August 2022 paid the $4 spectator & walk out on the fishing pier. A beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. I didn't fish but I could see other people had caught quite a few fish. Seagulls everywhere flying. It is a nice spot to stop in that may not be as crowded as some other places along the shoreline. A nice viewing area.

Nice pier to fish from when you are in town! Fishing is great, all you need is to pay $12 to fish all day on the pier whether you are from Virginia or from another state. They are open from 6 am to 12am . Plus it's close to hotels another convenience.

Very sturdy, just a little sway. Charged 4.00 per person even for 2 year old, 20oz drinks are 3.00 and most items in the store were overpriced. Majority of fishermen were nice some were rude. They have a cleaning station and view finders for 25 cent. The pier offers a place to take awesome pictures and magnificent sites.

Went in evening. Saw dolphins! Lots of people fishing. Everyone was friendly. It cost $3 per person to go on the Pier. That was a first! Privately owned...who knew? We had dinner and there were a couple of nice souvenir type stores open. I didn't give it 5 stars because of the two homeless guys sleeping on benches on boardwalk right by the Pier.

My son caught a few fish, and we had a good time. The only thing I didn't like was the mass amount of inconsiderate fisherman that would cross lines every cast. Honestly if you are really wanting to catch big fish, pay the local fishing charters to take you. I would recommend trying crab potting

This beach is beautiful! I didn't go on the pier because I didn't feel it was worth paying to walk out to look over and walk back. If I had been going to fish, yeah, I wouldn't have minded paying. My favorite part was the birds. They were so funny.

This was our 1st time visiting Virginia Beach or the fishing pier. We usually go to ocean city Maryland and fish off the free fishing pier so it was a little different having to pay each day. And my husband didn't read the sign and was paying $13 each day instead of doing like a 3 day pass for $30. So make sure that you read the sign, they also have a military and senior discount. But overall the pier was nice & we caught quite a few fish and he even caught a sting ray. If you want a good spot though you need to arrive early because it was fairly busy each day during the end of July.

Awesome! Only thing is they shut it all down and lock up at midnight. Prices went up a dollar from last year. It's now 13 to fish and 4 to walk on pier. Views are amazing though. We caught crab, fish and 🐚.

I had an amazing time on the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier! A day of fishing and premium beach parking for under twenty dollars is hard to beat in this area. I addition, a great restaurant too cool off in and grab a bite to eat is really nice. The tackle shop is sufficient and comparable to other piers I've fished. I met some great people while I was on the pier and appreciated everyone seemed to be helping each other out during the day. And as an additional treat (for myself especially), every few minutes, a pair of F-18s would fly by on their way to land at NAS Oceana.

So, this is a nice walk for $4 if you like to view the beach and ocean from the pier. We sat near the restaurant and relaxed in the beautiful view and breeze. There is a restaurant and a small shop on the pier. I don't fish, but a lot of people were out there enjoying the fishing for $13 a trip. I like that they had a way to save hooked sea turtles.

How can you walk the beach without walking out the pier? There were many people both fishing and catching crabs. We saw two separate people catch (and carefully release) sting rays! It was cool to see all along the beach from out in the water.

Nice pier w/ good seating avail for. non-fishers. Pier cost $3 per non-fishers & $12 per fisher/crabbers. This is no return admission. Parking is $10/car day rate. There is ramp vs stairs access to pier so it makes a nice h/c accessible stroll. There is a gift/tackle shop & some food options avail by delivery on pier.

We had a great time. Food was good the water was nice the sand was soft. Everyone was so friendly. We are planning to return for a full weekend visit instead of just passing thru overnight. My children had a blast and collected tons on sea shells.

Very cool! We walked down the boardwalk from the hotel to the pier. You pay a little to get in and you pay a little more if you're fishing. Lots of benches and areas to clean your catch. Wonderful to walk down and smell the ocean, see the length of the beach, and take in the scenery and fishing action around you.

Very nice and very crowded. People are very nice and every one mind their own. It started raining and thundering. It was great to see the lifeguards in action asking People to leave due to the storm.

Love this spot! I wish I had found this earlier in the season. Great fishing! The regulars are the sweetest and very helpful. Ms. Marie and Dominique, (,the regulars) are skillful and good at what they do.

Gorgeous spot! I love this pier, it’s so fun yet relaxing to watch the waves crash against the poles. There’s also a bunch of seafood spots and touristy shops in the area (even a couple on the pier). Highly recommend watching a sunset here!

Nice looking pier but you have to pay to fish / crab / walk on it if you want to walk on the end. Watched from the beach and Eddie’s Oceanfront restaurant. Below is very beautiful too. Cute area and good if you want to just fish for a little bit.
