Do not stay here. Price was good and check in was good. However the hotel is not nice inside at all. It seems very old. Pool inside and out were dirty and there was trash on the ground. The hot tub seemed that it had not been cleaned in a month. Elevator is small and the halls smelled. After a day at the beach we came back to sleep. My daughter found a blood stain on her bed and a spider as well. One of the two pack n plays I received for my baby was missing parts and they did not have another. They forgot to give me sheets and a blanket for the pack n play so I went downstairs to get one and then the sheets they gave me had a flea on it. They gave me 100$ off my final bill, and even though I will never go there again. I suggest you do not as well.

The hotel feels very aged and run down. The check-in process was okay- however it was frustrating to get into three elevators before finding our room. (Ask where you should enter to prevent this on your stay.) The hallways and elevators are in need of a deep clean/repair. The room had quite a few things wrong. The carpet was ripped (and seemed to have sharp carpet tacks sticking out), the floors were slippery like they were cleaned with the wrong chemicals, there was peeling wallpaper, as well as stains covering the curtains, doors, walls, and even the ceiling. The room lacked a phone to call the front desk. Some pros- the bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. The jacuzzi tub was large enough for two people. The view was great with an angled patio towards the beach. Parking was free. And the beach access was easy. Understanding it was Memorial Day weekend, it would be more expensive than usual, the cost per night with the repairs and fixes needed were not appropriate.

The hotel is located on the North End of VA beach, away from the crowd. That was something I was looking for since we have young children, and wanted a more quieter experience. The view was spectacular. We were in an Oceanfront room and we were able to catch the sunrise from our balcony. The restaurant was delicious and conveniently located downstairs. There was ample parking throughout our stay, and the indoor and outdoor pool was a plus. My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Wyndham !

The best part of my stay was Katey at the front desk. She was very helpful and great customer service. However that's where it stops. I went to my room for the night on my first night to find my bag missing. I'm still waiting for the night guy to call me back. My bag was recovered only to find it was negligence on the hotels part. I was not offered any kind compensation, reimbursement or even an apology from the management. Katey did apologize and did give me some personal items i.e. deodorant, toothbrush etc. I also had to walk past vomit in the hallway for 2 days because it wasn't cleaned up. My credit card was billed months ago for the room but then after check out my card was billed again for taxes. Why was that not included in the original bill? I gave a 3 star rating solely because of Katey. She is truly a great asset to the hotel and they are lucky to have her. Beyond that not really a good experience.

We went for a family vacation and were able to bring our dogs with us. Yea the rooms need some updating from what we understood they are in the process of updating rooms and the rest of the hotel. The restaurant was awesome with great service. There were things that happened on our stay but the hotel took care of these right away but have no control over what happened.. for example someone threw something off their balcony and someone threw up on the hallway, when mentioned to the front desk someone was on it within minutes.

Very dissatisfied with my stay! First thing we’ve noticed when we walked in our oceanfront room was a huge roach! It made me uncomfortable the rest of my stay. The water temperature in the room was extremely hot! There was water seeping out of the floor in front of the door in our room. Room smelled terrible. We didn’t bother with the pool because it looked green. Very ghetto for sure!! Hotel looked nothing like what’s listed online!

