Great place to enjoy lunch or visit. The smoked Mahi cold plate is the best!! The chicken salad is great too. They have fresh farm eggs you can buy. Tons of amazing desserts, which I haven’t tried yet but look delicious. Very quaint and friendly. Absolutely a must stop in when your in the southern area of Virginia Beach. We are lucky that we live so close. 😊

We were on Mount Pleasant Rd in Chesapeake attending a basketball game. At the end my daughter ask about going to pingo area to a placed called Back Bay Market and Deli. We arrived 20 mins later to a country eatery from back in the day. Wife had the French Dip as did son-in-law. Daughter had Brisket, friend had Chicken Salad. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! Dine in or take out the level of Deliciousness is the same. Great drink choices, 12 flavors of ice cream. Pies and cake another items to choose from. Oh, I almost forgot. Very affordable. The team will not disappoint.

Wow ! When you first walk in you immediately recognize the transformation of this old building back to its glory days with its modern touches. Staff & Owners personally greeted us and answered our questions about their specials and regular menu. The hardest part now deciding what to order as I wanted it all! pictured: Hatteras Clam Chowder satisfies any true waterman Beef Brisket sliced thin melts in your mouth Egg/Potato salad reminds me of my grandmothers’ real deal Sunday special Coleslaw with wasabi great unique combination Pickle snapped as it should fresh and delicious COLLARDS…. Saved this for last …. Wish I had a bucket full!!!! Perfect amount of what good collards should contain. Highly recommend putting this place on your regular rotation when eating out! Portion…. My girlfriend and I stopped by this afternoon and was blown away by the staff and atmosphere The owner came and talked to us and was very friendly. The food was AMAZING. I ordered the brisket grilled cheese and tacos and my girlfriend ordered a Reuben sandwich, the first bite made me feel like i was back home. This is my now go to spot to eat. I even ordered another brisket grilled cheese to take home. You can tell the food is made with LOTS OF LOVE.

My guy & I have been visiting Back Bay Market & Deli weekly and we've enjoyed every single thing we've ordered! It is an amazing addition to the Pungo community.

Went around lunchtime on a Sunny Saturday so the place was packed. Very limited seating, making order to go the fastest way to eat your meal. The staff in high grear to accommodate all the orders.

What an amazing and charming place to eat! Off the beaten path, deep in the heart of Pungo. A must go-to place when headed either direction down Princess Anne Road. Lovely Crab cake sandwich special and the Rueben is TO-DIE for!!! I’m still drooling 🤤!!!

This is now one of my favorite places. I could eat here everyday. It’s absolutely adorable inside and out. Even has outdoor seating with hand cut flowers on all the tables. the food was amazing. They use boars head meats! It’s so hard to find a good deli and we are so excited we found this hidden gem! The people were sweet welcoming and helpful too. Couldn’t say anything bad about the place at all. Can’t wait to go back!!

Such a quaint place. I got the club sandwich and it was so good. The bread was very fresh. Their ice cream is good too.

This place feels like home. The vibe is so welcoming. The food is fresh and delicious. The turkey on cranberry is like thanksgiving in your mouth. The decor embraces everything Pungo and country living. I felt like I child again seeing all the Strawberry Festival posters. Steve and Jenn themselves are delightful. Their neighborly personalities and conversations are top notch just like the menu. It’s hard to stay away! Do yourself a favor and get your dessert first because the sandwiches are so filing.
