The room was very clean but the staff were the best thing about this hotel. The lady, upon check-in, was very friendly, and the staff serving the breakfast in the morning were really helpful and a credit to your hotel. I think one was called Stacey. Thanks! The breakfast is also very good and great value. We came to go to a festival at Future Yard which was very close to the hotel, in fact we could have watched it from our bedroom window.

Nice hotel, clean, the breakfast was good, everything was good but one thing. The car park. Its now open up to the public to use. As I was staying for 3 days, receptions suggested I pay for 3 days and then I can come and go. So when I come back from a late meal at 10.30, you can't park, even though I payed. I had to park 1/4 mile away and walk back through the dark streets at night in the rain. When I asked why, they said its open to the public now, anyone can park. Due to this I would never stay here again.

Clean and comfortable as expected. Great bed ,great shower. Had its own in house restaurant that provided excellent food from a well.varied menu One of the highlights during our three night stay was the staff. Very helpful and would stay and chat if they had the time. Very friendly and went out of their way to ensure our stay was the best it could be.Especially Stacy And Julie.

Stayed here for a couple of nights while exploring Liverpool. Much cheaper to stay this side of the river (half the price when I booked). It is a short walk to Hamilton Square station when you can get regular trains into Liverpool itself. The rooms and decor of the hotel are great and the staff are very friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others wanting to stay in the area.

The hotel is only a few minutes drive from the A41 and a five-minute walk from Hamilton Square railway station (1 stop to Liverpool) and so is very conveniently located. Most people nowadays have satnav's but for those drivers who do not I recommend checking the route to the hotel beforehand as it is upon a one-way system and very close to Mersey Tunnel toll booths from which there is no return!! The staff at the hotel are really, really friendly and helpful, but the car park has to be paid separately. Whilst the pricing is reasonable, this is a slight hassle. When I went to pay, the machine didn't like any of my credit cards! (Success eventually, after a few attempts!)

Staff were lovely and welcoming, the gentleman serving us was lovely and chatty. He was able to give us advice on where to go and asked us about our day out when we returned. Would happily come here again

Really clean room, very friendly staff, lovely breakfast with lots of vegetarian options, veggie sausage and veggie bacon. Porridge, granola, etc. The only down was that you cant open the window to get a bit of fresh air. I will use premier inn again.

Brilliant Premier Inn. Booked for a weekend away to Liverpool as it was significantly cheaper than others, so my expectations were quite low. However it was very pleasant. Really friendly staff, particularly Tom (?), great location, only 10 minutes away from the city centre by Merseyrail. We didn't eat there so can't comment on that. The room was very standard, clean, very quiet and perfectly comfortable. My only comment would be that it got quite hot in the room, the air con wasn't very effective and the windows didn't open. 100% would stay again.

A friendly welcome from the manager. Taxis are requested with the push of a button - my taxi arrived in 5 minutes. Good that they encourage recycling with the small sign on the desk, about putting recyclables beside the trash can (better would be to provide a small-size “blue bin”). The free WiFi (you can upgrade) is rather slow at times but adequate. Café/bar off lobby.

I just spent one night at this hotel as I had planned Mersey Ferry trip the following day. The location was spot on for the quayside which was a 10 minute walk away. The hotel has a car park and I was able to leave my vehicle until I returned from the river trip. Out of courtesy I asked permission to do this. The car parking charges are reasonable (I left my car for over 24 hours and it cost me £8. Breakfast was the signature Premier Inn buffet. This was adequate but not as appetising as it could have been. The scrambled eggs were just warm, as were the sausages. The staff were excellent. Very attentive and friendly. Would I stay there again? Yes. But I would consider breakfast at one of the nearby cafes.

Went for one night by myself for the football. Room itself is nice enough but the reason this hotel is getting 5 star was because of the staff. I went and ate by myself in the Thyme restaurant, and was made to feel like I was round a family home. Staci, Julie and Matt were all so lovely. I was mainly looked after by Staci who told me she was in training but you wouldn’t have known. What a great asset to the company, she went above and beyond to learn everyone’s name.. so we had the personal touch which was lovely! The food itself was tasty, but as usual I ordered too much! Thank you to those three staff members in particular who were all fab!