Staying at this hotel was absolutely mortifying. We were placed in 3 different rooms throughout our three-night stay and each one was worse than the last. Staff never came to look at any of the rooms but continued to move us when we called or went to the front desk to tell them about the issues we were having. Carpets in the rooms and hallways were filthy, there were holes in the walls, the towels were stained, there were stains on the walls and carpet, the microwaves & refrigerators were dirty, there was water leaking through the sliding door and the window (over top of the A/C heating unit), the A/C heating unit stopped operating, the A/C heating units had mold on/in them, and one of the rooms reeked of urine and/or smelled of mold/mildew. Room 312, water began to pour into the room onto the floor from the window above the A/C heating unit. There was a power outage that affected certain areas of the hotel (which room 1205 and 512 were affected by). Room 1205, we had water coming in from the sliding door and from the window above the A/C heating unit. We had no running water, the toilet could not flush due to there being no running water (Friday evening and all night) and we had to walk up multiple flights of stairs throughout our stay to get to and from our rooms. The times we were moved to other rooms, we had to do this with no help from staff at the Wyndham. We had to carry luggage up and down stairs due to the elevators being out. With the power being out on some levels, this caused complete darkness in some of the stairwells. Room 512 had towels on the floor at the sliding doors when we were moved into this room. There were no towels in the bathroom at all. This room reeked of urine along with mold/mildew smells. We had to sleep with the sliding door open to try and breath fresh air not urine or mold/mildew. We contacted the front desk on multiple occasions requesting the GM, to no avail. The only response we ever received was to move to another room. I had clothing that was left in room 312, which was never retrieved, and I never received a phone call back. Prior to leaving the Wyndham on Sunday, I asked about a resolution and was told that the General Manager stated that he was not doing anything for any of the guest. I am currently experiencing health issues from the inhalation of mold/mildew.

My wife and I, spent a weekend gateway in VA Beach. I like the location because was less crowded due to the low season as well. The check-in and check-out was efficient, and smoothly. I loved the restaurants and bars only 5 min. away driving. Amenities can be improved, the outdoor pool was closed. I also suggest the bar downstairs/outside can offer deals to guests and promote the place.

I wish I could give zero stars on the service. We arrived at a little after 4 (their published check in time is 4) and we were told that our room was not ready. Ok fine we said, we will go for a walk on the beach. Come back at 5:30 and are told again that our room was not ready. When I asked the logical question of "when will it be ready" I am told "I don't know, we will call you". So first of all, you seriously can't tell me at least an approximate eta when you are already an hour and a half late? To make a long story short we tried to make the best of it and at 10:30pm when we still had not received a phone call, we went back at which time the guy said, "oh, your room has been ready for over an hour, didn't they call you?". No, no they didn't call us. I've been in probably 100 hotels, and this is by far the least valued I have ever felt. Oh, and by the way, the room was beat up and the best feature in it (the view from the balcony) was unavailable because the door was blocked from opening. When I called down to ask about it the front desk guy indicated that they knew some rooms had blocked off balconies because of some kind of maintenance and there was nothing to do about it. So yeah, pretty much worst hotel experience ever, and I will certainly never stay at this dump again.

I would’ve given more stars because we enjoyed the hotel itself. It had nice rooms, good amenities, however, we arrived late, didn’t catch the guys name while checking in. But we could tell he was extremely racist to my husband. He had reddish hair and worked evening shift, then he made a rude comment to us about our baby. Everyone else at the front desk seemed so kind following this incident. I was extremely upset with the way he treated my husband. And honestly the rude comment about my son too. Also, I asked him if they had sunscreen, as I thought I noticed for purchase at checkout. He rudely said yeah we have it, but it’s not free. You have to buy it. Which I couldn’t believe he would say. Extremely unprofessional. As we weren’t looking for freebies, we were looking to purchase. But instead of asking him to purchase after his rude comments, we waited til the next day. Til we received better service. Had I not been exhausted from our travel, I would’ve wanted to speak to a manager that evening. I was completely caught off guard. He was so rude to my husband that it hurt to watch. With my husband being a different nationality it proved he is racist. Very unfortunate. My husband may be a different nationality. But he is trilingual. So he’s very educated and I’m proud of him handling the ignorance as well as he did. Steer clear of this front desk associate and you’ll enjoy your stay.

My family and I visited for my birthday. We had the 2 bedroom suite. It was clean. It's says oceanfront but it was really a oceanview...It was nice view though. Had plenty of space for all of us. The water pressure is not so great but it was enough to wash off. For the price, it should definitely have a stove. The restaurant was very over priced and the food was not good. So we had to go buy food elsewhere. The pool and hot tub was nice. Really think the pool should be bigger for the size of this hotel. Overall, I enjoyed it.

