I have seen the inside of several hospitals both as a patient and as a trained intensive care specialist and PDL. But the St. Josef Hospital Bochum is the best I have ever seen. Here you meet at eye level. Here you are also treated as a human being. The doctors listen to you and really discuss everything with you in detail. The nursing staff is very friendly, competent and helpful. Everyone introduces themselves when they come into the room for the first time. Organization throughout the hospital was very good. Examinations are carried out as soon as possible and if it is an MRI late in the evening. No unnecessary stay. No matter which department receives an order, it is planned immediately so that unnecessary waiting times or repeated visits are not necessary. If necessary, an appointment at the local doctor's office will also be planned for consultation. I was discharged on Friday and since I couldn't get an appointment with my family doctor or neurologist on the same day, I was given a prescription for the necessary medication so that I can see my doctors in peace tomorrow. A follow-up appointment was booked straight away and given to me. Admission and discharge management is also great. When I was admitted it was determined what had to be taken into account when I was released. For someone who has a nursing degree and is cared for by an assistant, this is an absolute must. A PCR test was also carried out so that I would be discharged healthy and not infect anyone who cared for me. I have to say that despite the pandemic, the shortage of skilled workers and the high workload, everyone here is doing the best they can. Hats off to you for this achievement. Despite everything, you always have the impression that you are very well looked after. The service staff on the private ward also give their all and fulfill your every wish. It really is, every corner of the hospital is tip top clean. The hygiene concept works really well here. The employees at the entrance are always friendly and competent. They help if someone cannot register online to enter the hospital. I always felt safe here. The only negative thing is sometimes the behavior of the people who behave in an impossible way. Everyone here is trying to implement the constantly changing pandemic guidelines as quickly as possible and explain them in a friendly manner, but I find it an absolute no-go to take out their displeasure about it on these people and sometimes behave in an impossible way. When you visit, just remember that the person you are talking to is also human and only has to implement the guidelines, some of which change hourly. I will definitely make the long journey here at any time. It doesn't get any better.

Yesterday we had to go to the emergency medical service at St. Josef Hospital in Bochum after 6 p.m. The emergency doctor was very thorough and competent. My wife received good help. We would go there again and again. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the emergency doctor.

The hospital had my review deleted. Because I couldn't prove my horrible experiences in this hospital to Google Support. As well as? However, I can prove that the hospital has unpleasant reviews deleted - I have the emails. There is 1 star for deleting it.

I am describing an incident that occurred in the summer of '21. One day I got a sore throat and a cold. Unfortunately things got worse in the evening. I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't breathe at all. Luckily I had an asthma spray, which I rarely use, which meant that I was at least able to breathe, but breathing remained extremely difficult and I kept getting dizzy. Since the condition didn't improve, we went to the emergency room in the middle of the night. Due to precautionary measures regarding the current situation, I was only allowed to enter the hospital alone and was immediately isolated in a room. (Of course I also understood this.) I was given an EKG, and this EKG constantly gave off alarm tones. When the doctor noticed this, he said I shouldn't get so upset. He didn't say anything else, which unfortunately seemed very irritable to me and had no calming effect. In the following hours the pulse was definitely too high, which is probably why the ekg kept beeping an alarm. There was a warning message on the ECG that I couldn't understand and I became more and more afraid. but I knew the word pathological well maybe it was just a respiratory infection; still, I feared there was something wrong with my heart. The doctor took blood (also urine) and then no one showed up for a long time. I had an extremely dry throat, my throat was literally burning, I didn't know this burning sensation in my throat either! My husband was sitting in the waiting room. I had written to him on my cell phone and he asked if I could get the water I had brought with me. he asked, but no answer was given, no reason was given. hours later a sister came finally got something to drink. I tried to explain to her how I was feeling. Then she became very unfriendly I ended up with water, but it seemed to me that it had something to do with me apologizing for a certain excitement. I found that very humiliating. Unfortunately, this employee didn't seem to take my (or our) fears seriously, I left this hospital at dawn on my own responsibility. Although she still had difficulty breathing; i.e. every time I tried to fall asleep I woke up with a violent wheeze. It was extremely scary but especially for my family to hear that noise. It later turned out that it wasn't the current virus, but the symptoms were still so massive and to this day I couldn't really explain it. The thought of staying in the hospital that night was and is unacceptable. The incident is known here, everything was reported in detail in a letter to the complaint management and then discussed with an employee on the phone. This was followed by a longer response letter from the clinic, where they regretted the incident but did not accept the consequences that this experience had for us. Conclusion: We will definitely never go here again if we can't avoid it, because it was by far the worst experience I've ever had in a hospital.

