Great little micropub. Wirral's first in fact. Excellent beers. When visited Holts Bitter, Ossett White Rat, Oakham Citra, Brimstage Scarecrow and Brimstage Oyster Catcher on. Well worth a visit

Evidently a source of great pride for the owner as everything here sparkles from the hand pulls to the floor tiles. As one would expect the cask beer I tried was superb. All cask £3.40 on my visit.

What a pub used to be. No keg, no alcopops, no music and no TV. Just 5 well kept real ales and friendly customers to sit with alongside the lazy landlord himself for some good ol' bantz.

A top notch micro pub that excels at so many things. Comfortable surroundings, great staff, friendly regulars and a great selection of rotating beers and ciders - even something for the wine lovers. Has weighed in heavily on the CAMRA awards scene, with an incredible haul for such a young pub. Whether you want a pint and chat or a bit of ‘me’ time with a tasty drink and a read, this place is fabulous.

Myself and my husband came here before going for a meal. We liked it that much that we returned after our meal! It is a lovely little place in a nice location and seems to have a range of ages in there. It was spotless and warm and welcoming and the staff and customers were lovely and friendly, we felt at home straight away! Even though it is relatively new , it feels kind of old fashioned and traditional. Actually really refreshing to go somewhere where there is no TV with sport on, music blasting or food being served! It is what it says...a pub and nice to see people actually chattering away being socially interactive in here! The beer was lovely even though we are not usually bitter drinkers! When we were there it was very cold and the fire was roaring away in the back part of the pub it was so nice! We will definitely return to this lovely little pub soon.

You can not get more traditional which is strange as it was a shop in a previous life. Awards winning pub that stays true to cask ale and not the fad 'craft keg' nonsense. I love it this gem
