This is a very nice old and quirky Hotel although some parts of it are quite dated including the rooms. The bed was extremely comfortable however, and we slept very well. The radiator in the hallway adjacent to our bedroom was stuck on full blast and could not be turned off. The heat even managed to pass through the wall into our bedroom making it rather warm and uncomfortable. The breakfast was good, full English and variations of it but the choice of cereal was limited. All staff warm and friendly. Bed and breakfast for 2 for 1 night was £55, absolute bargain. Lots of history around the building and bar worth reading about. Would recommend for a nights stop over.

Excellent hotel. From arrival all staff were welcoming and helpful. Room had everything you need. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order, no buffet style but you are kept informed. It was worth the short wait. Ate fish & chips in the bar restaurant it was excellent and accompanied by some quality pints of real ale from the well stocked bar. Car park is a bit small but this is a traditional hotel in a town and there's plenty of nearby car parks if needed.

A good find. Parking on site. Very fresh tasty fish n chips from menu. Good bar. Bit olde worldly Inn/quirky, bedroom bit old fashioned but comfy & fresh white linen, welcoming. Very pleasant staff in bar & in light area dining room. Lovely & generous cooked breakfast. Super waiting staff. Note, ask for lower floor if you have luggage or disability.

Id consider this a hidden gem. Stayed here overnight in May as was working in Bham the next day. Old fashioned homely pub. Felt seriously chilled and at home as soon as I walked in. Food was INCREDIBLE. No joke. Room was old and a bit outdated but I think it just added to the charm and for the price I was never looking for "posh". The people drinking in there even talk and say hello to strangers. Some sort of witchcraft. Hope I never have to be i Walsall again because the area is a bit iffy but 10000% would stay here again. Honestly loved it.

My stay at the Lyndon House Hotel was good and comfortable. This is an old historical property, with a nice bar area and a good conservatory. The room was fine for this historical building, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The conservatory doubles up as breakfast area, (nice, large and light area). The property also has a lovely outside garden area, which would be nice in the summer months. Staff very friendly and a good breakfast was served on both mornings. (Would book again, just for the character)

The rooms are very old, and the bathroom is a disaster. Not so much water on the shower make almost impossible take a shower. The breakfast is good and the bar is very nice. Some people from the staff have no skills to attend guests. I will not repeat.

Giving this a location of 3 not because of its proximity to services like the train or bus station but because the noise from the main road was extreme at times. I'm used to living on a main road so the noise was not too bothersome for me however if you are not used to it you may want to ask for a room away from the road. The room was tidy and the bed was clean and comfortable. The shower was an over the bath hand shower. Not the best if your in a hurry but the bath ran quickly and was plenty big enough. The breakfast was simple and hot. The cereal and fruit was simple and there was plenty of juice. The cooked option was any variation of the full English with eggs cooked however you like. The staff were lovely. They were attentive and always friendly. For the price this is a good stay. Hence 5 star for overall.

Friendly staff, great Victorian bedroom, excellent food and drink, good prices. On-site parking and handy for Town & train station. Walsall itself was a bit run down, and not many pubs / restaurants open later in the evening - Friday night stay to go to Villa Park concert.

Although lived in Walsall for many years and I don't remember going into the Lyndon House. Me, my brothers and partners met up for a meal and were pleasantly surprised. If you want good pub food and really nice beers, then this is the place for you. We had a really good time and will visit again

The service was really awesome there. I was just a guest at the bar as I was waiting for a friend coming back from his room. Really nice people there, and it was super nice to taste the beers before ordering! Thanks for that!

Nice place, stayed there previously overnight. Only minor detail is there should be an automatic light from the downhill car park, as you walk up the hill towards the entrance.

Arrived early to a lovely woman called Tracey! She was very quick in trying to see if we could book in early due to the party attending a wedding that day. She was polite, efficient and ready to help. The pub is lovely with not too expensive prices. The food is absolutely gorgeous and the breakfast was unbelievable. Will be coming back to this hotel every time when visiting my friends from Walsall

Really excellent service from the server called Georgia, very warm, welcoming and genuine. Food is amazing value for money as well, well worth a visit! The pub has a cosy traditional feel to it as well which is hard to come by these days.