This was an amazing experience! The staff was great, caring , and had recommendations to get my night started! Bring shower shoes, the showers was not the best! But the price, location, and room overall was definitely worth it!! I will be booking again!!!

Although we had a beautiful view, and the staff was awesome, the room smelled of dog pee (pet friendly), the toilet was very loose from the floor, and there were bugs splattered all over the ceiling. Also, there was only hot water, so taking a shower was a bit difficult. But all in all, it was nice and quiet and the view of the beach with the dolphins, absolutely perfect.

Hotel was okay. The view from our room was beautiful but it’s outdated and could benefit from some type of renovation or updates. It’s a little far from the actual strip so just be prepared for that. Had to make more than a few calls to the front desk about issues in my room but the agent at the desk, Kayla, was so kind and sweet every time my husband or I spoke with her and made sure everything was taken care of in a timely manner. All in all, it’s not a terrible hotel but it definitely needs work.

My husband and I stayed here in 2018, and again this past weekend. Again - 5 stars!!! This weekend, we checked in around 8pm and we were greeted with the wonderful hospitality and customer service from Dylan and the manager on duty (so sorry we did not catch your name!) Both very welcoming and friendly. Our room was very clean, a nice welcome note from Jennifer, and we so very much enjoyed our stay. We loved having an oceanfront room and being able to fall asleep and wake up to the sound and sight of waves in the ocean. When we checked out, Dallas was wonderful and friendly as well! We will be coming back :)

Overall, our stay was good at an affordable price. We checked in at a busy time , Sunday at 5. Our rooms were not quite ready and we had to wait about 10 minutes. A bellman asked us if he could help us with a cart and even parallel parked our SUV upon request. Overall the hotel had many visible cosmetic flaws and what seemed to be some needed upgrades. But everything was is working condition. Beds were comfy. Our room was clean and smelled fine. The sliding glass door to get to the balcony was very hard to open . The staff was helpful and friendly. The pool was very busy and we did not go in because we swam in the ocean. Beach access is great as this hotel is located in a quieter end of town. There were two lifeguards on duty from 10 am to 6pm (mid august)

First a foremost there was no hot water. We let the shower run for 10-15 minutes in just about every possible configuration and we were only able to get hot water for our first shower the first night we arrived. After that it was cold showers. The place is extremely dated and it shows, didn’t feel like anything had been updated since the date of construction aside from the TV. It’s also a solid ~1.5miles away from any kind of service building, eateries, or anything recreational. Upside, the beach is just right there. Would never recommend.

Cons: The hallway to our smelled awful but thankfully our room didn't. There were ants randomly throughout the room, including the bathroom. The shower head was probably due for replacement and did not have comfortable setting. Shower was completely missing caulking in places. The toilet seat was loose. Shower did not get very hot. And our lamp by the TV flickered. Pros: Very easy check-in. Very affordable pet fee. Comfy beds and pillows. Easy access to the beach. Beautiful view from the room. Heated light with a timer in the bathroom.

Awful stay. No hot water in newly renovated bathroom. Generator hummed all night, disrupting sleep. Lost my air pod due to having to unexpectedly switch rooms due to no hot water. Traveled with another group of friends. Some of their rooms were unacceptable as well. Bugs all on the wall. Had to leave and go stay at another hotel and only received 30% of their $ back.

Really liked this hotel for the fact that it's in a quiet area. It's currently going through renovations which is needed. We stayed in a room that had yet to be renovated and it wasn't horrible. Everything worked, the sheets were clean, and we LOVED the view (we were on the top floor). If you're looking for a hotel that's within walking distance of everything, this is NOT the hotel for you. We wanted to be away from the main beach area so this location was perfect for us. One of my favorite things about this hotel is the restaurant-- Surf Club Ocean Grill. Ray at the bar was awesome!!! He is a big part in us wanting to come back again. We went in January so it was cold outside but once the hotel is all fully renovated, we will definitely be staying here again!

