😠 My wife and I have had children going to growing child for the past 12 years (since my daughter was born) the Horizon drive location is not terrible, they are nice and very helpful. This location is absolutely horrible. I recently took my youngest hear and the doctor was really distant and seemed to... My wife and I have had children going to growing child for the past 12 years (since my daughter was born) the Horizon drive location is not terrible, they are nice and very helpful. This location is absolutely horrible. I recently took my youngest hear and the doctor was really distant and seemed to not really care about my child. It was just a wellness check but he seemed like he was in a rush to leave. My child's weight, height and other things were not even discussed with me, but just written down on the paper. They gave him shots drew blood and said I could go. The results came in and they contacted my wife who tried to call back. When she finally got someone on the phone they transferred her to a voicemail box. She still has not received a call. I have called the office and the phone will just ring and ring until you decide to hang up. I eventually called for appointments and told them the situation, they said they would relay the message. After 12 years of being with growing child, this locations unresponsiveness and lack of professionalism and professional courtesy is causing my wife and I to look elsewhere for our pediatric needs.

If you love your child, avoid Growing Child Pediatrics. They are all about the big Duke Health "it's not my job" mentality when it comes to true patient care. Non-responsive to phone calls and emails. Took 4 weeks and several phone calls to get a simple referral put through on two different occasions. Their nurses' line says they return calls in 2 hours. They NEVER return calls. Any type of appointment is months out. This used to be a great family pediatrician's office. Now, you will be chewed up and forgotten about in the Duke Health machine. Duke Health is all about how much $ they can get from you. Patient care is not their priority.

Refused to see my child for their scheduled appointment because she has seasonal allergies. Why do you think I’m here? She has no COVID symptoms and has not been exposed and they turned her away but not me and my other child who live in the same household. Ridiculous. Seasonal allergies are not a symptom of COVID, and we are all wearing masks. This will be our last time coming here.

Hands down the best pediatrics office in The triangle Area! Friendly staff, super safe before Covid and even more safe during the COVID-19 Era. The Call center is extremely help and pleasant I’m proud to have my children come to Growing Child Pediatrics!

10 years ago I started taking my daughter to GCP because our family Dr left the practice we were going to. They were AMAZING up until Duke took over. I just had a baby back in Oct. 2018 and have been taking him since day one. Don't get me wrong I still love all the staff including providers at both brier creek and wake forest. I just recently came in with my oldest child and of course found out she had the crud going around and my newborn had developed a slight fever while there. Being that my baby had been messing with his ear all day and fussy my guess is fever was coming from that. His temperature was checked and it was .4 from being a "fever." I had mentioned the above to the provider, but got sent on our way when his ear only could've been checked for infection. I could've possibly avoided another visit or ED equaling more exposure to ALL the sickness going around. I understand the time slot issue allows for so many mins per patient, but my child was the last patient of the day and a peak in the ear takes 2 seconds. I guess money is more important after all...

My daughter has been sick for weeks now. Two ear infections and and a bad cough. This place, specifically Dr Wagner, only listened to my daughters lungs and then checked her ears. That was it. I told her that my daughter had a very bad cough and it wasn’t going away. She did not test her for anything. Just looked at her ears and that was it. Come to find out my daughter has the flu and she’s had it for awhile. This doctors office is so incompetent. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

If I could give Growing Child in Wake Forest less than 1 star, I would. My child has been going there since she was a baby. Her doctor was wonderful and made her feel cared for and safe. Now my "baby" is 17 years old and trans. A few days ago, I called Growing Child to get her in for a physical and possible referral for hormone therapy. At the very least, to talk about it. At first, it was all good and the appointment was set. On the morning of the appointment, a young man called saying that they had to cancel the appointment due to "insurance" issues. When I asked what he was talking about he said, "well, we haven't seen her since 2019 - after 3 years she's considered a NEW patient and we are not taking any new Medicaid patients". Let's see........... what could have possibly prevented my child from going to her pediatrician from 2019 to 2022...........hmmmmmmmmmm can you say 'COVID?????????? I was so upset. I started crying and begged them to reconsider. It's easier to win the Powerball Lotto than it is to find a doctor that accepts new Medicaid patients. The young man was heartless, didn't care, didn't want to know - then put his "supervisor" on the phone who just backed him up. Here I am crying and begging them, trying to reason and saying that she's been coming there since she was a baby, etc. No dice. I shudder to think it has anything to do with me telling them she was a trans-kid. I don't want to pull that card, but I'm angry, and scared. What's the point of having insurance if no one takes it? I'm waiting to hear from a very nice doctor's office in Louisburg that could care less that my kid is transgender. But, the doctor has to decide whether or not to accept her insurance. I'll just go back to my corner and pray. Growing Child broke my heart. So much for community. Thanks for reading.

