Indeed very accessible right at the train station end of Western line, food very delicious, coffee and hot chocolate just perfect. The only downside when whanau went for late lunch was the pressure the lady stuff had on her, 30mins left before closing time, there were customers still eating at the deck and she was pushing tables/chairs so hard producing annoying sound. We just left, seemed inappropriate and nasty.

Great service, coffee and food. Had my French Brioche Toast with grilled banana, streaky bacon, butterscotch and side of whipped cream! 👌🏼😍🤤Yummm. Not too sweet and not too salty, just perfect.

Great place with friendly, accommodation, and generous staff members complimented with good and yummy food. Although they don't have chips/fries, their rosti is definitely the better replacement. Very accessible being adjacent to the train station as well as having plenty of parking spaces. The public playgrounds next-door make this a great option to bring your children along.

The food was fast and delicious, and the service friendly. We got large coffees too and they were served in soup bowls, larger than expected! The ducks were very cute, this male was exceptionally entertaining and I even managed to pat him while he wasn't looking. 5 stars!

Staff are very compliant with the way they are treated. If you’re waiting for the train and cannot wait for coffee, please don’t order one and stress the barista out making others coffees come slower. The train has nothing to do with the job, they are just conveniently placed at a train station. Look around you and assess if there’s a wait, if so let the barista know you’re in a rush I’m sure she wouldn’t mind. 🫶

Great ambience , nice deck to enjoy a relaxing coffee or meal . The service was friendly and efficient. A good selection of food and drink . Average pricing. I had an omelette which was presented well and tasted nice - see attached photograph.

service is polite & friendly but don't eat the pies! if you don't mind 50% fat and gluggy chewy whatever it is and no cheese and very thin pastry with your steak and cheese pie then go for it! the smallest chunks of beef and while the flavour is there is doesn't make up for the inedible chunky bits of fat and sinew.

Every now and then we stop in here for brunch. No trouble getting a table, the food is excellent, and coffees are always good. Spend local and support a good cafe. Recommended.

Never had a bad meal here always great coffee as well.

Have rated 4 stars for food but only 3 otherwise since it is starting to look tired and needs money and imagination from the right operator to achieve it's true potential. Nevertheless, great amenity both for locals and explorers from the train. Closes far too early. Not helped by Council total neglect of parking area and adjacent park. Often see Council workers there but never see them actually doing anything other than sitting in their trucks and taking up customer spaces. R.

A very classic cafe. The flat white is served in bowl, very traditional! 👍👍 Chicken liver are delicious, well cooked with a balanced creamy and greasy taste. Stirred fried eggs are delicious too. A good cafe to dine.

Ordered coffee prior to ordering breakfast for our table it took ages and it wasn’t super busy Got my breakfast which was cold ( was a hot dish) told wait staff and they asked if I’d like it heated!!! Well actually I’d like it served hot in the first place ! They heated in microwave which overcooked the poached egg and this also took ages meaning most of my party had nearly finished eating ( theirs were also cold ) Won’t be back for awhile

Sadly this is a negative review. We ordered 2 coffees and something from the counter to take-away that was ready to go. After 20 minutes wait I went to ask for the coffee. I was given the excuse that they were busy. It wasn't that busy. I was told it would be 5 minutes. Still no coffee arrived so I went in again and chased them. They then finally arrive but still no food. We waited a further 5 minutes and the food came out on a plate and after 30 minutes wait?? I ordered takeaway so asked the guy if I could get takeaway. So disorganized for what looked like a normal amount of people. Won't be going back again sorry. The coffee was actually good but the service destroyed the experience.

This has to be one of the worst cafes I have ever been to, Ordered salmon fettuccine it was curdled and it’s clearly been heated up in the microwave! Partner got a burger which was ridiculous two brioche buns put together and squashed down with no flavoured nacho chips on the side? Not to forget the 16 year old teenage girls who make the drinks can’t even make a dam Frappuccino, They have 0 training or know what a frappe is you need qualified staff who know how to make drinks asked the staff to re make it as it was a milkshake and the second time they messed it up again so just left as is, I definitely wouldn’t recommend to any one this cafe is absolutely horrible

Nice food and decking to chill out on. Flat white was served in a soup bowl (probably because I got a large) but I still don't want to drink coffee out of a bowl.

Sadly I wouldn't recommend this place. The café itself is nice and the food is fine but the staff is SO rude. That's a real bummer and drags it down. The wait for coffees is never-ending. Went there a few times and every time had to wait at least 20/30 mins!! Had to ask for a refund a couple of times not to miss the train The staff never apologize, you can clearly tell they don't care and have no sense of pressure either.

We took a trip to Swanson by train to try out the coffee. I had a well brewed flat white and a piece of carrot cake that would definitely add to my waistline! Had to keep my eye on a duck that thought my cake looked like brekkies as well! Definitely pop in there again.

Cafe is consistent and has a solid standard cafe menu. They are slow which I think is due to physical limitations of the old station building. So if you turn up hungry order from the cabinet and ask for express.

I always order chicken livers with bacon, mushrooms and a wonderful cream sauce served on delicious bread. Always Delicious. Thank you

We love dining out and supporting our local Swanson Station Cafe. Always receive great customer service from Storm at the counter. I highly recommend the passionfruit smoothies made with a scoop of vanilla ice cream 😋 Everything we've ordered and eaten to date has been delicious, and we keep coming back for more. Love the outdoors dining on the deck, especially on warm sunny 🌞 weather, and it's doggy friendly 🐕

Its terrible lunch. My husband ordered eyefillet thats called steak(as the boss said they don't have steak, thats eyefillet) after that he was felling very sick and also had very bad diarrhea. I rang to back complaining the food was not fresh, but the boss never appolligize instead of the customer ate something else. How its bad service. Not recommended the cafe shop!

First time, normally go to Redwoods cafe a bit further along, I ordered a long black and scone and waited 30min. Busy time of the day and lots of meals being ordered. Will try again when not as busy.

Just a nice change to go out for something to eat the food I had was yummy, it's on the end of the western rail line...a nice trip to get there as well.

An institution in Swanson and, as the name implies, very convenient to public transport as the cafe is part of the train station. For me, the standout menu item is the big breakfast. Take time to read the info boards about the great work of the Swanson Station Trust in restoring the heritage station building.

What a great hot chocolate. They made it with profession and passion. It was deliciously tasty!....mhh yummy indeed.

The eggs benedict, banana white choc muffins, (iced) laté's are good here. The sides with the burgers come with non flavour Doritos, which is probably better left out completely or replaced with fries.

In the old station house so it's very charming. Yummy food and massive coffees, don't get a large if you're not prepared to drink out of a bowl! Lovely staff. Nice covered area to sit outside

Great coffee and good pies - staff was quick and friendly despite the place being a bit busy.
