This is the best South Indian ( Tamil ) restaurant in the USA. The Vada are actually some of the best I have ever had anywhere including India. The Cutta Paratha is awesome and the gravy is exceptional. All the food is delicious. The staff are typically for Tamil culture kind and caring. Pricing is fair for the quality of food. The restaurant is a bit small so for a large party you may want to call ahead. It is easy to access for the elderly and physically challenged. FIVE STARS is not enough for this restaurant. Jaya's kitchen truly is an authentic south Indian experience. If you liked this review hit the like button.

Best restaurant in town. Best food and great staff. Sometime we even visit in the evening to just have filter coffee and Idli/Vada and chill here. Feels like you’re in India 😍 South Indian, special chicken biryani, EVERY SINGLE thing is finger-linking good.

Glad to have this new South Indian restaurant in the neighborhood. The food was very tasty and appropriate potion size. The dishes were flavorful and will definitely make us visit this place multiple times

Love it! If you want really good authentic Indian food, this is the place to go! Not too flashy of a place but you should definitely give it a go! The service and food is what matters, and this place gives you both at a high level!

If I could give 10/5 stars, I would. By far the best Indian food I’ve had in the US. Consistently top-notch meals. Reasonable prices. We love it here! Get the Achari Chicken and you won’t be disappointed!!

Waitress was really friendly and she helped explain a lot of the menu items when we asked! The food was superb!!! I think the portions were very fair for the price and my wife and I left the restaurant feeling happy. I got to say the Peshawari Parata hit the spot... sweet, soft and helped balance the spice.

Small place and overall the food is good and tasty. Mutton salna - probably the bad among all. Too much coconut and salty. Rest everything were actually good. Especially the parota was soft and fresh. Just don’t order the mutton salna. Talapakati goat Briyani was also very god. Overall we liked and good place to take out and very casual. also don’t forget to try the Nannari sarbath and it was amazing.

Late service and less quantity. Once a customer had a compliant reported it, the one received a very rude response from the Owner. I never seen such a rude responses from any other Indian restaurents around in and around RI. I shared my experience with my friends and most of them had a same kind of worst experience.

Pros: Great takeout. Wonderfully spiced Indian food. Solid service. Fresh baked breads. Cons: Eat in decore looks a bit iffy. 'Mild spice' will probably still be too spicy for some folks. This place is a win. 5 stars despite the cons, food is goooood!

One of the best thing I found what I loved most was chikoo milkshake. It tasted good I will it as 4 out of 5. Overall I would say food was good I wanted to rate 3.5 out of 5, we ordered Dosa for the main entree and masala idle and veg Manchurian for the appetizer. It was a nice experience, servers were very hard working and very nice.

Food is good in taste but quantity is nit enough for 2 people, especially appetizers. However, service is very slow, and during peak hours, the wait time between placing the order and receiving the food is horrendous. Between a slew of take out and dine in orders, they need more staff in the kitchen and more serving staff as well. Current staff is courteous and seating is limited. Best time to visit is afternoons / early evenings on weekdays to avoid waiting. Also, place your entire order in one go.

Jaya’s is by far the best Indian restaurant in Providence/East Providence. It’s South Indian which is different than the majority of (North) Indian restaurants. They do offer some North Indian dishes, which are good. If it’s your first time, I recommend trying some of their South Indian dishes because they are out of this world. They can be very spicy! Some of my favorites are Chicken Ghee Roast, special Hyderabadi chicken biryani, gongura chicken, kothu parota and chicken 65. The dosas are great. The veechu parota bread is also phenomenal with their curries. I really hope they stay in business because I adore Indian food and there’s sadly no restaurants nearby that come close to the taste and quality of Jaya’s.

The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming and the food was great. Tikka Masla, Samosa, Vindaloo, Chole bhature was all delicious, five stars. They were very considerate of the fact that I had small children so the food was not too spicy. Even when we left we could smell the food outside. I will definitely be going back.

One of the best places to eat Indian food in the area. The chef/owner is from Kerala so you can try some authentic south Indian recipes. A little longer than expected but it was worth the wait. Must try!

So nice to have a good Indian restaurant in Wallingford again. Had been eager to eat here for a few weeks. Really delicious and beautifully prepared food at a reasonable price. My wife and I split two vegetarian dishes - both very good. The food coming out of the kitchen all looked great. The dossas were a real show stopper. Looking forward to returning to try them.

Perhaps the best South Indian food the family and I ever had! Qualifies as soul food to me. I had the Chicken Korma, and the family had the Special Chicken Biryani, Salmon Curry and Malabar Chicken Curry. Fish and chicken were so tender and fresh, and they were very considerate of the various heat levels everyone at the table preferred. Will be returning again whenever we’re in town!

The food was amazing. Tastes are real close to food tastes in India. The ambience of the place is mild and okay. All that steels your heart is their delicious food. The service by the guy present was excellent. They keep hygiene as a priority and wear masks as a mark. The food presentation was great.

We had dinner there this evening! Wonderful meal!!! We all enjoyed every bite. We had the Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani, the Goat Vindaloo and the Malabar Chicken Currie. We also shared a wonderfully spicy Chicken Ghee Roast and a stuffed dosa (with cheese and veggies) as appetizers. Amazing! Three yummy meals to also eat at home as well as well (leftovers). Can’t wait to go back!!! Loved the South Indian flavors.

A South Indian restaurant in the area - much needed. :) The food was delicious - authentic flavors and spices. You can choose the spice levels. The dosas as crisp and tasty. The sambar is flavorful and rich. The biryani was very good as well. Service is good. Food arrives promptly and fresh. The restaurant is very clean and well-maintained. Prices are reasonable. Portion sizes good. The location is easy to find- well lit. There is plenty of parking and you can order takeout. Stop by, enjoy some truly delicious and genuine Indian food with gracious service. :)

Just recently opened in Wallingford. A really nice Indian restaurant. They had the classics, and some new interesting dishes I have never had. I am looking forward to going back for my Indian food fix, and trying some more new dishes. The only thing they did not have is Nan. They had other flatbread options though so no worries.

The honest opinion should welcome always. I have heard from many of my Tamil friends that the quality is gradually decreasing as the restaurant is already have a less quantity policy for a big price items. "One such example for the quality is that a veg. food had a meat piece mixure in it and reported few times as restaurent is well- aware of this issue. If will taken serious measures can prevent the health official realted issues. Be strong and grow well.

The food was very nice. We tried all vegetarian dishes. And I must compliment them as apart from this place, wherever else I tried pooris it was drenched in oil but here it was skillfully fried with not a single drop extra. The food came in sufficient quantity and people were very courteous.

This place is incredibly authentic and absolutely delicious. Some of the best Indian food in town, would highly recommend!

Food was okay. 3 stars because I think service was not that good only one person doing everything so have to wait a lot. No proper dress code. Will visit again and see if anything improved and I will change rating.
