I
started
bachata
at
LaCalidad
in
March
2022
and
now
I
can't
imagine
my
life
without
this
dance
school!
We
have
three
bachata
trainers:
Chris,
Paddy
and
Ivan
who
teach
the
basics
in
a
very
similar
way.
The
main
focus
here
is
on
the
hip
and
upper
body
movements,
which
can
be
learned
100%
through
diligence.
The
focus
on
these
movement
patterns
is
much
greater
at
LaCalidad
than
in
other
dance
schools,
in
which
the
figure
material
is
usually
more
in
the
foreground.
However,
good
dancers
are
not
characterized
by
a
large
repertoire
of
figures,
but
by
the
fact
that
every
single
movement
looks
simply
impressive.
And
that's
exactly
what
is
taught
in
this
"technique
training"
with
a
focus
on
hip
and
upper
body
movements.
The
three
bachata
trainers
complement
each
other
perfectly.
Chris
is
the
most
demanding
of
the
three,
expecting
hard
work
and
giving
very
direct
feedback.
His
feedback
is
incredibly
helpful
because
it's
not
specific
to
a
single
character,
it's
aimed
at
a
specific
pattern,
so
it's
used
over
and
over
again.
For
example,
where
the
leader's
gaze
goes
in
the
shadow
position
and
how
that
affects
the
feeling
when
dancing.
It's
often
those
little
details
that
can
make
a
big
difference
if
you're
aware
of
them.
Ivan
scores
with
his
incredible
charisma
and
extroversion.
He
is
the
best
to
feel
the
"bachata
vibes".
At
the
same
time
he
is
technically
very
clean
and
is
one
of
my
absolute
favorite
bacha
dancers!
He
is
super
appreciative
and
can
convey
a
lot
of
joy
when
dancing!
But
at
the
same
time
he
is
also
critical
and
improves
us.
And
I
love
his
taste
in
music
(e.g.
Dama's
Provenza
is
such
a
typical
"Ivan
song"
that
I
love).
Paddy
actually
comes
from
salsa
(and
of
course
also
teaches
salsa
at
LaCalidad),
but
due
to
his
enormous
dance
experience
it
is
easy
for
him
to
teach
bachata
as
well.
He
knows
exactly
how
to
teach
so
that
the
whole
thing
is
didactically
meaningful.
With
him
you
never
feel
left
behind,
but
always
in
good
hands.
To
feel
100%
comfortable
in
Bachata
and
to
get
started,
he
is
the
best.
Of
course,
if
he
wants
to,
he
can
also
push
it
to
the
limit.
But
that's
not
usually
his
typical
teaching
style.
The
three
trainers
are
also
ideal
for
developing
your
own
bachata
style,
since
the
basics
are
completely
the
same
for
all
of
them,
but
a
different
style
becomes
visible
in
the
more
advanced
area.
Chris'
style
is
shaped
by
his
enormous
experience
in
modern
dance.
His
transitions
are
all
optimal
and
the
movements
as
smooth
as
imaginable.
Ivan
scores
with
his
hip-hop
vibe
and
Paddy
likes
to
bring
in
special
effects
like
multiple
spins,
various
hand
flips
and
the
like.
Alisha
teaches
the
hip
hop
classes
and
is
an
incredibly
nice
person
who
makes
everyone
feel
comfortable
in
her
classes!
This
is
particularly
important
in
the
"Freestyle"
lessons,
as
it
is
a
great
challenge
for
most
people
to
dance
freely
to
music
in
front
of
others.
I
actually
managed
to
dance
freely
in
her
classes,
although
that's
usually
not
in
my
comfort
zone!
Apart
from
her
great
nature,
she
is
of
course
also
an
incredibly
good
dancer!
Just
look
at
a
video
of
her
on
Instagram
and
you
will
immediately
know
what
I
am
talking
about!
Besides
the
music
(emotional,
calm
music,
exactly
my
style),
my
motivation
for
modern
dance
is
the
body
control
that
you
learn
there.
If
you
can
do
modern
dance,
you
can
also
learn
Bachata,
Salsa
and
all
other
dances
in
a
very
short
time.
Modern
is
really
challenging,
but
the
challenge
pays
off!
I
had
tested
modern
dance
for
about
two
months
and
noticed
how
much
easier
bachata
is
now
for
me.
And
that
my
movements
in
dancing
look
better
in
general.
If
you're
looking
for
a
challenge,
you've
come
to
the
right
place!

Ich
habe
im
März
2022
mit
Bachata
im
LaCalidad
angefangen
und
kann
mir
mein
Leben
mittlerweile
nicht
mehr
ohne
diese
Tanzschule
vorstellen!
Wir
haben
drei
Bachatatrainer:
Chris,
Paddy
und
Ivan,
die
die
Basics
sehr
ähnlich
unterrichten.
Hier
stehen
vor
allem
die
Hüft-
und
Oberkörperbewegungen
im
Vordergrund,
die
man
zu
100%
durch
Fleiß
erlernen
kann.
Der
Fokus
auf
diese
Bewegungsmuster
ist
bei
LaCalidad
deutlich
größer
als
in
anderen
Tanzschulen,
in
denen
meist
das
Figurenmaterial
eher
im
Vordergrund
steht.
Gute
Tänzer
macht
aber
nicht
ein
großes
Repertoire
an
Figuren
aus,
sondern,
dass
jede
einzelne
Bewegung
einfach
beeindruckend
aussieht.
