Very pleased with our stay at the White Marlin and will definitely be back. For the price it was exactly what we needed. Clean and private, close to everything. The hard working lady running the place got our room ready a little early, and made sure we were taken care of. Even though it's an older establishment, she's done a great job of making sure it's a good place to stay! Thank you, definitely recommend!

Horrible service when you call about an issue in the room, they automatically say well I will give you a refund and you can check out. Asked if they will clean the room - n they say I clean everyday. Also stated I just woke up and I am live here, it is 0910 - n the front desk or housekeeper just wants up. Ridiculous - especially if customers needed something earlier - no person at the desk or to answer phones until the person wakes up who has no manners. God forbid you tell them they have a roach issue, the person gets defensive and wants you leave and not say well - Not I will get an bug person in here and spray. They just want to kick you out. Terrible service. Unbelievable!!!!

Booked this hotel for 3 days. Upon arrival I was astonished at the condition of the property. If you look at pics on website the place is beautiful. Those pictures are not of this property. There are huge rips in the drapes. The air conditioners looked like someone took a sledge ammer to them. There are huge gaps in the doors. The place made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Gave off a very bad vibe. The woman who greated us basically told me that she didn't have anything to do with the website and that she was going to put us in a newly renovated room. She told me she really didn't care what I did, that she had already been paid for the room. There was no way I was going to stay here. Canceled and found another hotel. Thankfully I booked through my work website and I was not charged for the 3 days. I can not believe they charge $90 a night for this place. This place is totally misrepresented online. DO NOT STAY HERE

DO NOT GET A ROOM HERE!! upon arrival, the owner wasn’t even in the office, she was walking back-and-forth to 7-Eleven saying she was busy. I’m fact she LIVES in one of the rooms to watch everyone, and LOVES to gossip with others that live on lower levels. Saying “I don’t like that couple” or giving judgement. When I got checked in and got into my room, not only did I see that the pictures that were online were not of this motel at all, I saw that it was a lot worse than what it was rated. There are lots of cracks in the tile, stains on all of the sheets, there’s mold and mildew in the showers, and under the AC and in the windows. There are also physical holes in the walls where you can see straight outside and see the light outside from in the room. Not to mention the first night, we woke up here there were three huge roaches in our room, and in our bed, and when I tried asking if we could get a discount or tried expressing that this place isn’t healthy for a pregnant woman, I was told “theres nothing they can do about the roaches” and that they can move us in a different room. That was it. No refund at all. But if there’s anything I know about run down motels and horrible owners, it’s if the roaches are in one part of the motel there definitely and everyone of the rooms. Absolutely horrible. **there’s also dried blood in the bathroom and on the wall/floor of the bathroom, as well as rusted razors laying EVERYWHERE

First I call the front desk this person is sitting outside feeding her pitbull that stays in a room, I still.calling she is sitting talking on the phone that I keep calling so I can get in my room I already paid for When she answered after the 5th time.i called she hangs up on me for calling the customer service number. The rudest meanest thing I have ever come across then she laugh that I was upset at the way she talked to me and hung up on me for no reason. Please get person out of here along with this inn. IT DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN FROM ALL THE ROACHES TO ALL THE HOLES IN WALLS AND DIRTY BEDS YOU CANNOT SLEEP ON ANY OF THERE STUFF PLEASE USE CAUTION EVERYTHING THERE NEEDS TO BE SANITIZED. PLEASE DEMOLISH THIS PLACE ONLY A.MATTER OF.TIME.WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT GO HERE.

Do not stay here. This hotel is one step up from having mirrors on the ceiling and being rented by the hour. The hotel staff is rude. The pictures are false. There are roaches everywhere, holes in the walls. The blankets have holes in them. Towels are brown. We moved accordingly as soon as we got there.

The staff was great! The hotel was disgusting. There was mold in the shower and kitchenette. The freezer was dirty. The floors made our feet and my babys legs black. There were roaches. The room felt like it was falling apart.

Do not! I repeat DO NOT STAY HERE! This motel was nasty. Not even there 24 hours. Roaches, bed bugs, dirty curtains. The fridge is rusted out. Shower head red nasty stuff caked up in the holes where the water comes out. My family and I grabbed our things and ran out of there. We had to split up and find seperate places to stay 12:30 in the morning!!! Manager refunded the costs with no problem. It's important to check out you hotels/motels thoroughly. You never know what you may find. I always bring my own sheets, towels etc.....

The clerk was ghetto. Loud music was being played and no respect for other patrons in other rooms. The place needs to invest in some cleaner looking shower curtains and sheets!!!! Customer service needs improvement bad. The place already looks a little seedy if you have never stay there before!! And the guest there didn’t make it no better. The bed was OK and the bathroom was clean just need better hot water! Would not be staying there again!

So after you make reservations for this place lastnight , the rate wasn't bad, but I noticed fees, they charge you a service fee when you get there that's not on the website or deal. Not a bad location, but Major problems, White Marlin Motel, 1st. Microwave fell apart, kids couldn't heat their food, there were roach's crawling across the floors. Gf got stuck in bathroom I was litterly about to break the door down tryna get her out, (I thought about leaving her in there smh jkjk😅🥲) but lights don't work. Fire Alarm Went off so much and there is no smoke, took it down. Ac doesn't work. Can't lock your doors(none of them) no outlets for spare plugins, Wires exsposed in some areas. WiFi was not good, And most of all Needles Everywhere.... I'm Seriously Looking to Get My Money Back, It was a Horrible Family Trip to...

