A truly magnificent place in the world and a pride of Germany. It's magnificent, an incredible sight to witness! One of the nicest views in the Alps; highly recommended. I especially advise a lake cruise. The ship's crew performs a trumpet melody that is absolutely stunning as it passed through the mountains. Would love to go again.

I have been to most see in Germany and around and I must say that the name does justice to this place. This fjord is stunning throughout and doesn't matter what part of the year you go there.Ticket price for ferry for an adult for Königssee > St. Bartholomä round trip was 20€.I do recommend this 100%.It takes about 35 mins one way.Do get down at St. Bartholomä and have a walk. Easily accessible by transport and a daily parking ticket cost about 8€. There are plenty of restaurants to eat and so WC. You could even buy some souvenirs but they are slightly expensive.

Absolutely gorgeous place, superb views of the mountains and lakes combined. There is a boat ride which will cost you 25 euro for adults and 12 euro for children. You can also carry your pet which will cost 4 euro but you have to put mask on the boat. There are some hotels available to stay near by lake and feel the peacefulness and natural beauty.

One of the best places for vacation. People can enjoy their holiday with family and friends. During summer time we can enjoy the sunshine and the gorgeous views. I will definitely go there again with my wife and kids.

Gorgeous place. Make sure to take the boat ride. They play trumpet and it echoes with the structure of the mountains. Truly one of the most moving events I have witnessed. 100% recommend.

One of the best view in Alps, absolutely worth seeing. Especially strongly recommend lake cruise. The trumpet melody played by the crew of ship among mountains was something realy breathtaking.

Königssee is a stunning natural wonder nestled in the heart of Bavaria, Germany. This pristine glacial lake is often referred to as Germany's "Fjord" due to its unique shape and crystal-clear waters. Surrounded by towering alpine peaks, Königssee is a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Visiting Königssee feels like stepping into a postcard. The water is so transparent that you can see all the way to the lake's bottom, making boat rides an enchanting experience. The echo of the boatman's trumpet in the Echo Wall is a delightful tradition that resonates with the natural beauty of the area. The charm of Königssee doesn't end with its stunning waters. Nestled within the Berchtesgaden National Park, this place offers a plethora of hiking trails, from leisurely walks to challenging climbs. Exploring the lush forests and serene meadows surrounding the lake is a must for those seeking a deeper connection with nature. Königssee is rich in history and culture as well. The iconic St. Bartholomew's Church, with its red-domed spires, is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and a symbol of the region. The little chapel adds a touch of mystique to the already picturesque landscape. For outdoor enthusiasts and photographers, Königssee is a dream come true. Whether you're capturing the mirror-like reflections on the lake's surface, hiking through the pristine wilderness, or simply basking in the serenity of this Bavarian gem, Königssee is a destination that should be on every traveler's bucket list. Don't forget your camera, as you'll want to capture every breathtaking moment of your visit.

No words to describe how beautiful it is. Take the boat to Salet. Walk over to Obersee, you can walk to the other side, but not suitable if you are not so mobile, as you have to hike / climb some "rock" stairs. It can be very slippery. It is about 40 min one way walk

If you are here to hike you'll see beautiful nature! Just take an early boat, otherwise you will drown in a lot of people. The boats are expensive and they try to sell you both-way tickets, even if you only need one-way ( if you want to buy the ticket online, you can only buy a two-way ticket) Says enough! The tourist information is very helpfull for hikers, so if you want to do really nice hikes (yes, it is possible) come and ask some information at the info point. The conditions are really oke to skip one of the two ways at the boat 😀 The nature is beautiful, the hikes are amazing but you have to see through all the shops, money-making ticket sellers and expensive boats.

This rift created during the ice age is a pleasure to watch. It is a must-visit place if you are in Germany. Rent the kayaking boat for an hour or two instead of a motorboat to explore the lake.

Stunning. Absolutely stunning. If you visit you should definitely take the ferry, the €20 is worth it and travel to obersee as well. If going in summer bring swimwear and take a dip in the lakes!