Und
genau
das
wird
in
diesem
"Techniktraining"
mit
Fokus
auf
Hüft-
und
Oberkörperbewegungen
beigebracht.
Die
drei
Bachatatrainer
ergänzen
sich
optimal.
Chris
ist
der
Forderndste
der
drei,
der
Fleiß
erwartet
und
sehr
direktes
Feedback
gibt.
Sein
Feedback
ist
unglaublich
hilfreich,
weil
es
nicht
auf
eine
einzelne
Figur
bezogen
ist,
sondern
auf
ein
bestimmtes
Muster
abzielt
und
daher
immer
wieder
Anwendung
findet.
Beispielsweise
wo
der
Blick
des
Leaders
in
der
Shadow
Position
hingeht
und
inwiefern
das
das
Feeling
Beim
Tanzen
beeinflusst.
Es
sind
oft
solche
kleinen
Details,
die
einen
großen
Unterschied
machen
können,
wenn
man
sie
sich
bewusst
macht.
Ivan
punktet
mit
seiner
unglaublichen
Ausstrahlung
und
Extrovertiertheit.
Er
ist
der
Beste
um
die
"Bachata-Vibes"
zu
spüren.
Gleichzeitig
ist
er
technisch
auch
noch
sehr
sauber
und
zählt
zu
meinen
absoluten
Lieblingsbachatatänzern!
Er
ist
super
wertschätzend
und
kann
viel
Freude
beim
Tanzen
vermitteln!
Gleichzeitig
ist
er
aber
auch
kritisch
und
verbessert
uns.
Und
ich
liebe
seinen
Musikgeschmack
(z.B.
Provenza
von
Dama
ist
so
ein
typischer
"Ivan-Song",
den
ich
liebe).
Paddy
kommt
eigentlich
aus
dem
Salsa
(und
unterrichtet
natürlich
auch
Salsa
im
LaCalidad),
aber
aufgrund
seiner
enormen
Tanzerfahrung
ist
es
für
ihn
eine
Leichtigkeit
auch
Bachata
zu
unterrichten.
Er
weiß
genau,
wie
er
unterrichten
muss,
damit
das
ganze
didaktisch
sinnvoll
ist.
Bei
ihm
fühlt
man
sich
nie
abgehängt,
sondern
immer
sehr
gut
aufgehoben.
Um
sich
erstmal
100%
wohlzufühlen
im
Bachata
und
den
Einstieg
zu
finden,
ist
er
der
Beste.
Wenn
er
möchte,
kann
er
aber
natürlich
auch
bis
zum
Limit
fordern.
Das
ist
aber
gewöhnlich
nicht
sein
typischer
Unterrichtsstil.
Auch
um
seinen
eigenen
Bachatastil
zu
entwickeln,
sind
die
drei
Trainer
optimal,
da
die
Grundlagen
bei
allen
komplett
übereinstimmen,
aber
im
fortgeschritteneren
Bereich
ein
anderer
Stil
sichtbar
wird.
Der
Stil
von
Chris
ist
durch
seine
enorme
Erfahrung
im
Modern
Dance
geprägt.
Seine
Übergänge
sind
alle
optimal
und
die
Bewegungen
so
weich
wie
nur
vorstellbar.
Ivan
punktet
durch
seinen
teils
in
Richtung
Hiphop
gehenden
Vibe
und
Paddy
bringt
gerne
Special-Effects
wie
Mehrfachdrehungen,
diverse
Handflips
und
ähnliches
rein.
Alisha
unterrichtet
die
Hiphop
Kurse
und
ist
eine
unglaublich
liebe
Person,
die
es
schafft,
dass
sich
wirklich
jeder
wohl
fühlt
in
ihren
Kursen!
Gerade
in
den
"Freestyle"
Lessons
ist
das
echt
wichtig,
da
das
für
die
meisten
eine
große
Herausforderung
ist,
vor
anderen
frei
auf
Musik
zu
tanzen.
Mir
ist
es
tatsächlich
gelungen,
in
ihren
Kursen
frei
zu
tanzen,
obwohl
das
normalerweise
eher
weniger
in
meiner
Komfortzone
liegt!
Abgesehen
von
ihrer
tollen
Art
ist
sie
natürlich
auch
eine
unglaublich
gute
Tänzerin!
Schaut
euch
einfach
mal
ein
Video
auf
Instagram
von
ihr
an
und
ihr
wisst
sofort
wovon
ich
spreche!
Meine
Motivation
für
Modern
Dance
ist
neben
der
Musik
(emotionale
ruhige
Musik,
genau
mein
Stil),
die
Körperbeherrschung
die
man
dort
erlent.
Wer
Modern
Dance
kann,
der
kann
quasi
auch
Bachata,
Salsa
und
alle
weiteren
Tänze
in
kürzester
Zeit
erlernen.
Modern
ist
richtig
anspruchsvoll,
aber
die
Herausforderung
zahlt
sich
aus!
Ich
hatte
ca.
zwei
Monate
lang
Modern
Dance
getestet
und
merke,
wie
viel
leichter
mir
Bachata
nun
fällt.
Und
dass
meine
Bewegungen
im
Tanzen
allgemein
besser
aussehen.
Wer
eine
Herausforderung
sucht,
der
ist
hier
genau
richtig!
