If
ever
a
place
did
'exactly
what
it
says
on
the
tin'
then
Nostalgic
Kitchen
at
The
Shepherds
Arms
is
it!
This
place
serves
proper
home
cooked,
hearty,
comfort
food
and
it
does
it
really
well.
I
had
the
chicken
tikka
bites
to
start.
The
chicken
was
generous
and
succulent,
whilst
the
tikka
sauce
tasted
as
good
as
any
served
in
a
curry
house.
I
then
had
the
lamb
and
mint
pie,
which
was
delicious.
The
pastry
was
great,
the
lamb
was
cooked
to
perfection
and
the
gravy
was
thick
and
tasty,
just
how
I
like
it.
A
generous
helping
of
veg
and
chunky
chips
too!
We
finished
off
with
a
brandy
snap
dessert
with
rum
and
raisin
ice
cream
to
share
(we
were
too
stuffed
to
have
one
each!)
and
yes,
that
was
tasty
too.
With
the
Eat
Out
to
Help
Out
discount,
all
of
this
for
two
people
came
to
a
measly
£18.25.
I
couldn't
believe
it!
Even
without
the
discount,
this
in
my
opinion
would
have
been
great
value
for
money.
The
staff
were
friendly
and
the
Chef
(owner?)
even
came
out
a
couple
of
times
to
make
sure
we
were
enjoying
our
meal.
We
will
definitely
be
returning!
