Went for a birthday meal, 8 adults. We booked for 6pm and still we were the only ones in the restaurant. No-one greeted us and the dining room looked closed, we had to awkwardly wait until someone noticed us to be told where to go. After ordering, they completely forgot one of the meals. There was no excuse, as we were literally the only table there, and we had to leave to go somewhere else, as the wait for the missing meal would have taken too long. Genuinely frustrated at how this was dealt with, especially as the missing meal was the one for the birthday person. Will not go back. Also the cashless bar isn't advertised anywhere, and there was just an A4 sign on the bar stating this. Wouldn't have bothered coming if that was known ahead of time.

I think this has got to be the best golf club for facilities in the country. Lovely clubhouse, golf course, exeptional driving range, never seen before short game area and to top it off, a brilliant got to see theme crazy golf area. A must visit and see.

Run out of mash my grandson only eats mash and so does a lot of other people. Only alternative was roast potatoes. The rest of the meal was cold, we didn't make a fuss because it was my husbands birthday. Me and my daughter eat here quite a lot with guests. We will think again

Have been a regular for Sunday carvery here and I don't have many complaints about the food but the carver is lacking basic hygiene. Have noticed on several occasions using same knife for all meats and I have allergies to Turkey had to request a clean knife by which time I imagine the cross contamination levels are well beyond reason. Handling all different food with same pair of gloves on and generally looks dirty.

Stayed here for 2 weeks housekeeping standards are shocking never any fresh towels supplied and days where our room was not even done . Fire alarm was going off for 2 hours and no one come to check . We phoned the emergency number given and he said he dose not know how to turn it off . So from 1.49 am till 3.50am we had the alarm non stop going . Complained next day all we got was a sorry . Totally unprofessional and not up to standards. So meny regulation have been broken which we will be reporting and showing evidence of .

First time at the carvery service could be better ordered some drinks half way through eating our food still no drinks had arrived had to ask someone else saw other people getting served before us eventhough they had arrived after us so the service needs sorting out as I see other reviews are saying the same as us but nothing seems to get done about it very disappointing as the restaurant and the grounds are lovely to look at

Took my family for Sunday dinner a few weeks ago after hearing some great reviews about it ,have to say it was very disappointing my grandson was served undercooked turkey. The chef decided the rest of the turkey need to go back in oven after for 10 mins (I assume to be microwaved) rest of family were ok but my grandson had food poisoning. Basic food hygiene not followed, I can't understand why would they serve undercooked food to a customer. Disengaged staf and one of kitchen staff was heard mumbling this is what happens when we open till 5 o'clock. I won't be going back

We visited the Lakeside restaurant as a group of 7. All meals came out hot, as ordered and very tasty. Staff were friendly and professional. View of the course and lake is an added bonus. Worth a visit...I know we will be going back.

Went there today for Sunday lunch / birthday celebration. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, and the food was very good. Very pleasant setting, no complaints whatsoever.

Been several times and venue & food always good & fair priced . Service can be a little lax when busy . Server polite but could have asked if we needed drinks through our time dinning rather than just at the start . NB, They do not like to take cash payment now & awkward to do so . *This is not advised at any point prior to you going to pay or when booking . Plenty of free parking

Afternoon tea, over priced!!! There was a large group of ladies, we had to share a plate tier of food between 3 of us which wouldn't have been a problem if there had been enough for three! Not being greedy, but I had 3 finger sandwiches because I don't like coronation chicken that came in pastry the size of a 10p piece! the others had 2 sandwiches and pastries, good choice of sandwiches but out of the few we had only 1 of them was chicken, pity if 2 of us wanted them! Scones came with cream and jam already on, my friend doesn't like jam so had to scrape it off. Other cakes were no more than bite size. VERY disappointed

Great driving range.Even has a computer simulator showing you how you’re performing. However, they no longer have drivers available for hire only 6 and 7 irons :/ Staff were very friendly and the place as a whole is very nice, would definitely recommend.

Very impressive. A multi-functional space. I attended a funeral wake here. There are many suites for conferences and events, and the golf course looked immaculate. There is also a Jurrasic Park themed mini- golf, which looked fantastic.

We have been a regulars at the golf club for over12 years & enjoyed the food , booked to go on the 23 jan had chicken burger, the butter fly chicken was rock hard cut the bits of that where eatable & left the rest I won’t be going back again. Came home & thinking about it. I should have sent the food back. I can cook chicken much better than that,

Fantastic venue for a event great location fantastic staff would recommend hight a great experience and will return again

Honestly one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a restaurant. Despite being the only table in the venue, the waiters showed absolute lack of interest in my allergy concerns and then failed to complete a simple order - one of our party failed to receive any food at all. This was supposed to be a special event for us but this restaurant lacks even the basics of hospitality. I will not be returning and I encourage literally everyone else to avoid this place.

Nedd to be on the fairways as the rough is unplayable. Also there is no sand in the bunkers just dirt & stones, doesn't do your club much good. Excellent services and food well worth the money.

