Now a hostel for "asylum seekers". Went there on a job was told I get lunch out of the canteen and was then asked to leave the canteen and return when those staying there had finished their food as they didn't want a white man near them and had complained to security about me being there. The place will need a complete refurbishment if it is ever to resume as a hotel as it is now a squalid environment.

We spent 2 nights there last weekend. Lovely hotel and helpful staff. The breakfast was good but very busy - worth going when it's quieter if you're able. Don't forget your swimming gear as there is a wonderful pool too. We were impressed with the large retail park which has opened directly opposite and visited some of the restaurants and coffee bars during our stay. We will be back!

It is a nice hotel and is very close to the airport, but for the price charged per night, it isn't great value for money. The rooms, although clean and well decorated, have a few problems. They aren't very well insulated against sounds from adjoining rooms, the air-conditioning was not working during my stay, the wardrobe had no hangers. Minor details I know, but it would put me off from staying again. The staff, however were very good and the breakfast was excellent.

Air conditioning was broken on a day when I stayed a night, hottest day. A tiny fan was provided but was really not helpful Rooms were clean, fully stocked

Only 3 stars as on our stay there was some kind of alarm beep constant making sleep difficult for our early rise for the flight apart from that a great hotel

Well dated hotel rooms. Lovely sized however. Bar and kitchen staff lacking experience and drive. 2 hours to get food after ordering and getting beer was a nightmare. Computerized table service simply did not work. Bar staff at the bar could have easily delt with over the bar orders.

The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly, however, its 28°C in the room. As its a listed building it can't have air conditioning according to the manager. Were here for a hospital appointment in Alderhey and thought this would be a nice treat for my daughters. Will have to consider moving tomorrow or just go home. Very disappointed. Nice place in the winter.

Great hotel, service, quality and comfortable bed. Only one small issue, no shuttle bus service to the airport.
