overall this is a good store, with friendly helpful employees and good prices. unfortunately their fish, especially freshwater leaves a good bit to be desired. the entire area was pretty messy and I saw way too many sick fish, or fish that needed to be removed because they had died. I'll continue to buy their products for my tank, and their fish employee seemed to really know what she was talking about, but I don't think I'll be buying their fish. At least until they get this cleared up.

Overall, friendly staff and a good Petco location. Wanted to make a point to say that Kaci in grooming did an excellent job with my dachshund and I am so happy with his trim. It’s exactly what I was hoping for.

On 7/25/22 I went to buy a fish for my daughter. At the time, I was unaware the aquatic department closed earlier than the rest of the store. I asked one of the workers there, a friendly woman with short hair, for assistance and she said she’d call for an associate to assist me in the aquatic department. I walked to the department and waited there patiently, and shortly after a skinny kid with black hair comes around the corner and screams at me that the department is closed. Now, I still had other things to buy at this point, besides the fish. But after he raised his voice at me for no reason, I straight left the store. I have a feeling their employees receive no training whatsoever. And he wreaked of alcohol. Unless that was a smell coming off of one of their products sitting on the shelves besides us. I live in Pearl City, and now I dread going into Petco.

Aloha; there are pet stores and there is Petco. The staff is amazing and they have almost anything you need. They have grooming for your dogs and cats and so much more. Also they do price matching and in hawaii it is awesome to have this. You will get great pricing from mainland and it helps for sure.

Bought some expensive canned cat food and my cat would not eat it. This was in preparation for while I was out of state. Well, tried to exchange for a cheaper brand of canned cat food that I know she will eat. Unfortunately, the company return/exchange policy is not customer friendly. As a loyal customer who spends hundreds of dollars a month on pet care items, I am now loosing money during a recession. Petco, do better for your customers. Very disappointed. Credit to the cashier who attempted to help me, she was so kind and patient.

Store is pretty easy to navigate with cats and dogs on opposite sides, and the smaller animals in the middle. The staff is always so kind and more then willing to help me find something they have in stocks. The store is clean and well stocked.

Sam is an amazing groomer! Not only was she professional but is kind and she makes us feel so welcome. Thank you for taking good care of my fur babies. I will definitely be using you again in the future!

Had our dog groomed at Petco. She's a big dog and was happy with the experience.

The store is ok. If you purchase online and pickup in store, sometimes it’s cheaper than buying in store. I’ve tried the grooming service twice this year, once in March and now in October with the same groomer. Last time, the groomer gave me an attitude when leaving my dog. When picking my dog up, the groomer’s attitude was a bit better. I decided to give them another chance. This time, I left my dog at 12pm. The groomer mentioned they were backed up. There were two dogs checking in after me that were also her clients, and that it would be about 4hrs (first time I went it was less than 2hrs). I came at 4:40pm and my dog still wasn’t groomed (but the two dogs checked in after mine were) and they needed 30 more minutes. Ended up picking her up at 5:30pm. I understand being backed up, but if that were the case I would have brought my dog back at a later hour instead of leaving her there for multiple hours alone when I know she gets anxious (like any dog would). This isn’t the groomers fault (being backed up) more so it’s the scheduling that was at fault. But my dog’s haircut was very well executed. All this to end up paying $90 for an experience I’m not completely happy with.

Christina did an amazing job grooming my Bernerdoodle, Bruno. Without a doubt, this was the greatest doodle cut we have found on the island. I'm overjoyed and intend to have Bruno as her only groom.

They were very kind and did an amazing job. They finished her in under 3 hours

My fur babies are been seeing this location for years. I don't have to worry about leaving them. The staff are very nice and helpful every visit. Thank you all

Update of my previous review from the midst of the pandemic. Everyone was tense! I came back and found the store clean, well stocked and the associates were very nice and efficient. All around a good experience!

I needed assistance and recommendations for bowls for flying with our pets. The employee that helped me was knowledgeable and kind. We were able to find what we needed. Best petco on island.

We walked in without an appointment to get my dog's nails trimmed. The girl up at the front took my dog in right away and did the nail trimming herself. It was done in a timely manner. Inspected my dog's nails and they were cut perfectly. Left happy :)

Groomer Kaylee was very helpful on the phone. She was the groomer who cared for my dog. She was very patient in trimming & buffing my dog’s nails (my dog doesn’t like this).

Store is always clean and the staff are quick to help whenever you ask a question. They have a good selection for the store size as well.

Just your typical petco that you find everywhere else really. The employees have all came across super friendly which is nice. Been in here all to often since we got a brand new puppy a few months ago. We buy her poop bags, treats, toys, and dog food here. Also been recently getting her groomed here as well. The groomers do a fabulous job and really take the time they need to make your dogs look and feel good. Thanks Petco!

I only interacted with three team members but they were all nice. First was a young lady I interrupted as she was tending to the guinea pigs, but she was nice as i showed her a pic of what I needed--a Y connector for my wife's breast pump tubing--which was by the fish stuff. They were just over $3, so I got 2 just in case. Then I didn't want to bother her again, so I caught a guy emerging from like a back room but at the front and asked if I could open one to test out on the length of tube I'd brought (hardware store best practice). He said ya no problem, and fortunately it fit, so I checked out after waiting not too long and was on my way. I've only been in a few pet stores but this one seemed big, well staffed and maintained; and based on my impression detailed here, legit.

Love vision this store and seeing others with their pets. We get our peanut butter biscuits for our pups and they love it,! 😉

This store has a problem with bugs in their foods/treats. Multiple times now I’ve either bought or looked at an item in store only to have it be crawling with little beetles inside.

Very expensive! However, they have a great Rewards program that offers lots of discounts, special events, and coupons once you reach the point level. They have just about the most comprehensive supply on pet items on the island. The best part is the knowledgeable staff! EVERY one of them is familiar with animal breed specific questions, supply brands, and they seem ready to help no matter what. They also recommend the best brands, not necessarily the most expensive. The dog obedience classes are very well priced! This location offers grooming services, too. It’s very easy to get an appointment, they work quickly and with quality, and I’ve had great experiences with their staff. My kids love that they have live cats right at the front, next to the obedience class area. They like to play with the kittens, look at the fish and turtles, and they love the SPCA adoption days.

Just picked up Pepper form a long last due grooming appointment. Christina A. did such a great job!! I highly recommend her.

Best groomer in my opinion is Nancy! She pays attention to the littlest of details, is very professional, personable and our dog King loves her! Getting “report cards” of his grooming is such a cute idea, always looking forward to it.

The people there are really nice but grooming NEVER picks up the phone!!! I call and call and nothing! It makes me so nervous because I want an update on my pet but they don’t pick up. Even if they’re busy pick up and say “hi I’m with a customer can you please hold” or something!!
