Very peaceful and calm place to spend time. The visuals are extraordinary.

Located roughly 35 km from trivandrum city, the dam is a beautiful site to enjoy the beauty of nature Visitors can enjoy a serene walk along the reservoir. The surrounding forests offer a glimpse into rich biodiversity. The time of visit is between 9 am and 5 pm There is a check post on the way which closes at 5:30 pm There is no entry fee we only need to give our communication details to the security official The visit promises you a very pleasant experience also if we are lucky enough we might see bison or peacock on the way A wild life sanctuary is also associated with the dam

Since poonmadi hills were closed for public, therefore got diverted to this place inadvertently. So Please check in advance before starting for poonmadi hills if its open. The dam was great. Since its 3 gates were open, therefore it was a wonderful experience. But the weather was hot and humid. So walking 2 kms in that weather was taxing but worth it.

If you would like to visit a dam, it's worth visiting. Else, there is nothing else to explore. Peppara Wild Safari was functional in the past(almost 12 years back), and it is stopped now. No tickets are required to visit the dam.

Dam was beautiful with its calm nature. It was a great place to relax and take in the fresh air.

Recommended eco place to visit after noon. Noon time will be very hot. No have entry fee.