We had a great 2 night stay with breakfast. Staff were all lovely, hotel was clean & in good condition. Only minor issue was having no evening chef in Thyme restaurant both nights so very little choice on evening meals but there are various places to eat nearby.

5/5 solely for the staff. Stacy in particular would be an asset for any hospitality business; she was so friendly and engaging. Room was decent and food was good for the price. It's funny reading through the reviews and seeing 5+ different spellings of Stacy but I think that helps highlight how great she is at her job

I stayed on a visit a one visit here. An accessible room was booked, this was given however this was on top floor. Meal deal was booked however this was unavailable. The room had a very strange smell the only way to describe it was sewage and a brown stain on the floor. Breakfast, I was told full breakfast is back and self service. With staying in many premier inns this was not their full breakfast service.

Booked an accessible room and was fantastic, plenty of room for wheelchair and bathroom was more than equipped, rails everywhere. Only slight downside was bathroom door was a little heavy and Bed was a little low but didn't affect our stay at all and we would happily come back! Thank you to the friendly helpful staff too.

Myself and a work colleague had to stay here today! We arrived after hours of travelling at 1.15am. My card didn't work at the vending machine! I was about to go bed and the polite very hospitable receptionist offered me some cereal and milk etc! Too some means nothing.... but to us the smallest gesture completely changed a very long tiring journey. THANK YOU TOMMY 😊 But overall very nice hotel, clean, rooms are lovely! A really HIGH standard of hotel👏

Always a warm welcome at PI Birkenhead. My regular stay when visiting the area. All you’d expect from Premier Inn and always a warm welcome from the staff.

Yet again, amazing food (the pizza was outstanding)!! Service, and quality.. The staff are kind, considerate, and so attentive. Especially the lovely Stacey!! Always goes out of her way to make everyone feel comfy and welcome, even remembers everyone on a personal basis, no matter how much time's gone by.. Full respect!! Big love, Kie. <3 xxx

I chose Birkenhead as both my daughter's live in Bootle and Birkenhead. The service was excellent very helpful and supportive, nothing was too much trouble. The menu was compromised on first night as they had no lettuce, chef had to be creative making a prawn cocktail. Five stars for initiative. The last morning I was late , and did not have time for prepaid breakfast. I was offered a take out, great idea! Thank you for everything.

Great stay here working in Alderhey so off the beaten path but wasn’t disappointed office booked it late when I got there they moved heaven and earth to get me to a room . Room clean quiet and all you expect from a premier inn but not beaten up as usual with workers like myself I may add. Food very good x2 ate dinner 2 nights and breakfast 2 mornings bee y good hot well presented a bit of a disappointing service on Thurs eve something a miss and these things happen but don’t let that take it a way from my stay . Had a chat with Kieron Le Chef on Friday morning what a nice guy people facing well presented clean went out of his way as I was a tad early and have to say what a clean kitchen well done all !!!

Clean hotel. Id recommend it for anyone with a car passing through for one night. There is very little near the hotel otherwise that I would recommend.

I stayed here for 3 nights the other week. I've stayed before but not for that amount of time. And what can I say? The staff were absolutely excellent. From the breakfast people, to the evening people, I could not have asked for any more. Great characters! Room was cleaned daily on request and walking back in the evening they'd all greet you and say hello, have a chat with you and basically make you feel a bit less lonely! I travel across the North West from Leicestershire so stay at a lot of Premier Inns, but I'd say these staff are comfortably the best 👌

Budet hotel which, in my opinion, a lot better than many 4/5 star places that ive stayed in previously. Friendly, helpful service. Nothing was too much when we arrived back from our event, tired, hungry and desperate for a shower. Despite Premier Inn not providing room service , we ordered food in the restaurant and the young lady on reception helped my daughter with it to our room. The food was delicious and really hit the spot! I can also highly recommend the shower which was spotlessly clean , lovely and warming with fantastic water pressure. I would've given 5 stars if I hadn't found 2 areas that obviously hadn't been cleaned thoroughly or for a while, but don't let that put u off as I'm sure they were a 1 off. We will be returning !

