To be in the church where a Saint was baptized is incredible! A beautiful church, 'renovated' to include images of the late Pontiffs encyclicals. Images of the Saint abound. I wish they kept the church the way it was when he would have been praying there, but beautiful, directly across the street from his childhood home.

Best to visit during Sunday mass and get the whole religious pilgrimage experience at the church of the Polish pope-now-saint. After mass, the crowds disperse and you can do your touristy thingy since the church would still be open. This is the church where Pope John Paul II was baptised at his young age. His parental house is adjacent to the church. The Pope himself always upheld the importance of this church in his upbringing. It has a white facade. Inside there are three naives. There is a large market square in front of the church. Tourists always crowd this church as it is associated with the Pope.

Nice church, but you come here for the history, as this was the church of Pope John Paul II's childhood.

Pope John Paul II, beautiful church and city!

I was absolutely thrilled with the location, and the church bells were simply enchanting. The bells chimed to the rhythm of the melody 'Lord, You Have Come' adding a touch of divine serenity to the entire experience.

A little bit off the beaten path for major tourist areas in Poland but a must see if you're a fan of Saint John Paul II. This is the parish he was baptized in, made First Communion in, etc