It's a shame that you can't give 0 stars. I don't know where to start... I was in neurology. Starting with the doctors and continuing with the nursing staff, I wasn't taken seriously... I'm very young and couldn't walk or talk there, which is why my girlfriend came with me, but she wasn't allowed to stay there because apparently there were no beds available. In every room that was open there was at least 1 bed free or it was empty. My girlfriend was only allowed to come during visiting hours of 2 hours, although at the beginning it was said that she could be there all day because I couldn't articulate myself could. Doctors gossiped about me loudly in the hallway on the first day. Nursing staff first touched my feet without gloves, then my CVC and then my PEG. Of course, all without disinfecting their hands in between. I am an epileptic and run away when I see strangers. I told the nurse and told her to call my friend because she was the only one who could keep me there. The answer was "there are visiting hours and we definitely won't call your friend. If she has cramps, ring the bell "Just them." This load is impossible. People made fun of the suspected diagnosis, which was confirmed 2 weeks later. If I had already had my plasma phase as requested, I would most likely be feeling better today.

I went with horrible pain in my chest, and my chest was squeezing a lot it reached to my back. i thought it was a heart attack. The nurse at the admission of ambulance told me so you have pain since half an hour and you came direct to hospital ! she kept me waiting for about an hr and half in the waiting room i was crying from pain. and at last i saw the DR he didn't even check me physically, he listened to my symptoms and said no way one of your age would get a hear attack, probably its a nerve in your back. Anyway a week later i discovered i had stones in my gallbladder that caused me so much pain, they didn't even check me. and By the way a month ago, a friend of mine 25 years old, died of heart attack. Horrible experience

(Translated by Google) Absolutely rude staff. Already at the reception you encountered almost cheeky behavior and got the feeling of being "undesirable". In a hospital?! Help is needed but will instead be turned away or referred to another hospital. Such behavior is not only unsympathetic but also completely out of place for a hospital. (Original) Absolut unfreundliches Personal.

(Translated by Google) By far the most terrible hospital in Bochum !!! Both the doctors and the nursing staff were so unfriendly and lacking in empathy! It is insolent like talking to SICK patients. Despite an emergency, up to 6 hours waiting time in the emergency room. You can still beg for painkillers that nobody cares about there, you still have to wait. I advise everyone against going to this hospital! First right in emergencies, please do not go to this hospital !!!!

I don't know who give this hospital 3 stars but for me this 1 star is more then enough. I came here with a broken finger in pain and had to wait exactly 3 hours and didn't even get in. Also many other patients where in pain and waiting for many hours. Honestly a hospital this big should really be faster on taking care of patients faster. (My final review after getting in: the main issue according to a nurse is they have very few nurses and doctors for such a huge hospital and so many patients)

(Translated by Google) CAUTION CAUTION !!!!!! The hospital is by far the last thing in terms of procedure! Experienced incompetence in many departments. Department OR1 wants to top it off. Resident is asking for permission to restrain a patient for no plausible reason. At no point was there any danger to oneself or others. However, in this hospital, an elderly person in need of care will probably only be seen as an additional expense and as unwanted. Patient was discharged the same day that restraint was not allowed. NOT TRUSTED THIS HOSPITAL (Original) VORSICHT VORSICHT !!!!!! Inkompetenz in vielen Abteilungen erlebt.

Since relatives and acquaintances of mine also had good experiences and the first contact in the emergency medical practice was also positive, I get 2 points. Today's ordeal leaves me rather shocked. My girlfriend arrives with a sudden fainting and abnormally high blood pressure and further inpatient treatment/observation in the same hospital is recommended. So off to the emergency room for a blood test, short-term ECG, access, signing forms. That went pretty quickly, despite the many patients. At 4 p.m. you are told that the evaluation of the blood values will take about 2 hours and that further tests will be carried out during that time. After a full 6 hours and 20 minutes, during which neither further examination nor the planned inpatient admission took place, we canceled our sails. When we asked whether we could at least have the blood values, they were handed over to us... with the result that too little blood was taken and a complete evaluation was therefore not possible. It could be that the doctors are competent, we just haven't seen any. The emergency room is an absolute disaster.