WIFE: Roaches, Roaches, Roaches!!! Disgusting.. don’t stay here!! I booked for a one night stay for my husbands birthday, and had to drive 4 hours back home at 11pm because we couldn’t tolerate all the roaches including the one that fell on my husbands head! I didn’t want my kids to touch nothing in the room. The pictures are very misleading, the good reviews are ALL FAKE! The property is filthy, looks as if tenants live there and I have videos and pictures to back up everything I said and will definitely be posting!! Husband: traumatizing to say the least, my family and I had to store our clothes and electronics in the car instead of the room. A million cigarette butts outside on the ground..” THIS HOTEL IS AT BEST $65 per night”… management should be ashamed of themselves!!!

This place needs to be demolished!! Bugs, mold, cabinet doors wouldn't close, walls looked like a patchwork quilt all pieced together with exposed wiring and filthy. Looks nothing like the pictures on the internet. Spend extra bucks. Don't stay here!!

Place had the best price, however the rooms were painted over probably 900 times, and still there was mold in the corners on the walls, it smelled mildewy, the shower curtain was just resting on the ledge, had I not noticed, I would have gotten hit with it. The beds are soft, but sleeping in it for 2+ nights makes for bad hip pain. Not to mention that the housekeepers/property managers walked past all the rooms in the morning blasting r&b and singing so loud. Our door knob was off to the side so you could stick a pen right through the hole inside the door all the way out/people could see in, there was no chain lock or dead bold deal the ONLY lock was on the door knob itself and the toilet clogged first night and nobody answered phones to assist nor was there anyone at front desk. Won’t be there again.

This was the most disappointing place ive ever stayed at. Not even 5 minutes of walking into the room we were met with roaches and bedbugs, we left immediately. And when we tried to return the keys the office was locked and no one was there. Scam scam scam

Save Your Money!! This place has to be one of the worst locations in Va Beach..I reserved a room online only to have to stand outside the office for 20 mins because the individual that was supposed to be behind the desk was in a room..After several call attempts and banging on the door , a nosey tenant who obviously lives there come out asking why am I banging on the door..then proceeds to tell me give the person that supposed to be in the office a few mins..then she proceeds to walk across the parking lot, knock on the door and some lady comes out with phone in hand stating she didn't receive any calls..She should be fired without hesitation..Find another location if you don't want to deal with ignorance and extreme lack of professionalism..Housekeeper also cleaning room with music blasting 9 in the am, then proceeds to curse someone out at the top of lungs on her phone..absolutely disgusting location

You know, it’s been a while since I’ve stayed at White Marlin Inn, but I have never forgotten about it. Not a lot of days go by where I don’t think about this place. I stayed here with my friends for a couple of nights one summer, and it was a trip of a lifetime. The location of this place is hard to beat, so close to the beach and boardwalk!! Although it was not clean, and there were old sandwiches under the bed, white marlin inn brought my friends and I closer than ever. You can’t get that experience at any other hotel. If you sign up for a night here, you’re signing up for an adventure of a lifetime. Love this place more than society will ever accept it.

Room was bigger then I had imagined great price, just has roaches. Smelled really clean like got a lysol bath. There were burn holes in the blanket and beds a bit hard for my liking.

Close to the beach…..no-tell motel. Place is not in good repair. Top landing of the steps is rotted plywood. Room had clean sheets and not much else. We wound up crashing at our friends Airbnb and using the hotel parking spaces.

This place is not THAT bad. Came here 2 years in a row for 4th of July and the place is good for what you’re paying. It’s a 5 minute walk from the beach, tv was working, warm water, bed was fine, it has everything you need. I do think this place is better for a shorter stay more than anything else. People book these types of places and expect luxury 👎🏻

This motel was not as advertised. It was neither clean, nor safe. The door knob was broken and had been repaired with packing tape. The pillows were badly stained. The room was in very poor condition with rust on the mini fridge, live and dead bugs in the bathroom, and a strong odor of cigarette smell. The bathtub was broken. We opted to pay the cancelation fee and left to stay in another hotel.

If you have a dog don't go there people hanging out in the parking lot, made you feel uncomfortable, rooms were trash the people work there lived in the rooms, they were nice and helpful I hope they get a raise they know how to treat the customer.

The lady who checked us in was super kind and accommodating. Every time she saw us leave the room, she’d ask us how everything was going and if we needed anything. The room smelt a little funky, not gonna lie. And the shower curtain, window curtains, and towels were kinda nasty. When I went to use my towel the first night, a clump of someone else’s hair appeared on my body. The bed clothes had cigarette burns in them, and the floor felt gritty even before we went to the beach. Also, the trash can was way too small. The price was a little high, but I’m glad we at least had somewhere to stay last minute. The air conditioner worked wonderfully, and I’ve never stayed in a motel that has so many cabinets to store food, which was helpful since we packed some things from home. Probably wouldn’t stay here again unless I really had to, but I’m grateful for the hospitality. Also, I never saw any evidence of roaches or bugs like others have mentioned in other reviews. So that issue seems to have been resolved.

The lady was very kind, she always checked up on us and always asked if we needed extra towels or if the room needed to be cleaned, there were no needles or roaches anywhere like others were saying, and the beds were pretty comfortable. overall my boyfriend and i were very happy with our stay, the manager was one of the nicest people i’ve ever met

Love this location the room was redone looked amazing we had no issue just wished there was more then one lock on the door it was so quit and peaceful no bug it was clean keep up the good work guys

I was very disappointed. The room was infested with roaches. The person in charge of the property was not very clean or courteous. The hotel personnel went into our room while we were gone, without our permission. They have a lot of homeless people living there. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