On arrival the place looks fantastic, plenty of practise areas so I was hopeful the course would match. Unfortunately it didn’t. There is NO sand in the bunkers and despite everywhere else in England having fast greens due to the weather, these greens were incredibly slow, and yet your approach shots bounced off the green and off the back. The Marshall was very unwelcoming, the very first thing he said to me was that I had to wear my cap forwards as they are a fancy golf club and not a municipal, which is ironic considering it was in worse condition than any municipal I’ve played. funny how the pga tour pros can wear their hats backwards whenever they like… it was 27 degrees and I was trying not to burn my neck. Has the potential to be a great course with the facilities they have but unless there are major changes I won’t be coming back. The Marshall needs speaking to about his attitude

Booked on yesterday 8/9/23 for round of gold and paid £20 played along with 2 others. Well where do I start the course is in very poor condition grassing cutting just left all over the fairways and in the semi rough, the greens as the worse I’ve seen in a long time with holes as big as a volcano mouths, the greens had not been rolled after being spiked they where so ineven (more like a mountain range). The green were however dressed which is normal. There was grass cutting left on fairways and semi rough which made very difficult to find your ball. The bunkers were hard and full of big stones, there was also grass growing in some of the bunkers. Also people playing golf with no golf shoes but slip on moccasins. For anyone who paying a membership for this course need to rethink there subscription. as I certainly won’t be returning to this course I would rather play the local council owned golf course which are in better condition and cheaper.

Review written for the golf range and short game practice area. All in very good condition and obvious that a lot of money has been spent on the facilities. I have not been in the hotel.

Attended a wedding reception here last night .went to buy drinks at the bar and when presented with them i was told i couldnt pay for them with cash !! They are a cashless bar i was told. What a ridiculous way to run a business, if it hadnt of been for the groom paying for our drinks on his card all night we would of been back in the taxi going home ! PATHETIC.

Very disappointed with the Xmas meal, service was very slow between courses, I can only describe the main course as something you would expect in a works canteen, a real shame as last year was faultless, will reconsider having our Xmas celebrations here next year

Dreadful, one of the worst meals I have ever had, Cheap ingredients, frozen haddock, cheese that would of bounced across the room, sent back no Replacement offered, staff with coats on ushering us out at 10pm. Ruined a special occasion

Found this place by chance when looking for somewhere in between family locations. Wow what a hidden gem, outstanding carvery, attentive staff with a relaxed atmosphere for a get together, wasn't felt rushed to move after eating either. Will be back again 😋🤗 xx

Had a Sunday carvery, it was absolutely delicious and will certainly be returning especially when it is only £12.95 per adult, also the staff are excellent and very pleasant surroundings.

Myself and my family have visited here frequently, whether it be for just a casual meal family gathering or wedding event, or even just a short relaxing break, we have found this to be an incredible place. The service by all staff in various departments is attentive and we are made to feel really welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The golf course is beautiful to play a few rounds on. I think it is definitely worth the money and i would recommend to anyone.

Had a twin cabin for the evening. Digital tv doesn’t have enough signal to watch anything at all, and no Wi-Fi in sight. Popped to the “restaurant” for dinner and ordered a burger. 45 minutes later I asked if it would be long (it was very quiet) and was told that the kitchen was closed. Pointed out that if ordered and paid for a burger quite some time ago and the chef came out to check the receipt. Said “Oh” and wandered off. Presumably to cook my dinner but nothing has appeared yet so I’m not holding out too much hope. EDIT: It turned up. It wasn’t worth the wait. The waiter told me that there were “a few extra chips on there for you” to make up for the delay. He was quite right to look at me and make that assumption, but - on this occasion - I’d rather have gone hungry. Oh well, back to the room to not watch tv

We attended a funeral wake and the service and facilities were excellent. The drinks and buffet were excellent and the surroundings were very nice overlooking the golf course. Plenty of parking, including disabled facilities.

We had afternoon tea for my mothers birthday. We had a lovely time as we sat in the conservatory lots to choose from and they considered my dietary requirements which was given on a separate plate. We were even given pretty boxes to take our left overs home and there was a lot. The gentleman that served us (apologies I didn't catch his name) helped with a fishing query as they have an impressive lake. I would have given the experience 5 stars but there was a funeral and another function which I was fully briefed about but we all shared the same bar. Even though this was very a busy time for them they were amazing. I'm so impressed that I would recommend to anyone and planning to do this again soon. Thanks to all.

Lovely venue for a Sunday carvery. Ample parking. The carvery was well worth the money. Good portion of meats, and a wide range of well cooked vegetables. The gravy topped it off nicely! Will definitely go again soon!!

Went for a 3 course meal for mothers day , good selection for starters only 2 of the starters unavailable, great food for main carvery but extremely poor for deserts 4 out of 5 not available. However thanks to the manager Lisa she sorted out some other deserts complimentary and refunded the desert part from the bill , but also didn't charge us for the drinks we had, and this is why a 3 star was given (Lisa saves the day) otherwise it would have been a 1 star rating as we only booked for a special mother's day and we were very disappointed.

Good morning, Last night I was a guest at a wedding reception, lovely venue, but the staff let it down somewhat, firstly I had a lemonade from the bar, they didn’t put ice or slice in it, or even ask if you wanted it? I had to ask for it, no lemon so had lime. Then the buffet, which was lovely by the way,but the server left the hatch to leave just 1 more girl to plate up the food for staff, now if your going to do this make sure it’s done before or after serving, not when there’s only 2 of you serving anyway & you just plate up & go. Then the third thing, which is to me as a guest really not on. The DJ, playing music we all danced then played some random song, for everyone to leave the dance floor, as I was going to the ladies, I said (across the dance floor) everyone gone now, he then took it upon himself to say through the microphone, don’t shout across the floor it’s request’s from the bride, when I came out of the ladies, he was actually waiting for me, he said here’s the list of requests the bride wants, I said ok,but don’t ever humiliate me like that again, his response, well you did to me, I then did reply on calling him a knob. But let’s face it, he’s got a job to do I’m a guest & how dare he think he can take it upon himself to speak to a guest like that. He has to take the criticism with the job. Just a shame I had to experience such a lovely evening. @rudedj
