After a week in Hawaii seeing and doing amazing things, I was afraid this experience might not be up to par. How wrong I was as this was the most fun thing my 7 and 9 year old did all week! Caitlin was great with the girls, took time to explain, and had a lot of patience. The location was fantastic and again Caitlin was very safe and observant with the girls in the water as they know how to swim but aren’t great swimmers yet. One quit early but it didn’t detract from the other’s experience. Great photos and a lot of them which is always a plus for my wife. She took them snorkeling and they finally got to see a turtle which had been elusive the entire trip to that point. The two hours she spent with the girls allowed us some time to relax and just enjoy the morning. Finally, the value was by far worth it! We had a private lesson with Caitlin in the ocean that was less than our resort was charging for a group class in the pool.

I hired a session of mermaid lessons with Hawaii Mermaid Adventures. Caitlin was my instructor and she was great. I was initially reluctant to even get in the water because I was afraid, but she was very supportive and understanding. First she taught me some basics and took very nice photos of me in the beach. Finally I was convinced to get in the water and I´m glad that I did. She was very patient and encouraging. It was a great experience. I have also purchased a tail, but I´ll post a review about that when I receive it.

Lila is a beautiful soul. A true mermaid. Her love and connection to the ocean and her passion for the Hawaiian islands is a wonderful treasure to share. Our mermaid swim was spectacular. A perfect day in the bay populated with sea turtles and marine life, the experience of navigating the reef and waters as a mermaid was among the best and most memorable on my visit to Maui. There is nothing like gliding through the pristine Hawaiian waters with the flick of your tail, as a mermaid. The photos of my mermaid swim are ethereal and capture the tranquil beauty and memory of this otherworldly adventure. Thank you Lila. What an amazing experience. Xx

I thought Mermaid Emily was amazing. She checked everyone in, set everyone up with the correct mermaid tail and gave clear instructions, taught about care of the ocean, took pictures of each participant doing various poses or swimming, and taught the participants how to snorkel. The only negative was that there were three women who were there to help and did absolutely nothing; they could have helped speed things along, by signing in the participants, handing out the correct mermaid tail, help to get mermaid tail on and make sure it fit (some needed different sizes). Mermaid Emily did EVERYTHING so it seems she could have been freed up a little to work with the mermaids.

My 7 year old saved up her allowance and purchased this adventure for herself. We can not say enough about how amazing it was! We did a private lesson at Makena Beach and the photos are spectacular (and included!!). The lesson on conservation was much appreciated and my daughter loved snorkeling with the tail on. She is an average swimmer for her age and had no problems with the tail. 100% worth it and I have been recommending it to everyone.

Lila was an amazing instructor., she made me feel very comfortable swimming in the ocean with the tail. You don't only learn how to swim like a mermaid, she also teaches you things about the ocean. i would definitely be doing this again when I go back to Maui.

Caitlin was our teacher, and she could not have been a more patient and excellent teacher. What amazing photos she captured! She explained how to use the tail very clearly, but my 10 year old daughter and I were not very successful at it...lol. She took us around snorkeling for a bit instead, which was wonderful as well. I really appreciated her patience and understanding. It was definitely worth it - don't pass up if you have a child that loves mermaids (or loved them yourself as a child) :).

Our instructor was very cool and kind! I took my cousin who is 12 and she loved it. I loved it too! We went out by the reef and even saw a stingray which was really awesome. I would recommend this for anyone who has always wanted to be a mermaid!

A morning with Hawaii Mermaid Adventures is an absolute must while in Maui! Mermaids can opt for photos or a mermaid swim lesson. I took the swim lesson which came with some beautiful pics. We swam at Makena Beach, near my hotel in Wailea. I studied with Mermaid Manya; she was so nice and patient and an excellent photographer. (She took the pics below). Based on some of these pics, you would never know that I am not a great swimmer and needed a lot of help. (Remember - this is the equivalent of swimming with your ankles tied together). HMA will work with you and make sure you get the right tails for your body type and to match your top. I can't wait to get out there and swim with them again! Be sure to budget for some of their cute merch. I couldn't leave without one of their adorable trucker hats! I believe they are now giving lessons at the Westin Kaanapali at one of their pools! You can mermaid it up in Kaanapali and Wailea!

Our daughters (13&15) had a wonderful time with Lila of Hawaii Mermaid Adventures! She taught them some Hawaiian history and culture, some Hawaiian lingo, and about the reefs and ocean life. Then they chose their mermaid tails, had a beautiful photo shoot on the beach and a laughing giggling time swimming with Lila in the beautiful reef. The girls had a great time and I loved the photos Lila captured for us!

My girls loved Mermaid Adventures! Lila was a great Mermaid and was very good with my 8 and 5 year old daughters. My girls kept asking if they were going to get mermaid lessons every day! My older daughter who is aspiring to be a Marine Biologist really liked Lila who is a Marine Biologist and was very knowledgeable about the local marine life. Thanks again for a wonderful experience.

My daughter kept telling me she wanted a mermaid tail to swim with, so when we saw Maui Mermaid Adventures advertised we knew it was the perfect birthday present for our 6 year old little mermaid. Heather was an awesome guide, very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. The location she took us to was beautiful. My daughter was a little nervous at first but in no time she was attempting her own dives and doing saumersaults with her fin. Her success can largely be credited to Heather’s calm, confident approach and ability to create a safe and fun learning environment. As an adult I had fun seeing how far in could down and how long I could swim with the fin. And the pictures turned out awesome! Highly recommend!
