Good equipment and personal trainers but the management is terrible. No communication. Got banned for leaving weights out (that was already out before I used it) turned up at 6am to not be able to get in. You need to have a consultation with a manager after 9am which I don’t have time for hence why I train at 6am. Quit the gym there and then and joined the next local one and havnt had a problem since

The positives... Easy parking Great rates Friendly staff Friendly clientele Hugh space 3 squat racks. The negatives.. As a gym goer of more than 25+ years I really do not like the machinery, I can't give you the brand names as there is nothing on them, even the bench press has me reaching the bar area at a dangerous spot to commence a first rep. There are many machines which I think for the inexperienced would see several injuries. It's for this reason sadly I will change gyms at the end of the 4 week period. 3.5 *(stars)

Really nice gym and well equipped. Doesn't get too busy during peak times. Parking is plenty and free. Only missing is the Yanga water machine like they have in London. Update from 02/11/19. They now have the Yanga water dispenser. And I have to say. Its worth the extra £4 monthly.

Cleaning standards are high, the equipment is actually really nice smooth and well maintained, better than Pure gyms (as there not smooth or well maintained). Wakefield based The Gym Group needs extending, they should take over the old Anytime fitness building in Wakefield as the unit space is much larger. There are not enough bench's of which are too close, the weights area is great again equipment too close, id have stayed if there was more space and equipment as it is a really good clean, friendly environment.

What can I say about Gym group wakefield, awesome brilliant class, great teachers, great Manager, I just love this gym, made some great friends, facilities hear are great for the price you pay, great Pt's always here to help members, to encourage them

Pretty good gym, its clean, weights arebusually put away and the staff andmembers are friendly. I'm not sure what the temperatures will be like in winter being an industrial unit, but good so far and its been nearly 30degrees out.

Really good gym. There is always a trainer on the gym floor looking out for anyone who needs help.

Used to love it here but not so much anymore. There are too many members for the size of the gym and the amount of kit. It doesn’t help members sat on their phones for long periods of time on machines or benches, putting their stuff or bottle of water on machines to save them for when they’re done on the machine they’re currently using. It seems to have turned into more of a gym people go to socialise than workout, you can’t get a full workout it as it’s too crowded and full of groups just stood around machines talking than actually using it. unless you want to do cardio or classes then it’s ok. The staff are always helpful and polite though. I guess it’s all about getting what you pay for, unfortunately I’d rather pay a bit more to be able to use a gym to workout than stand about waiting. Edit: Their response below is just for show, they’re not really that bothered about the feedback.

Good atmosphere, friendly staff, greats PTs, loads of equipment, classes and most of what you can expect of a good no frills gym. Excellent value for money 👍🏼 Also, the best gym manager you can have! Excellent equipment upgrade.

Nice colourful clean gym. Not too busy . Appears to be enough equipment for everyone and no que of people waiting to jump on after you done your reps. I tend to go later at night and avoid the rush hours when people start/finish work. The app is great. Price is great for a 24hr gym.

I love this gym with all the members and staff which are all so friendly and help me if I need the help on any machines or weights,the staff at Wakefield really do go out of their way to help even on nutrition,supplements couldn't ask for a more friendly service. Keep up the good work guys!!! 🙂

Got crowed quickly. Not the best equipment. Some different equipment would be useful.

Excellent gym with polite staff. No one judges you on how you look, all creeds, all genders, all sizes, everyone does their own thing, a comfortable place to work off the pounds.

Nice gym but the only issue is the parking, because the gym is near the hus station and trinity mall, there was no parking near by.

Great hygienic gym staff all helpful and friendly and everyone minds their own business and don’t get any creeps here, which as a woman is all you want!

Wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone serious about training the new jD gym Wakefield is opening soon !!! this gym has poor staff and no management skills if you have any issues. Other then that good luck to them...

I joined a few weeks ago and enjoy every minute. There are plenty of things to do, and very reasonably priced staff are very good, professional, and approachable. I'd recommend it to everyone

Whilst the members make the place, the constant breakdowns on kit isn't the best. The kit is in dire need of replacing and bringing inline with other gym group gyms in the area

Lots of equipment so manageable at peak periods. Price also good. Could do woth some shelves in the showers though but nothing major.

Brilliant gym. It has a great range of equipment and is always clean. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and you can literally ask them anything and they are happy to help! I have been having PT sessions with Abbie and she is genuinely amazing - she has made me feel so much more confident in the gym. Always a great workout experience!

I’ve been a member at The Gym Group Wakefield for around 18 months now. I have nothing bad to say about the gym at all! I absolutely love coming here and feeling comfortable when doing my workouts. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and always come and speak to you regardless of how busy they are. Staff are always on hand to help with any worries or queries and make it known how important their members are to them. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would! 🥰

Just had a midnight workout, the music they blast out is still terrible but the peace and quiet of no one being around was great. Just what you need in a 24 hour gym

Has everything you need from a gym but without the luxurious extras. Such as no hairdryers in the changing rooms and no paper towels to wipe down machines after use but for the monthly fee you pay and the fact that you are not tied on to a contract it's well worth it

Helpful staff, great atmosphere and great selection of machines and free weight equipment.

Good gym and friendly staff. Very large open space upstairs for classes etc. However does lack space downstairs where the weights is situated and the free weight section is often too busy to complete a session at a reasonable pace.

Really good gym not intimidating for learners or beginners, people are friendly, open 24 hours a day, should you want to use showers take flipflops the floor is always manky and people are walking from toilets with trainers on and from gym , after shower you don't want to walk with your feet on that floor. Showers are annoying! You have to push the button literally goes for two seconds then goes off so even in the shower your getting a work out😁, they've free water taps on site music and sir conditioning

Decent gym. Weights area is small can get a overcrowded between peak times.