Missing amenities, such as microwave and refrigerator. I’m saying this because it was understood to be included. So they brought a refrigerator to the room but for whatever reason we couldn’t get the microwave😕 Then there was the situation of the smell of room it was pretty pungent or like dirty wet clothes. But the view to the beach was amazing. The bed was comfortable. The shower had some mold spots. Other than those issues the stay was decent. Will we stay again… it’s possible but we’d keep looking first, just saying🤷🏽‍♀️

Great location! The rooms do need to be updated and the halls are HOT! The outdoor pool needs to be serviced. The top step on the ladder on the left side of the pool was loose and the bolt almost came out. There also isn't a way to get into the outdoor pool if you were handicap. The staff was friendly and they do have a restaurant and the staff there was TOP NOTCH! All of the food was extremely good! I would stay here again just because of the restaurant.

Overall a great weekend! The usual wear on room, but can't complain for the great views and being right on the beach! Beds were very comfortable and I was impressed on the low level of noise with as many soccer teams that were staying. Every staff member was helpful and always smiling.

Pros: Surprisingly quiet considering they put me RIGHT by the elevator. Comfy beds. Soft and fluffy towels. No bugs. Ocean front. Fast elevators. Cons: During our stay- a part of the parking lot cover was being replaced and with the wind- there was insulation blown EVERYWHERE. Not the best approach considering that stuff is dangerous! Tub was clogged- like completely. Didn’t have the little “towel exchange” basket in my room. Pictures are deceiving. Pool/hot tub area is a disaster. Employees are fairly careless, you’ll the the same guy mopping the same spot all day but neglect other spots. Common areas and hallways are muggy and stuffy. Bathroom has horrible lighting, good luck seeing anything in the shower. Overall, would not recommend. I presented all of these cons during checkout and the girl wasn’t even bothered by it. The restaurant on site has poor reviews so be prepared to eat off site- I didn’t want to risk it. Some monitoring or security would be nice as people are vaping inside the hot tub. Also, not one but TWO pool loungers were carried out to the ocean by guests then 2 days later retrieved by the restaurant staff as hotel staff couldn’t be bothered by it.

I've given this hotel 3 stars primarily because of the impressive view. However, I must emphasize that my overall experience was far from satisfactory. The hotel's cleanliness was a significant issue; the carpets were so dirty in some places that they could be lifted up, and the showers and gym were also quite dirty. This lack of cleanliness cast a shadow on an otherwise nice view, making for a less-than-ideal stay.

Happy hour, food was good ( I recommend the smash burger), service was ok, they were a bit understaffed, but did a nice job trying to keep up with the customers. The staff was very polite even though they were crazy busy, food came out quickly. They have a breakfast buffet. a decent menu. We had a room with an ocean view, beautiful! The air wasn't very cool, but the rooms were clean and the view was beautiful!

Great location away from the other hotels, the bar and grill was delicious! The wine selection was fantastic and they let you buy bottles to take back to your room. :) Pet friendly rooms were good, you could tell they were pet friendly, but for the price I would DEFINITELY go back!

Location was great and that was only positive thing. After going to the pool we realized that water in shower, sink and toilet was boiling hot, we let know the front desk, maintenance came but nothing changed. We weren't able to take proper shower while there. Coffee machine didn't work properly. Couldn't open balcony to get some fresh air. On the first day we put bag with trash outside of room to be taken. It was there throughout our stay. Just very poor experience

My stay at the Wyndham has not been the best, but not the worst. There had been some hurricane damage and instead of closing off the rooms or having them fixed in a timely manner they just used them. My room smelled very much like water damage from the time you opened the door. I went to the front desk and they offered to ozone spray and I accepted but it still hasn't happened. The room was was clear of debris however I could tell the bathroom was poorly cleaned. I had fresh towels but wads of hair were still in the shower. This was a housekeeping issue. I was here for a conference and the staff was friendly. Would not stay here at this hotel personally again though. I would try a different hotel next time.
