An hour and a half before advertised closing, they had the grill and fryer off and couldn't make anything except hot dogs. I kindly asked if I had the closing time wrong and the owner said "I close when I want to close." We decided to leave and not give him our business.

I had high expectations since The Dog Hut esthetics seem to say "we know hot dogs". Don't let the bright blue and yellow building and branding fool you. It is right across the street from the beach, so the location is convenient. They offer a handful of specialty dogs, such as the Carolina (onions, mustard, chili, cole slaw) or you build your own. The hot dog itself was long in size but average in taste. The skin didn't quite have the snap I expected, maybe because of how it was cooked. It was a boiled hot dog and the bun came straight from the bag. It wasn't even steamed. Chili had a little heat to it, but not overpowering. Service was fast. Staff is not overly friendly. It was a quick transaction. If you are looking for a quick, inexpensive bite and not looking to be wowed, it's an ok stop. Just don't go thinking you're going get an awesome dog because they have Sabrett and Nathan's branding everywhere. French fries were less than average, as were onion rings.

I ask the gentleman to put for hot dogs on the grill two of them were gray looking. I asked him to toast the low-quality public buns that he was going to put them on and he absolutely refused. Wheni asked him serio, and told him i was here 2 weeks before and spent $35 for 2 people at his place he insulted me and told me and my son to get out! He said he hadn't made any money all day and he wasn't doing any special orders. I told him I know why he hasn't made any money. Don't patronize this place the gentleman was extremely mean and nasty

This is good little place. It's close to the beach, and so small, you'd miss it if you blink. The hotdogs here taste like the ones from a big city hotdog cart. The service is friendly and fast, like any mom & pop shop. Great prices on menu items!

The staff were very friendly. I told them I always getting a hot dog for my pup who was just turn a year old. We all enjoyed the hot dog. My boy swallowed it within a minute. I would say that was a hit!

Great place for a Hot Dog, have been there multiple times, many different types to choose from. Lunch for under $10.00

We just walked in at 4:20pm on Saturday, guy at counter says two words “we’re closed” with odd smirk on his face as he continues to clean up. Hours say open til 5p. I said “Oh ok, we just drove 30 mins to get here” Not a word from him- he could not have cared less. What a bummer. I should have listened to the other poor reviews about how they treat customers. I wish there was a zero star option.

I am honestly wondering how anyone could give this place less than five stars - best chili cheese dog I've ever had. At the same time, you can tell that this is a small mom and pop business and the owners are great.

Go here if you want to reminisce the times you made a drunk meal at your apartment right out of college at 3am after a night out . The hot dog reminds me of what I might have made at 22. Pull the frank out (& microwave same taste as this place), throw a slice of American cheese, put on a cold bun out of the bag of buns and there you have it. It's almost comical how little effort is put into the hot dog!!!!! The hot dog isn't crispy, the buns not even toasted, they use the short skinny ones (. Even the fries weren't good. They're the crinkle cut and lacked flavor. I ate half and threw it out not worth the calories. Came last week after a long day. I was here and really hungry and it still wasn't good.

Definitely just a hut. No seats inside. Only space enough for 4 people to order. Service was polite. Chili-Cheese dog was good but not great.

Cute little mom and pop hot dog shop. Foods always great and a nice little stop. Only thing I don't like is the little parking area sometimes when A1A is busy it's hard to back out of. The couple who work inside are friendly and the food is fast.

I love a good hotdogs. Sabrett hot dogs are my favorite. I grew up eating them, my friend worked a cart during the summer. The only thing better than a sabrett hot dog is one with mustard and red onion sauce. I had 2. They were just as I remembered. I wish I could find them where we live. My wife had onion rings. Great food and exceptional counter service make this place a must go to when you go to the beach.

Dogs were excellent. Staff inside was friendly and polite. Prices were reasonable. Only seating is outside, the tables were cleaned and we'll maintained. The day was not hot so it was comfortable to sit and enjoy our lunch.

Comon people. Especially up north people moving to this area. Here is your hot dog place you miss if not up north anymore. Maybe a little out-of-the-way. But not to away from anywhere in the Ormond Daytona area. Get that sabrett Hot dog snap with some homemade onions. Or their other delicious toppings. This place is always just passed up but let me tell you. Don't pass it up. Pull your car in backwards. Sit in your car and eat. The ocean is across the street. That is your view from car. Or sit and their umbrella tables. We just love our brunch here!!!!! Go!!!!!

Great little hot dog spot. I went multiple days in a row while working in the area and it was great! The hotdogs were great and the staff inside were friendly and welcoming. Definitely going to try a burger when I get back up there

I haven’t tried their food yet unfortunately because their store is closed when it says it’s opened online. My husband was excited. Please update your hours on google to match your store hours because it’s very deceiving. Will change when we actually eat the food.

The man from New Jersey serving was the most hateful man I've ever encountered. We asked some questions about the menu and he was getting irritated that we weren't from the area and had too many questions. I asked him if he was having a bad day cause I wanted to cheer him up, he was nastier to us. Told us to get out. No southern hospitality at all. The lady was very nice but he wouldn't let her serve us all because he didn't like us at that point. I know people of Ormand Beach or Florida do not treat others this way.

New ownership. No longer offers options like different brands, natural casing, sausages, etc. Used to be able to order chili on the side, now the new owner accuses you of trying to scam him despite offering to pay full price for a chili dog each to only get a 3oz cup of chili. Wound up being told I could only buy 1 dog w 1 side of chili. His wife was kind and threw in a 2nd cup since he ignored my request for spicy and gave me mild originally. Tipped 30% as a parting gesture to a small business I used to support. Never again I’m sorry to say.

Best New York style hot dogs anywhere! A mom and pop restaurant run by a nice couple from New York who truly know New York hot dogs!. Forget Nathans and see what a genuine New York hot dog really tastes like! You won't regret it. And don't forget to ask for their special mustard, it's amazing!

Hotdog was boiled in water and fries were frozen. They could have cooked the hotdog and the bun on the grill for a few minutes to improve things. The staff was friendly and the place was clean.

This place is awesome! Stopped in and had the Reuben and Junkyard dog. They use the Sabrett wieners that are so good I’d eat these dogs plain. Tasted great! Good prices. Onion rings are very good. They have ice cold beer too! Highly recommend.