Booked a room, also booked a parking space, when I arrived I was told I had to park my car in a different car park which is open to any Un desirable person to steal, scratch, damage. I told the lady on reception I had booked a car parking space to which I got a shrug of the shoulders and told to move my car even though it was parked safe and other people could get in and out, the last time I stayed here there was a white van parked where I parked and the driver was one of the staff. I’ve stayed here a few times but will never stay again, I checked out as I needed to know my car was safe. As for the lady on reception all I can say is extremely poor, now I know why there’s always empty rooms.

Went yesterday with two friends for sunday lunch (carvery) Absolutely fantastic. The service was impeccable, food, delicious and fresh. 3 meals & drinks for less than £40 we were also very impressed with the decor & cleanliness of the place. Will definitely be returning. 5 stars from me 👍

Been a few times for karaoke on a sunday afternoon. Great karaoke host. Staff are good. Drinks are a little more expensive but helps keep the riff raff out. Great atmosphere, nice bunch of customers

Popped in to meet friends for a drink. Quiet but cosy atmosphere. Drinks reasonably priced, service with a smile. If you want a low key evening with out loud in your face clientele this is your place

Frequently visit Lyndon House and always greeted with a warm welcome from all staff. This is a great friendly pub with loads of character. The beer is always great and so is the service.

Amazing, individually cooked breakfast, good coffee, friendly staff. Unique room. Could have done with plugs closer to bed and a side table Found my keys that I left behind

Place needs to be modernised. That is already planned. Staff is doing the best they can to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. Bit noisy above the pub. Breakfast is really good. One wouldn't leave there with an empty stomach.

Superb beer in a traditional setting, good parking near by, great bar service, friendly and welcoming. I took some French visitors for a "proper" British pub experience, it was perfect.

Loved this quaint little hotel. Lived in walsall over 30 years and never knew it was here. Stayed for a night for a treat and loved it. Old fashioned rooms, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and a lovely bathroom. Best bit is the breakfast next morning. Excellent food, lots of it and great staff. Would staff again in a heartbeat

An excellent three night stay. The pub has great beer and decent, if basic food. The (included) breakfast was superb value and set us up for the day. The rooms was fine if a little tired decor-wise. What really makes this hotel stand out are the exceptional staff. They are welcoming, friendly and it really made the stay pleasurable. I note that it has fairly recently been taken over by a pub co (Red Cat). I hope they realise what a fantastic asset they have in their employees and that they look after them properly.

Old fashioned decor but in good decorative condition, what makes this place exceptional is the friendly staff, I felt instantly comfortable. Amazing breakfast, comfy bed and good location, ill definitely stay there again.

A very quirky hotel with some history. Bed very comfortable and room suitable. The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. (Georgia, kay and leora) full English breakfast included very good quality. Our stay was perect, definitely recommend 👌 ☆☆☆☆☆

I really enjoyed my stay here, the rooms are really oldy worldy which I adore, nice and clean and food was decent. The bed was so cosy and I had a great sleep! Parking was a bit of a nightmare for us.

Great value, rooms are a bit tired but clean. Clean comfy 4 poster bed, large bath with plenty of hot water. Amazing good quality freshly cooked breakfast. Lovely bar area. Friendly helpful staff.

  • 3/5 Iain T. 1 year ago on Google
Friendly staff, clean but room was a bit dated. There are plans in place to refurbish the rooms next year which will be welcome. Couldn't really complain as the price was very reasonable. Car park is a bit of a pain, have to be quick to find a space.

  • 4/5 Rebecca A. 1 year ago on Google
Bathrooms need updating, no problem with original features and antique basins etc, but unhygienic shower screens, lime scaled, fixtures and fittings let the room down. Service was amazing, staff were friendly. Breakfast was good, coffee was too cool. Meat was good quality. Not much of a selection of continental available. Left adequately fed though, portions were generous.

I wanted to show my step grandson what good table manners were required when eating in a restaurant so decided to bring him for Sunday lunch today. However, apart from a lovely welcome from your staff, the lunch was very disappointing. Overcooked carrots, dry peas, tough beef, poor roast and mashed potatoes, not home cooked gravy, cauliflower and cheese( rubbery.). In fact the only thing we liked were Yorkshire pudding. So sorry to have to send this.