Received an amazing , very warm welcome from Staci and Toni, so helpful and nothing was too much trouble, as were the rest of the staff. Hotel was nice, large selection of tasty, freshly cooked, reasonably priced food with meal deals available. Would certainly recommend this hotel

Great location, friendly staff, welcoming. Rooms basic, roof peeling in places, bathroom shower area could do with a deeper clean however for a budget hotel for one night stay it was fine. TV and air con in room, WiFi signal wasn't the best. Bed comfy as well, would stay again more for leisure though not for work as with the poor WiFi was difficult to complete meetings. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel were very tasty as well.

I stay at this hotel regularly. Staff are excellent! Very frustrating now you're forced to self check in as it takes twice as long and the free WiFi is worse than dial up, can barely listen to a podcast. Guess it's all too force you to pay more, I'm skeptical about paying for WiFi though, don't trust it too be much better than the free and the charge is too high. At least the hotel isn't the typical Premier Inn Faraday cage so you can at least still get a strong enough signal to use data.

Great stay, nice breakfast. The hotel is in a good spot if you don't fancy staying in the city. Stacey was particularly helpful and friendly.

Had a hand towel which was torn and a TV which I couldn't turn off (remote button broken; had to turn off at the mains (sounds simple, but the mains is buried under the wall mounting)). Need to sort the basics (noting cost: well over £100, per night) But the staff were fantastic, so adding a star or two for that

I initially reserved a family room but was initially provided a double room. After contacting the hotel, they corrected this to a family room. Upon arrival, I found the room differed from the website's depiction, as an additional single bed had been added, which made the space feel cramped. This was somewhat inconvenient for my family. Additionally, I was taken aback by the manager's assertion that the hotel does not offer a microwave for guest use, which contradicted information from a kitchen staff member who mentioned a microwave was available pending the manager's approval. This inconsistency was quite disappointing.

Spent 2 nights here last week with my two teenage daughters as we were attending an event at the Albert Dock over the Mersey. After looking at hotels in Liverpool and being quoted near on £300 for a 2 night stay, I decided that we would stay here due to it's location and the price.... around £150 cheaper. The hotel is in the centre of Birkenhead and next to one of the Mersey tunnel entrances. It has a large car park with number plate recognition which you pay for at the end of your stay. There's a machine by the entrance to the hotel and I paid £8 for 48hrs. When we arrived on the Friday evening we were greeted by the delightful Stacey. She really is an asset to Premier Inn. Nothing was too much trouble and she made us feel like old friends. Our room was clean and tidy. Flat screen tv with freeview and nice comfy, clean beds. There really isn't much option for eating out in Birkenhead so we ate in the hotel restaurant. Food was well cooked and reasonably priced. All in all, a good hotel in a great location. If you want to pop over to Liverpool and don't want to use the car, the hotel is within a 15 minute walk from the ferry terminal and Hamilton Square train station and both are very cheap! Only criticism would be that apart from the bar and reception areas, the stairs and corridors to bedrooms are a bit on the chilly side and can I recommend that you prop the bathroom door open a bit as there's no heating in the bathrooms and that's a shock to the system when using the loo at 3am!🤣

After spending many many nights in Premier Inn’s for work this had to be the best due to the staff. Stacey and Matt are absolutely exceptional and have made the stay so welcoming. They remember every person who is staying and are just amazing. Well done to Stacey and Matt I hope you are recognised for your service and wish everyone thought out the premier inn family were this way.

The family room to small should be described as a single room with 4 beds. Quite annoying that towels not replaced every day and room not properly cleaned.we got moved as the bed was faulty they new but didn't fix it. They just put families in that room again. That was room 205.. breakfast was very slow to get as staff were just not ready for half term and were just standing arround. The continental breakfast was good but also slow. On the plus side staff were kind and honest and the location was easy to get to liver pool central. Only 5 mins walk to one out of the 2 train station. The shower in the room was great and very powerfull. I would give more birthday the hassle of our beds just made it annoying and stressful.overall a good holiday but a let down on the room size and bed

Rooms were clean, comfortable and nice. Windows didn't open though. Upon arrival staff let us stand around at check-in desk while walking past us and ignoring us, but later apologised. Location was great and the shower was amazing. Feel well rested after my stay!