Very beautiful lake. Long queue for tickets. To avoid long queues buy tickets online. You will get tickets according to time slots, so you need to reach on time. We had done this from Salzburg. It can be done from Munich also, but it is closer to Salzburg. 49 euro tickets valid for Germany potion and need to buy a bus ticket from Salzburg to Germany border. It is 3.10 euro right now. On returning we had taken the BRB train from Berchesgaden to Salzburg and it was covered in a 49 euro ticket. All in all it is a worthy trip on a sunny day.

One of best places to visit in Germany. The lake is surrounded by mountains that provide breathtaking views of the lake. You can take ship or paddled boat to explore the lake.

this place moved me to tears. Come in winter! A very simple and easy walk available even to people with disabilities will take you to a fabulous landscape and will take only 1-1.5 hours!

a nice port town with many restaurants and a shop for buying souvenirs... you can take a boat that takes you to the other side of the lake for a fee, even with a dog, which must be muzzled... but a beautiful place with nice views and seating

The most beautiful lake of Germany is Konigsee! It’s around 4 hour by public transport from Munich. But if you wake up early enough, you can go for a day trip here.

Nice lake but very touristic and quite crowded on the weekend. There are many stalls in which you can grab something to eat or drink. Many souvenir shops. As we were traveling with a reactive dog, we didn't take a boat tour but rather walked around the lake. Found a nice spot from which you could see the lake, but it wasn't the best view.

One of the best places to go in Germany. It's beautiful the boat ride takes a 2 hour round trip and the charge is 27eur round trip. There are 2 stops to go visit but the best is obersee. The trekk to the waterfall is another 2 hours but it's worth it the whole Trekk is so beautiful. Just make sure there is only 2 restaurant as soon as u come out of the boat so eat before after the trekk starts there nothing u get to eat

The cruise ship booked online in advance and had the cruise ship number and boarding time, but when I went, I was somewhat embarrassed because I just lined up and boarded any ship as soon as it came. In the middle of the lake, the captain played the trumpet and came to get tips on his hat. Tipping is free and I think I gave half of the passengers. König see highly recommends going all the way to salat. The magnificent view of Königsee is from salat.

A beautiful lake to visit! We didn’t get off the boat but there seemed to be hiking and restaurants if you did! It was very clear water and the boats are electric I believe so it’s pretty quiet. From the parking lot you can see the Eagles Nest. Many places on the way there to get gelato or lunch!

Words and photos cannot properly describe the beauty of this place. It’s a bit hard to get to, from Berchtesgaden you need to take a bus ride. It takes about 15 minutes but the buses don’t come very frequently. Only once an hour so be mindful to check the time table

Very beautiful lake! Very busy but there are enough boats that the wait is not long. The tour is not offered in English but not really necessary to understand what they are saying as the views themself are beautiful!

Nice lake and very impressive but very touristic and quite crowded even we were there during the week (on Monday). We took the boat to another island and walked around the island. It took abt 30' to walk around the island.

We didn't have much time, and could not take the boat ride to st. Bartholomew chapel, but that was okay. Hiked there from the maintrain station to Koenigssee and rode the bus back to the hauptbahnhof. Absolutely, worth the time to hang and enjoy even if short.

Its such a lovely lake and an easy day trip from Salzburg. We travelled with a 6 year old and it was fine We caught bus 840 from Salzburg HBF to Berchtesgaden and from there Bus 841 takes you to Kongssee (Kings Lake) Be mindful that bus 840 runs every hour and sometime every half hour Unfortunately it was foggy and raining on the day we had allocated to visit the lake so we didn’t go up the ski lift for the view, but we did do the boat ride and enjoyed it Its no jet boar ;) its a nice but very slow electric boat

One of the best lakes in Europe. One should visit this lake once if the that one is in Europe. Tip: Summer is the best time to go here.

It's a must to see beautiful lake surrounded by beautiful mountains. Don't miss the boat trip to Salet from where it's a short walk to the gorgeous Obersee.
