Vazhvanthol Waterfalls is an absolute gem nestled in lush green forests and surrounded by stunning grey rocks. To enter, it's only 1500 for a group of 10 people, and the forest department even provides a guide to make your experience even more enjoyable. The trek is about 2.5km and has a moderate level of difficulty, so it's best to arrive at 9 am to make the most of your day. Once you reach the waterfalls, you can take a breather and relax after the tiring walk and climb through the rocks. The entire trek takes about two hours, but spending an hour at the waterfalls is a must-do if it's not too crowded.

It was a memorable Trek. Tickets will be obtained at checkpost. Each ticket costs Rs 1000/- which will allow 5 adults. I think entry is free for Children below 10 years of age. From the check post we have to go further 800m towards the entry point where Car Park and Washroom/ Dressing facilities are available. One forest guard will accompany us towards the waterfalls. We have to take a 2.5 km trek through the forest to reach the Waterfalls. Trekking difficulty is above intermediate and will take around 1.0-1.5 hrs to complete. There is a steep incline through boulders which is the toughest climb/ desent. Do take enough water and snacks for the journey. Leeches are there in forest. Avoid wearing bright colored clothes. But throughout the journey, the beautiful scenery will make it worth the effort. We can bathe in WATERFALLS. CHANGING ROOM facility is AVAILABLE at Waterfalls. The water is very cold and floor is slightly slippery. We have to get back by 4:00 PM, not sure about entry time. PS: A humble request to all fellow travellers. Please don't throw any plastic wrappers / broken footwear / broken glass bottles on the way or at Waterfall. There is a waste bin at entry point and near changing facility at Waterfall. Kindly dispose your waste inside the bins or best is to take it back home and dispose at home. Do not pollute the forest.

Wow! Just Amazing... Perfect destination in Thiruvananthapuram for trekking in the forest for 2.5kms to reach the Vazhvanthol Waterfalls. Can walk in the forest through the narrow steps, rocks & much more. We feel refreshed after enjoying in the waterfalls. The guides in the area give us directions. Once we reach here we feel satisfied & refreshed, that's a guarantee. PLEASE NOTE : - Take tickets before 1pm, as the entry closes by 1pm & we can spend time till 3.30pm. - Better to come by a team of 5 members minimum. - Chance to slip in the waterfalls area, so take much care. - Washroom facilities are available only in the entry point. - Can take food to eat, but don't put plastics & food waste in the trekking spot, dispose it in the given spots. - Need to take sanitizer as leeches were found in certain spots. Just apply some sanitizer in the area were leech bites. I was so happy to hear that 21 families are living near the area, the family members were appointed as guides by government.

*For Navigation, choose Kaanithadam forest checkpost* A beautiful two layered waterfalls at the end of a 2.5km long Trek through the forest. Kaanithadam forest checkpost is the entry to vazhvanthol waterfalls as well as bonacaud. The road splits into two, towards bonacaud and vazhvanthol parking lot. Private vehicles are not allowed to bonacaud except for valid reasons (like for natives or going to agastyarkoodam trekking during its season). Hence don't rely on the route shown by maps to reach vaazhvanthol after this checkpost. Entry starts at 9am and closes at 1pm. We reached at 12.50pm. You have to fill a form detailing the name, age and phone number of all members and number of vehicles. The pricing (price/fee) is now updated to 1000Rs per min batch of 5 and 200rs per head for extra members. In effective it's 200rs per head. Even if you are below 5 members you can club with other visitors to make a batch. We went as a batch of 9. UPI or card payments were not available at time of my visit (14/01/2024) so need to give cash. Can travel further 1km to the parking lot and there is sufficient parking space available with respect to the moderate crowd. Restrooms are available there. Then it's 2.5km trekking through the forest. Beware of leeches during rainy season. Always carry sanitizer or pocket perfume. You can carry food and water. It will take more than 1hr to the reach the waterfalls. No need to carry the food parcel all the way to top. There are good rocks as picnic spot after 1.5km with a waste bin. It's a steep uphill after this spot. (We bought meals from vithura as there are no other bakery or hotels after taking right from theviyodu). There are cliff edges, be carefull. After the trek you are welcomed with the beauty of the waterfalls. There are changing rooms available for gents and ladies. There's waterfalls in the top and a natural swimming pool in the bottom. They will say to leave at 3.30, but can take some additional time to spent till 4pm depending on the crowd. It's very slippery in the waterfalls and left side of the pool is slightly deeper than your height (it's an infinity pool so depth always remains the same irrespective of amount of water), so take caution.