Friendly staff on arrival but the parking at the hotel was an unpleasant surprise. Not enough spaces and £3 per day for your stay. Reported the bed creaking badly after a poor night's sleep, given a complimentary breakfast. Assured it would be fixed, came back late at night and still noisy. Complained in the morning and another free breakfast. Only stayed two nights luckily so back to our own comfortable bed. The hotel didn't look scruffy but it will soon need a bit of updating. The shower was so powerful it sprayed water onto the floor - due to the shower screen not being long enough. Clean and tidy room, with a tv and kettle etc - nothing much else you need for a couple of nights. This was an unusual experience for me at Premier Inn, usually so good and a great night's sleep. If the staff hadn't been so nice I'd have been really unhappy and taken it further. Put it down to an isolated experience.... Premier Inn, you have one last chance next time I need to stay at one of your locations.

Stay here as close to family but first time of using car park since charges came in I wanted to be back and forth more due to my Husband having a stroke and needing to really be able to come in and out of the car park to drop him off for a rest and then return to my Daughter s ad it was my Granddaughters birthday. So this morning I paid 4.00 having parked up at 9 ish last night left at 8 this morning to take Granddaughter to school back at 9.00 for breakfasts and left at 10 to be charged another 2. 00. Rooms not cleaned unless you ask not really an issue for a 2 night stay but toilet bit smelly and damp towels not the best. Ceiling covered in flood marks and bit of ceiling paint dropped on my pillow last night. Staff lovely.

I used to stay at Premier Inn on our day trips with my family. My son loves sleeping there. The dinner we had at the restaurant was delicious, best food we've ever had in the chain. Highly recommended.

Lovely hotel, nice, friendly staff, comfort quiet rooms with everything you need. Limited chargeable parking, but we had no problems getting a space in the week. Ten minutes walk to the bus station, or if driving it's right next to the Mersey Tunnel.

  • 3/5 Jennifer W. 1 year ago on Google
We arrived and it was a slow process to check in. The hotel is in a run down area but handy for the tunnel to Liverpool. Our 'family' room was a double with an extra bed crammed in but comfortable. The pillows didn't smell clean. The air con was too noisy to have on at night and the room was like an oven at 3am, a great night's sleep it wasn't! The chap at breakfast was amazing and couldn't fault it. No parking and extra unexpected charge for wi-fi.

This was a lovely hotel. Positioned within walking distance of 2 train stations, bus routes and a good road network. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly and approachable and overall the beds were comfortable Price for premier inn was slightly higher than normal due to West Ham playing Liverpool and every hotel had increased prices in reflection.

Once you have found the way in brilliant. More than freindly staff. On site restaurant although a small menu the food was cooked to perfection and was delivered hot. Room was clean and comfortable. Buffett breakfast hot and plenty of it.

Hotel is fine, although it can be tricky to find your way through the one way system and not end up in the Birkenhead tunnel

  • 3/5 Christopher K. 1 year ago on Google
Pros: - Very quiet room (was end of corridor top floor, so could be luck but still a plus!). - Front desk staff lovely, welcoming, friendly. - Room amenities / layout / comfort on par for a Premier Inn. Cons: - Lots of minor wear and tear (I'm not the type of guy that goes to an older hotel and then slags it for being "dated"). By this I mean basic maintenance (e.g. kickboards in lift are missing on one side, damage about the corridors and room, etc.). - breakfast not great. Greasy, lower selection than advertised, poor coffee. - biggest one for me - if breakfast is advertised as 0630, please get it out for then. The single quite surly chef slowly adding piles of greasy food to the hot plate over the course of 20 minutes (how long it took to get the reduced number of hot items on view) did not make for a particularly appealing breakfast! Not a bad stay, a few own goals that are easily rectified easily to really improve the experience.

Stacie made my stay after only one night. She is the jewel in the crown. Nothing is too much trouble and always delivered with a smile and a good laugh. She should be the new face of Premier Inn

Decent clean hotel, ideally located close to ferry & train across the Mersey to Liverpool, breakfast & service is OK if a little sparse at times. Friendly staff & comfortable rooms.

  • 5/5 Sarah C. 1 year ago on Google
Stayed here regularly for work a few years back and couldn’t fault the customer service, food or rooms. Still stay here occasionally for nights out in Liverpool - cheaper than town centre and there’s handy parking - easier to just get the train over. Great hotel, does the job wonderfully (and Hypnos beds are all they’re cracked up to be 😴😴😴)
