of equipment one could possibly desire. The space is very open and clean. Members are motivated and cheer on each-others journeys. Moreover, the staff/owners are very intelligent and friendly they have clients’ best interests in mind. I’m finally able to stick to my routine, feel better and be my favorite self :) thank you for providing such a great space!

American Barbell gym has exceeded all of my expectations. The gym is impressive, clean and offers additional programs. I joined the gym almost a year ago and took advantage of one of their programs. I've been training with Courtney for 8 months now and have been happy with my results. Highly recommend to join this gym if you need an extra push to reach your goals.

I've been a member since July 2022. This facility was top notch even before the expansion. The expansion has exceeded everyone's expectations of what was possible here. The staff, the environment, and the owner all deserve 10 stars if I could give it.

American Barbell is the real deal. Excellent facilities. Outstanding staff. Clean locker rooms and equipment. Hands down the best gym my wife and I have been to. Not over crowded and extremely affordable rates. Bonus is it's a 24/7 gym. Love it here.

Best gym in Columbus! All plate loaded machines, plenty of places to squat/ bench/ deadlift, has everything you could need. Great community and everyone is nice. Love that they have a sauna and even cold plunges. Far superior than any commercial gym I have been to!

Best gym in Columbus, OH by far. A lot of equipment so I never really have to wait for someone to finish or worry about not having a necessary piece of equipment to get a good workout in. Also it's CLEAN and the equipment doesn't break. If it does it's fixed almost immediately unlike other gyms around town. Highly recommend!

Since I’ve began weightlifting many years ago I’ve searched for the best gym in the Columbus area. I’ve found it here. A great atmosphere, state of the art equipment/amenities , and a spacious gym floor are a few of the highlights of this facility. A would recommend anyone in the area come here for a great workout.

I had a membership about a year ago, and it was just an amazing experience. The gym it’s self is very clean, the staff was always very nice and they have a ton of cool equipment. I felt very safe there. Would totally recommend this place to anyone !

I've tried numerous gyms out in my life and this place is by far the best. Not super crowded. Other guests are nice and considerate. Gym is always clean. Free sauna. And a variety of machines to keep your workouts from becoming stagnate. Oh, and not a bunch of huge super grunts screaming when they lifts weights that are too heavy. Go in the morning and talk to Alaina. She is the absolute best. Try out the cold plunge; it'll wake you up and set you up for a successful day!

I've followed Nate ( the owner ) for years, having been a member of his original location when he first opened up in Pickerington. Few people have the heart and dedication it takes to start and maintain a thriving gym business, I think. The big gym facility in Canal Winchester that just opened up a year ago is now being expanded into a larger facility. If the first phase wasn't impressive enough- I cant imagine what Nate has in store for the second phase. The first phase is packed full of NEW innovative workout and muscle building equipment- there's lots of Rogue and Prime Fitness machines. A lot of gyms I've experienced have older machines. Nate reinvests his revenue into more, new state of the art equipment throughout the year. Every few months you'll see a new toy added to the arsenal. Nate is a local guy with a family who deeply cares about his business, has great vision and desires to have one of the best if not best workout facilities in the Central Ohio area- and it shows. Be sure to check out this gym- I think it's the best around.