It's one of best one day planner Trip in TRIVANDRUM, the most exciting part is the 2.5km trekking it's the best walking in the middle of the Forest, and i like suggest going in groups so it make more fun and the govt provide guides for making our way, and the waterfall is so good and their have separate bathing area for ladies and kids and the dressing room were also provided.. But the entering fees were quite expensive. But joining in groups it will be reduced so.. Go and explore the nature ❀ and by the way make the environment clean and hygiene and i request everyone not to throw garbages.. With lots of love gauri❀

We need to trek approx 2.5km to reach this beautiful waterfalls. The trek to the waterfalls is of medium difficulty. To enter, it's 1500/- for a group of 10 people, and we will get a guide who will help with the trek. You must carry sufficient food and water because there are no shops near to get it. This is a must visit place especially for nature lovers.

Beautiful waterfalls set amidst green forests and grey rocks… visited with a women’s travel group named Appooppanthaadi. The trek up to the waterfalls is of medium difficulty but the massage under the falls is truly rejuvenating. The permit to enter the region costs 1500 for a maximum of 10 persons. We had guides to guide us in the trek and their help to the weaker trekkers was appreciated. We went in March and it was a bit hot in many of the cleared areas of the forest. When bathing in the waterfalls there were many slippery areas. One has to be cautious and try staying closer to the ground to avoid accidents. There were no shops from the point where we got off the vehicle and started the trek and along the entire route. So it is advisable to carry necessary water and refreshments, ideally split as two sets one to carry for the trek and the other to leave in the vehicle for use on return. Must visit place especially for nature lovers πŸ‘Œ

We visited Vazhvanthol Waterfall on a Saturday. Got there at around 10:30. We went trekking for 2.5 kilometres before reaching the waterfalls. We did not see any animals, but the view was great. There were a lot of beautiful sites to photograph. The waterfall itself was great. Cold water and was refreshing. The place is great to go as a group. And the ticket itself is for 10 people.

This Waterfalls, which are tucked away in beautiful green woodlands . It is located around 50 km from the Trivandrum central . A group of ten individuals can enter for just 1500 , and the forest department even offers a guide to make your visit even more fun. Make sure to reach there at 9 am coz after 1 pm they are no allowed for hiking so to make use of your day enter the forest as early as possible because the hike is nearly 3 km long and has a moderate level of difficulty. You can rest and relax until you arrive at the waterfalls. You need to carry water, foods and essentials if needed coz there is no shops nearby .The entire hike lasts around three hours and in waterfalls you can spend about 1 hour.

A great place to go for a weekend tracking. The whole tracking is 2.7 km from the entrance. There is ample space for parking the car. The entry fee is thousand rupees for five people. There is no restaurants in near the waterfall so carrying food and water is a must It’s a great place to have a natural water massage

One of the finest & careful place that I have visited,While traveling in rainy β˜” season you should be aware of leeches, you can bring sanitizer or sault to get rid of these leeches. There's around 2.5km of one side trekking. So you should bring drinkable water. You can bring food items, and you shouldn't leave any leftovers in the forest.

Located at around 50 km from Trivandrum, it is a good one day weekend getway for people who are interested in trekking. Would say the path as moderate trek as there are some steep rocks to climb while nearing the waterfall. Would say the walk is worth as we will forget everything once we take a dip in the cool water. Amazing experience Its around 2.5 km walk one way and we need to carry food and water.

Best small trekking place for beginners. Walking distance is 2.5 kms (one side). Nice waterfall at the end. But no privacy for changing dress after bath. There is a worst washroom at the starting point, with 0 maintenence. Expense is INR 1500/- for 1-10 persons. We were visited on March 2023.