(Translated by Google) Absolutely uncoordinated. Agreements between stations do not seem to exist. How can it be that ward A prescribes therapy in ward B and after almost 3 weeks doesn't know anything about the therapy prescribed there? In addition, the tone in the house towards patients and relatives is, with a few exceptions, absolutely impudent. Ward nurses who downright yell at patients and relatives at close range, mind you in times of Covid-19 and without a mask / face mask, should perhaps think about a career change. Quote from the lady: "We have to protect ourselves too!" In addition, the appointment / scheduling is very questionable. Either it is not possible to get an appointment at all by phone (you are connected from station A via station B to C, then end again at A to find that nobody is apparently able to make appointments) or appointments are made at such short notice it is difficult or almost impossible to get a required referral from a general practitioner. My conclusion: Apart from the administration of the radiation therapy, I can only advise you to look for an alternative. (Original) Absolut unkoordiniert.

Even when it was already certain that Brother would no longer live, the doctors and nurses looked after him wonderfully. You felt completely understood and weren't alone with the grief. What could not be said about the Gelsenkirchen hospital in which it was previously. If my brother had been treated at the hospital straight away, he would have been alive. (Translated by Google) Evaluation for the dermatological outpatient clinic: Good doctor, but if you don't even get an appointment, you can't benefit from it. Absolutely no getting through by phone for 4 months. The last time it worked 4 months ago, but when I was put through to a colleague, I ended up on hold again (lost?). After another full half hour, I was kicked off the line because it was now outside of business hours. From then on it was a running joke. Sometimes I am put back in last place after an hour of waiting. If the doctor hadn't been so great, I wouldn't waste my time any longer. Organizationally something should be changed here as a matter of urgency. Evaluation goes entirely to the organization. Hier sollte man organisatorisch dringlichst etwas ändern.

(Translated by Google) Thanks again for nothing. With a feverish child in the emergency room ... The only thing that seems to be of interest at the moment is Corona !! Quickly made a swab, nice and deep in the nose before looking for other diseases. End result, without diagnosis, let alone suspicion, home. Two days later I visited the pediatrician, who immediately recognized after a minute that it was the "mouth-hand-foot disease". All symptoms (typical smallpox, 38.5 degrees) were also present in the clinic. What the pediatrician said about the doctor's approach in the clinic, I'm not writing now ... everyone should make up their own mind. The fact is that it could have saved our child a few uncomfortable days. The prescribed cream brought improvement after just a few days. It's best to stay healthy 😉 (Original) Mal wieder danke für nichts.

(Translated by Google) The hospital staff was understaffed (in 2017, even before COVID-19), which was also reflected in the bad mood of the staff ... Patients were treated without empathy ... my relative, who had cancer, was admitted to the hospital; Time of the world, a senior doctor conducted a detailed informative discussion about chemotherapy ... I wish they had given him a fraction of this time during therapy ... The main thing is that you have won another patient in order to earn more money do. The lucrative business with cancer ... The fact that the well-being of the patient does not come first was shown by the fact that my relative was no longer allowed to take the painkillers that his family doctor had written down (so he was almost painless) they gave him morphine patches and their medication several times, but they had absolutely no effect ... and my relative screamed for days like on a stick, we had to wait for a doctor for hours, and if any came briefly, then only interns from another Department ... but none of them had been able to provide suitable help against his severe pain. On our repeated requests to be allowed to take his own medication, no permission was given, so that he was therefore forced to stop the therapy at his own request . It was the best decision he could make, so he was able to spend the last of his days with us pain-free by taking his old medication and dying with dignity.

