Food was average. Potatoes swam in butter and saw salt only from a distance. Soup was watery and had all the salt that the potatoes didn't get. Staff was friendly and nice though and there was cool playground for kids.

Being one of the restaurants recommended in the area, we decided to give it a try and have dinner here. However, the experience has been awful. First, we sat where there were about 7-10 flies going around us and our plates continuously (It seems that also the other tables were in the same situation). Furthermore, I found a worm in my salad. Rightfully so, I pointed out to one of the waiter/owner who apologized for that and asked if I wanted another one. I said no, yet at the end I was still charged for the salad that I barely touched. Never again….

I had an unpleasant experience at the restaurant. Was waiting at my table for 35 minutes until the waitress approached and asked what would I like to have. She served 5 other tables before she even came me - al those clients havr arrived after me. The restaurant was half empty. I find it rude and unacceptable. And I'm still waiting for my beer, it's veen 15min. Unbelievable.

Old rooms, no coffee/tea in room, very bad restaurant for dinner but OK for breakfast. I do not recommend this hotel.

Beautiful place with many thoughtful amenities and the most helpful staff you could hope for. As an American who speaks little German, I found this hotel to be super comfortable and very welcoming. Also, there's great access to hiking just up the hill from the hotel.

Just everyone working in the hotel is very friendly and helpful; beds are very comfortable; the restaurant - oh, we ate only once not here, just because we weren't at the hotel on time; for breakfast they have a good variety of cheese, yogurts (lactose-free) and cereals, coffee was also good. I'd like to be there now :-D

Very nice and relaxing atmosphere and a great place for kids to play while parents can enjoy some drinks. Food for adults as well as kids were excellent and the staff very friendly. Highly recommended.

Don't be put off by the photos of outdated decor - this hotel is far from tired or neglected in reality. Despite their obvious age, all furnishings and facilities are in as-new condition and function well (good shower water pressure, comfortable mattress, complete gym, fast wifi...). The entire staff was always personable, happy to help and very reliable. I was part of a big corporate group, but they have put a lot of thought into how to handle groups efficiently without losing the personal touch. Views and surroundings contribute significantly to the enjoyment of the Alpenrose - from the postcard views from every room to the idyllic swimming lake and trails directly behind the hotel. The lack of light pollution and resulting view of the stars make you feel much further away from everyday life than you'd expect from the mere 30 minute drive from the nearest train station. The conference facilities were first class - all roomy, bright and acoustically sealed. The snacks were healthier and lighter than in other venues around here. The breakout spaces, especially the outdoor ones, really set the Alpenrose apart.

If I could give this place 10 stars ⭐️ I would. We booked a stay here for our elopement and it was perfect. The staff went out of their way to answer questions and suggest local vendors, decorations for our room (didn’t ask for them but super cute). The location is like out of a fairytale, beautiful views, rooms are spacious and very comfortable and clean. The spa (wellness area) is coed so just be aware of that. The restaurant had fresh dishes made from local ingredients that were amazing. Close to several ski lifts, cute towns, and lots of alpine water falls. Stay away from the tourist traps and check this place out. You won’t be disappointed

Wish I could be more generous. But , I had many concerns about the quality of customer service and even more after getting a response from someone at management. First, it took 20 minutes once sitted to be attended ( counted 23 sitted customers with 4 waiters). Even if the waiter was super friendly ( David ) I can't overlook the service. Second, my wife wanted a packet of cigarettes, we didn't have coins or notes , I asked the tall guy at the bar, his response " that's not my problem". He could be right, but actually it is a problem not giving any option to buy cigarettes in their vending machine at service in the restaurant fir customers, because it is an element at disposal for customers. Thanks to David ,our waiter and after explaining the way to help me , it was solved. Third issue, after paying, I was leaving the table when one of the umbrellas in the terrace hit my head. I see how in seconds , two -three servers came to clear the table and not even one cared about my head( they didn't even look at my face, just cleaning the table). So to be honest, I poorly recommend this place to eat because of the service , the food? I enjoyed my wild burger , but there are other options close by. Really disappointed because I often came to this place in Winter but after today I prefer going with my family and friends somewhere else. I did get a response in done kind of excuse of the poor service, I even saw how someone invented the cigarettes issue when it was with me not my wife and of course, the umbrella issue... It's a complete joke saying they offered me a cooling pack. I didn't hear anything of that , maybe I wouldn't have a headache in that day all afternoon. ( Before even thinking of responding, inform yourselves better of what really happened) .

😐 Took my folks for a drive and thought I would take them out to lunch . View and facilities are beautiful . For older people access is terrible . Food was awful , not to mention outrageously priced . We ordered 3 times what was suppose to be Toggenburger Macaroni . Portions were small and again 25 Fr...
