A great welcome from Pauline as we came in , asking for our first names which she addressed us by all through the service.. the restraunt has a lovely atmosphere, a homely feel to it..the menu is good with plenty of choice and also the same with the wine list. The food was excellent , the scallop starter in particular was delicious and the fillet mignon was cooked perfectly and tasted great..all in all we all enjoyed it very much and will be going back again soon. Thanks to Pauline and the team for a lovely night..

Quite simply the best restaurant I have been to on the Wirral. It is an absolute gem with brilliant food and fantastic service. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining expeience.

From the very beginning, we were treated with the upmost care and wonderful hospitality from our host Pauline. A family owned bistro, the attention detail from an interior design point of view, is nothing short of spectacular. A contemporary, art nouveau vibe made our visit such a treat for the eyes; the mood and music complemented each other married so well. Overall, an unpretentious and welcoming atmosphere. There to celebrate our anniversary, we knew we would be in for a treat with the menu due to previous reviews read; however, we were not prepared for exactly how blown away we were going to be! To start, we shared the pork scratching appetiser, which had the perfect texture and slight crunch, accompanied with a superb homemade siracha sauce. We then enjoyed mussels done two different ways as our starters, both the best mussels we’ve ever had. We decided to ‘splash out’ and treat ourselves for the main and both ordered the Surf & Turf. The fillet steaks were cooked to perfection, the knife glided through them like butter. The AMOUNT of food we received, despite it being (in our opinions) fine dining, was supreme in quality and brilliant value for money. Since it was our anniversary, Pauline kindly arranged a beautiful celebration plate, which made our experience so personal and shows how much love Pauline and chef Christopher put into their beautiful restaurant. Without doubt, the best dining experience we’ve ever had, the level of consistency, professionalism, care and quality – is priceless. And even in saying this, don’t think it’s overpriced and expensive – it's worth every penny. We will certainly be coming back again. A huge thank you to Pauline and Chris who made our night so special.

A real treat. The food has been fabulous every single time. Stunning execution and a genuinely interesting and beautiful dining experience. Pauline is a warm host, and the service has always been impeccable. The selection of beer and wine goes perfectly with each meal. We have taken family here as our place to impress. Fantastic.

First time dining at the Rockwood Bistro and this is a must go to when planning a night out. Celebrated my 21st there today and everything was top notch! The owners are very involved and loving of their business and their customers. Comedic and chilled vibe. Interior was a nice warm setting and exterior has a lovely fountain and smoke area. The food was very high quality and the presentation was perfect! I have no complaints about the food or the service and I HIGHLY recommend anyone to visit The Rockwood Bistro.

*Warning* Be prepared to experience a tantalizing Michelin fine dining and sensational gastronomic theatric experience. If you enjoy the best prepared beautifully presented dishes combined with exemplary service and wines and drinks, this is the only venue outside of London, this is the place to go! If I could give 6 stars I would. Everything about this place is incredible. The food is ridiculously delicious, atmosphere with the music and decor is superb, and the service is second to none. We were in the area for work, and were lucky enough to dine here a couple of nights. I'm very happy that we have to come back for more work as I can't wait to try more of their amazing food! Can't recommend enough!

First visit, return already booked. Came for lunch. The service from the moment we entered was faultless, Pauline is an amazing host. The decor and background music is fantastic. As for the food.....AA rosette worthy, with the closure of Fraiche easily the best on The Wirral.

We loved our dinner here. The decor if fabulous and the food was delicious and the service was amazing. We were only in New Brighton for a few days but we will go there again next time we are in England.

Just had an unexpectedly AMAZING lunch! We were in the area looking for somewhere to pop into for a bite to eat and the food and service was unreal. The whole place is decorated so nicely and the background music was on point. We can't wait to come back with friends/family.

We had a lovely leisurely lunch with our sister and brother in law, our first visit to the restaurant. Pauline looked after us really well and made us very welcome. We visited Rockwood on recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed from the minute we got there the service was excellent. Pauline took our coats was really friendly and gave us time to choose our food. I had beef and my partner had chicken it was the best meal we have had in a long while it was cooked to perfection and the flavours were wonderful. Really lovely meal and we will be back.

I booked a table here for my girlfriends 40th birthday. A very relaxing atmosphere and beautiful decor. The service was very good the waitress was well informed on the menu and the drinks to compliment the dishes. From the appetisers to the deserts the food was outstanding, a real culinary experience. My girlfriend was very happy! It was my first experience at Rockwood Bistro and it won't be my last.

After trying to get a table many times and failing, I was delighted to secure a table for 4. Pauline was most professional telling me all about how they like to look after their clients and having paid deposit I was really looking forward to it. The food was delicious and the service was spot on and a nice change from young waitresses on minimum wage who couldn't give a hoot. Rockwood Bistro is somewhere for that special occasion ŕather than a girls night out and I shall be definitely booking ahead to make sure of my table. 5 stars is very well deserved. From the 'secret' entrance to the skillful food; Rockwood sets a new standard for the North West gourmet seeker. Intense but still fresh flavours are rarely achieved but run through the menu. Our seafood choices were the best we have had in a long while. The most perfectly cooked lamb was enjoyed by a fellow dîner. Well done guys!

WOW! Just tried Rockwood Bistro for a 3 course lunch. The standard of food is far above any restaurant we've eaten at in the area and the portion sizes were perfect for us, Outstanding! What amazing restaurant so nice to fine a lovely dining place. Chiefs food was so excellent and a delight to eat. Paula is a lovely person, they make you feel so well come and relaxed.