So for the intensive care unit I would easily give 100 stars because the people there do a 1000% good job, my mother was in a coma there and I am grateful to the doctors and nurses for so much. But after my mother was awake and ready to be transferred to another ward or2, the drama began. They put her in a single room, my mother was in need of care and couldn't even ring the bell on her own. 101 days in a coma left their mark. Afterwards, very little attention was paid to our relatives, giving us hope that everything would be okay again. When I went to see my mother on a Friday, I found out that she had come to the emergency room because my mother's values were not good. They didn't think it was necessary to call to let them know. They wanted to get rid of them on Monday. But since I was talking to a doctor down in the emergency room at the time who told me my mother couldn't be discharged like that, it was quickly ordered from above that my mother should be taken to the acute ward and so the nice doctor in the emergency room unfortunately couldn't take my medical history make mother. It continued that I decided that I couldn't provide 24-hour care at home and unfortunately I sent my mother to a nursing home. The social services made a fuss because they wanted to get rid of my mother quickly. In 48 hours I found a nursing home for my mother and my mother was brought there on Thursday. My mother's new family doctor immediately told me that everything the orthopedic surgeons had given them was wrong, her mother was a catastrophe. My mother lived for another 6 weeks, 2 of which were in the Unna Clinic, where, even though my mother had already been in Bochum and couldn't eat anything, it was discovered that my mother had stomach paralysis. As I said, intensive care unit 1000% stars but the or2 unfortunately a complete defeat unfriendly nurses. Medicines were often not given and nurses threw them away in front of relatives. Unfriendly staff

The star that has to be given away. Ridiculous. I wouldn't even give it one star. So what a dirty clinic this is. Calling today about my Crohn's disease. I just get rudely asked why I would call at such a time. Was supposed to contact me again on Monday and was hung up on. Online is specially open 24 hours a day.

I came to neurology at St. Josef Hospital - Bochum with a severe myasthenic crisis. Here Prof. Dr. Gold and his team managed to get me back on my feet. The competent, meticulous nature of the examination was impressive and ultimately the key to success. Many thanks again to everyone involved.

(Translated by Google) My father was admitted a week ago with a fractured femur and a fractured arm. The operation went well, but the arm was not operated on. Inquiries always came up: if I can't say, you have to ask the doctor. The trauma surgery department is constantly overloaded and has no time. After several calls, it was said with an annoyed undertone that the arm op was not necessary. Since it was only possible to communicate by phone, I noticed the increasing lethargy every day. When the move to the geriatric ward in Wattenscheid was finally imminent and my mother pointed out the health insurance card with the request to deposit it at reception, it came back: there are only two of us, I don't have time. Now the card is gone. My father blossoms again in the geriatric ward, his voice grows stronger every day.

(Translated by Google) Good organization, also with regard to Corona. At the reception you first have to fill out a corona form and have a fever measured. Everything was very hygienic, even for the pens there were two containers 'used' and 'new'. Friendly employees and good doctors. The parking fees are also reasonable. (Translated by Google) I've been waiting for an appointment for months, full of hope that, according to the other doctors, only the dermatology clinic will remain and after leaving the clinic, I am so disappointed and depressed and wonder what I was doing there. First disaster when registering. Medical assistants totally overwhelmed and in a bad mood. What do I care if there is still coffee left. After all, I've been waiting for almost 2 hours OK. Then it was my turn. The young doctor was super nice and recorded everything. Then she brought in the chief doctor. Catastrophe. Only on the cell phone does not look or hear properly the problems with the skin .. has. Is totally uninteresting what you have. Is nothing bad is neurological. Zack can't help me and say that I should go to the internist again. I was through everything. So 3 hours plus travel for nothing. But the main thing is to settle. Also 3Stunden zzgl. Anfahrt für nichts. Aber Hauptsache abrechnen.

Utterly useless. The phone tree is dysfunctional and after multiple attempts to get through (with a waiting time of over 10 minutes at each trial and multiple connection breakdowns) one is told that appointments are available in six months! to come. This is, of course, indicative of terrible planning, staff shortages and therefore suggests bad hospital management. Who in their right mind would then be even remotely interested in treatment there? It has the stench of incompetence and failure written all over it.

I'm reviewing the parking garage here because I had to visit someone. It's outrageously expensive. You can only pay with cash and you will not receive any receipts. Very strange. This is the only parking garage I know where you can't pay by card.

Volle Punktzahl.

(Translated by Google) Many thanks to the competent and friendly team of surgeons, anesthetics and nurses in general surgery 1. My bile was removed and I always felt very well looked after from the operation to my discharge. Accommodation was in a good twin room. Disadvantage: almost no reception in the house, unfortunately no WiFi available. Due to the construction of the new operating room, we had noise directly in front of the window from 7 am to 6 pm. The food unfortunately took some getting used to.