HIPPA violations… while waiting for the doctor, I could hear multiple nurses very loudly talking about a 17yr old patient who came in with menstrual problems (they were saying specifics, but I won’t reiterate). They referred to her as “like 17 going on 37.” Disgusting to talk about a patient like that.

My experience with GCP became worse and worse all around. Especially at WF the past 2 years. I finally pulled my children out. They struggle to respond to messages or requests in person or on DukeMyChart and there is an "air" about the doctor's when you talk about your child's needs. It is as if they know what they know, and that's all that matters. At another location where Dr. Katz is located, we waited in a room for over 45 minutes while he spent time laughing with, and advising new parents on their baby, while my child's breathing was labored with a chronic cough. By the time he came in, he barely looked at my child and declared it to be Hand Foot, and Mouth disease within minutes because of a speck on one of their hands. He told me to give her ice cream. 2 days later we were in urgent care because it was pneumonia and their lungs were struggling and needed antibiotics immediately. Ice cream.

Incredible, empathetic, and intelligent care. Word can't describe how thankful I am to have chosen The Growing Child Pediatrics for my child's care. They are always reassuring and attentive to all issues. I had what I thought was a grand emergency (first time mom). I showed up at 8:30am without an appointment and in tears. The reception staff reassured me, and modified their schedule to see my child. They did not have to do this. I am so thankful for the empathy and care I received. Any other office would have likely turned me away to the ER in an attempt to not throw off their morning... The Doctors, Nurses, and receptionists are first class. EXCELLENT.

You suck and should be ashamed of yourself. My son has been going there his whole life. And because he hasn't been there in 2 yrs he gets kicked to the curb?? You are a piece of garbage.

I wish I could give this place less than one star. I've gone here since I was a baby and now that I am an adult and looking at my records there have been countless times where absolutely no documentation was made of my complaints of pain that have been going on since I was in middle school. This makes it increasingly difficult for me to pursue further care and diagnosis. The doctors there want you in and out quickly and you'll always get hit with the "well let's keep an eye on it and come back if it gets worse." no matter the situation. I was completely unable to move for three days and was still told this. I also am now in therapy for PTSD for things I experienced at this clinic as a child and likely will be for years to come. Other symptoms were also put off for years that turned out to be a heart condition I was very late to be diagnosed with. Do not recommend.

Please don't. Just don't take your child here. I'm sure the staff are amazing people outside of the practice, they're nice, but the level of care, professionalism, and communication is not up to par and affects the performance of the over all facility.

My 3 children had been seen by GC and "Fast Braiin: since 2014 when it was still run by Dr. Pool. Every since Duke transitioned in (before he retired); the practice and his legacy of Fast Braiin has been a terrible experience. Even his longtime associate's (on the Fast Braiin's side) demeanor went down hill, went from sweet, caring and attentive to down right ugly treatment. The practice is no longer a place to feel cared for and listend to as much it is more of a cash cow from what Dr. Pool created. His legacy is now tarnished by Duke Healthcare.

I have been a patient at GCP for a year now. I appreciate the effort they are taking to make sure patients are safe upon entering, checking temperatures and demanding face mask. Every experience with them has been very friendly, professional, and helpful. I would definitely recommend bringing your children here :)

Love this dentist! They are so nice and patient with my daughter. Honestly, when I first started talking her I didn't like the fact that they wanted me to stay in the lobby while they took her back. When they brought her back out she was so happy and showing off her clean teeth! I know that if I would have went back with her she would have been whining and trying to leave because momma was right beside her. This is what always happened with her previous dentist. I'm glad they are able to make her comfortable enough to go by herself and let her feel independent!

BELIEVE THE BAD COMMENTS! We recently moved to North Carolina and I needed a good pediatrician for my baby, I made the appointment and the day before they changed my office and doctor... When I got to the office the staff was very good and attentive but I don't say the same for the doctor Dierks, Kristin Patricia, everything was excellent at first, but when I told her that I didn't want to give my baby one of the vaccines, her change was drastic, she didn't even put the fluoride in my baby's teeth, I don't recommend the dentists, she forgot nothing completely of everything he told me at the beginning just for me to say that *I WAS NOT READY FOR THAT VACCINE* And very reluctantly he told me that if I didn't come back in a month to give my son the vaccine, the best thing would be for him to look for me another pediatrician... AND I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT I WILL LOOK FOR ANOTHER PEDIATRIAN.....
