What great hosts. We enjoyed the bittersweet pleasure of having the camp to ourselves because of the current sad situation. We felt important to not cancel and to enjoy the Jordanian hospitality. The basic tents were good but there was a bit of a strong incense smell initially. That’s the only downside. The food was great. The hosts also helped us out so much when I came down with a nasty cough (not covid) I missed a lot of the activities but my wife as treated amazingly. The bathrooms were fine. Our friends had the deluxe place and really enjoyed the sunrise.

Joined 2 days 2 nights tour and stayed in the regular tent. I am satisfied and happy with the tour as well as the tour guide. The first day we spent time with other group mates to walk the canyon, do sand boarding, crazy climbing at Lawrence’s spring. We did the simple but delicious lunch, and some relaxing time after the lunch (which Im also expected because the local said they will take nap after lunch to avoid activities at the hottest time of the day). The dinner is also great with variety of food. After dinner we spent some time dancing with the group and listened to the local singing. The regular tent is very basic, literally a bed and a small table and trash bin. The shared bathroom is clean and there is hot water for a quick shower. I have nothing to complain. On the second day we drove to the southern part of Wadi Rum and we hiked at the highest mountain in Jordan. A very tiring but yet rewarding hike! We also spend a long time having lunch with our tour guide afterwards and had a nice chat exchanging our culture. This is what travelling is about, we know more about others’ culture, we respect each other, I treasured this moment with our tour guide a lot. What I think is you cannot expect luxury food and accommodation in the desert, and the camp is what I am expecting to experience. If you are not prepared to walk a lot and experiencing the desert, maybe you should stay in a hotel instead. I highly recommended this tour, if you are a hiker, you should also challenge to hike the highest mountain in Jordan as well! I am glad I chose a 2 days 2 nights tour here.

Unforgettable time and what an amazing place. The sunset was a dream. During the tours, while being guided through the desert and contemplating the beatiful views, there was always plenty of fresh water and tea being offered. We stayed for two days and two nights. The food was some of the best we had while in Jordan, from the lunch prepared in the middle of the desert (followed by a relaxing nap), to the buffet dinner in the camp with some delicious traditional dishes. We chose the non-luxury tents, just a bed, but comfortable, and the shared bathroom was always very clean and with hot water for shower. Great value for money! 100% recommend

Absolutely fantastic experience. Three amazing days with tours - Mohammed, our guide, was so knowledgeable with a warm and entertaining personality that made the wonder of Wadi Rum extra special. The evening’s singing and dancing was really fun and the food excellent. Such a professional set-up with everything running smoothly from start to finish. Stayed in the luxury tent - balcony even had a huge padded swinging bed which made gazing up at the sea of stars magical.

We stayed at the Rum Stars Camp for 3 nights in August. We chose the executive suite to benefit from A/C during the summer (which fyi only works from 7pm to 7am) and the standing was exceptional: spacious room well furnished and comfy with a private bathroom, huge window/door leading to a beautiful terrace with a desert view and perfect seating area. The camp in itself was perfect, and well located in the protected area of Wadi Rum. There is a common sitting area where everyone reunited at night for a cup of tea and some discussions by the fire. Breakfast and diner were buffet style. The dinners were particularly tasty with a lot of choices, very well made, including typical chicken/vegetables cooked underground. Lunch was prepared by our guide during our visits of Wadi Rum, perfect as well. We booked two days of visit of Wadi Rum, in a private tour (120 JOD/pers for two days) so we were just the two of us with our guide Mohamed. We visited a lot of wonderful places, did some hiking/climbing (easy) and rest in shadowy places during the hottest period of the day. We discussed beforehand to leave very early (5.30 am) and enjoy the cold weather and sunrise, which was easily organized with the camp manager Youssef. If you decide to book tours directly with Rum Stars Camp, I cannot recommend you more to request Mohamed as your guide. He loves beautiful and silent places, with no one around, just like us, which made the perfect fit! He showed us great places, provided us with explanations about the sites and nature, and cooked us delicious lunch! He was kind, patient and funny - and also a really good photograph :) He made sure to tailor the tours to our interests, and on our last day he offered us the ingredients to make the traditional Bedouin tea as I asked him about the recipe two days before... which is enough in itself to demonstrate what a great person he is! All this to say we 100% recommend this camp!
