In
retrospect,
I
am
horrified
by
the
billing
modalities.
The
operation
by
Dr.
Rosenthal,
the
treatment
in
the
clinic
was
good,
all
the
nurses
and
Dr.
Randel
were
very
nice
and
everything
was
fine.
I
had
knee
surgery
in
January
2023
(arthrolysis
for
arthrofibrosis).
This
was
my
6th
operation
in
total
at
the
Viktoria
Clinic.
Until
now,
I
had
to
pay
what
the
health
insurance
and
the
benefit
had
reimbursed
me,
plus
a
small
contribution,
no
matter
how
high
the
bill
was.
During
the
preliminary
examinations
for
the
last
operation,
I
had
to
sign
the
cost
coverage
declaration,
as
always,
and
I
also
said
that,
as
always,
I
would
submit
the
invoice
to
the
financial
aid
and
then
send
the
notification
to
the
Viktoria
Clinic.
This
was
not
negated
and
I
was
not
given
any
further
verbal
information.
If
I
had
known
back
then
what
was
coming,
I
would
never
have
had
the
operation
there.
Shortly
after
the
operation
the
bill
came,
which
surprised
me
as
the
same
operation
had
already
taken
place
in
2019
with
the
same
hospital
stay.
In
2019
the
invoice
amount
was
3,641.77,
in
2023
it
was
8,643.90!!!
As
a
layperson,
I
am
not
aware
that
the
operation
was
calculated
separately
in
the
invoice
amount
in
2019
and
will
be
included
in
the
hospital
bill
in
2023.
I
then
submitted
the
invoice
to
the
aid
and
was
reimbursed
an
amount
minus
2,191.10.
The
refunded
amount
incl.
In
February,
I
transferred
the
personal
contribution
calculated
by
the
aid
to
the
Viktoria
Klinik
account,
as
I
did
after
every
operation
and
it
had
always
been
fine
up
to
now,
and
I
was
of
the
opinion
that
the
bill
had
been
settled.
Today,
May
9th.
I
received
a
payment
reminder
for
2,193.60
(including
reminder
fee)!!!!!
Astonished,
I
called
the
Viktoria
Klinik,
where
they
told
me
that
I
had
been
informed
before
the
operation
that
it
was
now
an
ATOS
clinic
and
that
it
would
be
billed
differently
or
like
a
real
private
clinic...
Now
I'm
very
horrified.
Because
if
I
had
known
that
I
would
have
to
pay
over
2,000
euros,
I
would
never
have
had
the
operation
there.
It
is
now
being
examined
whether
a
small
part
can
be
waived.
But
I
will
still
have
to
pay
a
four-figure
amount
out
of
my
own
pocket.
So
before
the
operation,
ask
what
costs
are
to
be
expected
and
whether
the
insurance/benefit
will
cover
this
and
what
additional
payments
are
to
be
expected!!!!
