I can't think of a suitable word for this behavior! I went to Dr. with my 77-year-old mother who had complaints. Shimkat. He briefly looked at her eyes from a meter away, handed us a recipe and wanted to leave the room. When my mother tried to ask a question, he completely ignored her. Then I wanted to ask the question and Dr. Schimkat interrupted me with absolute annoyance. He doesn't have time for questions and doesn't argue! He got loud and threw him out of the room! After waiting almost 2 hours for an appointment, you have to undergo such worthless treatment?! The treatment at the doctor didn't even take a minute, to be honest, anyone who treats people like that has missed their job and hasn't earned a single cent, the service is zero but billing is done every second. The practice owner, Dr. Berens, doesn't seem to care about such behavior towards his patients! Very sad!

After a very long time, I visited Dr. Visited Berens from the inside because I have been struggling with flickering and gray fields of fog for some time. The medical assistants scurry through the narrow corridor to give patients their eye drops for check-ups or to lead people to the treatment rooms. I felt like I was in good hands and went home satisfied. By the way, my diagnosis is a birthmark on the lens

My daughter was 1 and a half years old at the time. Should do another one because it was abnormal at the pediatrician. The doctor acted super annoyed and looked at it for 2 seconds and cheekily said that we now have to pay for it simply because we wasted his time. I won't even go to the practice anymore if I get paid for it... Absolutely the best doctor Rather the best in assi behavior!!!!

May 2023 Update (LASEK laser surgery): After around 5 months, I have to say that my quality of life has improved extremely and I am completely satisfied with the result. I can now see 100% clearly and only have dry eyes on a few days, which is probably more due to my eyes than to the laser surgery. I can still fully recommend the practice. December 2022 Update (LASEK laser surgery): Now I have had LASEK laser surgery. Everything went well and everything went smoothly on the day of the operation. Unfortunately, my healing is very delayed, so I had to wear bandage lenses for longer and come in more often than expected and after two weeks I still can't see clearly. But that depends on the individual and I always felt well looked after and advised. For anyone who is thinking about having laser surgery, take into account that healing could take longer than expected and discuss this carefully with your employer. Old review: I've been going there since I was little and am completely satisfied with my visits. I usually get an appointment on the same day and don't have to wait long. I've been seeing Dr. since last year. Fischer and I feel in great hands with him. He is very friendly and immediately knows where the problem is after carefully looking at everything. Everything goes very quickly and we always check whether your eyesight is still correct. I can only recommend the practice!

Shocking experience in this practice! When we entered the practice we were sent out because the registration area was apparently too full (three patients + one child). When patients went towards the waiting area and there was only one patient left there, we went back in, but the slightly older employee (not a single smile) sent us out angrily. Yes, really out! We're supposed to wait in the hallway! Outside the practice.. such behavior is outrageous.. About the treatment: So that images of the fundus of the eye can still be taken/accessed usefully in later years, we agreed and carried out an extra treatment (“glaucoma”) for €60 let. Then the joke when the doctor looked at the pictures for a few seconds: “You didn't open your eyes properly while the pictures were being taken, I can only judge a very small part of them (1/4). What I see seems to be okay!” and further “if you are happy the way you see it, then you can keep it that way!” Although my father has a vision that he urgently needs glasses for, because he is very sees badly. I ask myself whether the technical and social skills are sufficient here. When we had to make another appointment again for the test that the practice had not carried out correctly/carefully and for which we paid €60 for free, the older employee at the registration desk again asked me whether there would be anything else before the New Year a free appointment is made fun of, in a derogatory manner (together with her colleague who was also registering). After waiting for 2 hours, I'm of course not surprised that the practice doesn't have any free appointments available in a timely manner. This employee at the registration desk was unhelpful, completely competent and therefore in my opinion out of place, because the reception/registration department is the one first encounter, first impression. And this was anything but positive. She didn't want to give us an appointment because my father is supposed to come back after 6 months, but since the test wasn't carried out "correctly" on your part, it had to be repeated so that it makes sense for us to have "carried out the treatment". That was the main reason we were there. I tried to explain it to the lady at registration, but she didn't listen to me and kept interrupting me. She tried to brush us off and do her thing so that we would disappear soon too. We said that next time we wouldn't want the appointment with the doctor, but with another doctor, and again the older employee said, "We don't like that, we don't actually want that." (As a patient, I have the right to freely choose who I want treatment from!!!) She did not show any professional behavior and was totally unfriendly. Also outrageous, as a patient you don't have to put up with everything! I would call that the height of impudence! To get the eye test results you pay an extra €10. Just like the eye pressure test costs €25. A total of €95 less in your pocket, 2 hours of time lost, no appreciation and leaving the practice feeling so bad and angry. I'm thinking about filing a complaint with the insurance company too.

My mother had both eyes operated on in this practice. Medical assistants are extremely competent. Process runs smoothly. The first operation with Dr. Schimkat went perfectly, but there were complications during the operation on the second eye. These manifest themselves, among other things, with double vision. After three weeks and no improvement, she spoke to Dr. Schimkat about her impairments, which severely restricted her everyday life. His curt answer was: “You can throw yourself in front of a train…” She then changed doctors within the practice and was very satisfied with Dr. Fischer. Dr. Schimkat's statement bothered her for a long time. An unstable person might have noticed the suggestion.

The practice is top! You can get an appointment very quickly and everyone is very friendly. I have been to Dr. several times now because of an eye infection. Fischer and I feel very well looked after. Many ♥️ thanks to the great team.

Unfortunately not recommended. Although the employees were all pleasant, the core of the visit or appointment for me was the meeting with the doctor, Dr. Shimkat and it was just embarrassing. I waited almost 6 weeks for the appointment and only had 2-3 minutes with Mr. to speak shimkat. I found the following extremely negative: - The doctor didn't ask about the symptoms; He just looked at each other without giving me time to say anything. - I still described my symptoms (pain in the left eye or feeling of pressure) but he didn't want to listen or started running away and just nodding his head, then he was just gone before I had finished the sentence. I.e. all in all I had the feeling that there was no time for the patients (with appointments). I would have expected him to inform the patients if he was out of time (i.e. offer a new appointment) and not treat the patients as a "piece of furniture". If you just want to do eye tests then the visit would be worth it (because of the staff). Otherwise I wouldn't recommend the doctor.

About 8 years ago I had a successful eye operation with Dr Berens. I was happy with everything. Afterwards I am now a patient of Dr Fischer, a young, very committed and friendly doctor. Short waiting times, friendly and competent employees. I recently went there with my granddaughter, 10 months old, because of runny and sticky eyes. CONCLUSION: Avoid the “God in White” unless you appreciate such posturing. He didn't even look at the child's eyes. Not in the mood for a toddler! A very negative experience..., not related to the practice itself, it gets 5 stars!
