Pub has had a good makeover and the staff are pleasant. Facebook friendly. Worth a look but pricey without the class and limits between taking drinks from pub and garden. The biggest draw back and reason for the low review is the Manger, an ignorant, brash, wannabe.

Great place for a drink, lovely little beer garden with a very clever sliding roof and wall to create an outside Heated room of required when the temperature starts to drop. Good selection of drinks and great service, will definitely be visiting again.

I've been there a couple of months now, not a bad place to meet your friends on a Sunday evening, but the only problem as every pub in Wallasey Village last orders 10.15 to 10.30 hope with summer coming things will change

Good choice of real ale. Pub has lost it's character due to changes made and introduction of gin garden which seems to take priority. Nothing changed.

Great beer and pub of historical interest. If on public transport it is right by a bus stop so really handy.Really top notch pint of Bolt On. Excellent service.

Very lucky to have the cheese as my local, always at least 3 real ales on plus a good selection of bottled British beers. Friendly licensee and staff make this the perfect place for a couple of pints - good beer garden and beer festivals as well. New licensee has improved beer choice and quality and is now selling a wide range of premium gins.

Attended a function in the Gin Garden recently and would highly recommend for any occasion. The gin garden has a roof and retractable perspex walls, so when it was raining we were all safely undercover with plenty of space inside but were able to open it all out again once the sun came out! The bar staff were brilliant and a great time was had by everyone

👍 This is one of the closest pubs to home but I haven't eaten here for years. Gave it a try on a sunny Tuesday evening and it was pretty good! The pub wasn't too busy but there were more people in than I expected on a Tuesday, creating a nice atmosphere. The staff were all super friendly and helpful....

👍👍 Had to downgrade our review unfortunately. Went back tonight for the steak night. The food was tasty but we were asked how we wanted the steaks cooked, we both asked for medium rare however I would say they were well done and quite dry. I could have complained but they were edible. If the chef can't...
