An amazing place for a day trip with your family or friends. The color of the water, mountains and sky makes it close to heaven. Easy to reach, not very far from Munich. It’s actually close to the boarder of Austria. If you go there, hopfensee and Lechfall is also recommended to visit. Hopfensee: specially for the sunset. Overall, it’s one of the most beautiful view I have ever seen in Bavaria till now.

Absolutely stunning on a clear day. The water has an interesting color. Castle Neuschwanstein is visible across the water, and against the backdrop of Tegelberg mountain.

Very nice place with a great view of Alps.. Recommended for a nice walk around the lake during winter time and obviously to swim during summer time 🏔 🌊

Lake Forggensee is a large body of water, serene, clean and shining blue. On a mild fall afternoon, we walked from Fussen downtown to the lakefront. We took a boat trip and it was a nice relaxing way to enjoy nature and get distant glimpses of the Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles, and the Alpine mountain peaks. There are hotel accommodations with lakeview. Efficient bus transport back to Fussen.

Staying in Fussen is perfect to see the lake and cycle round it and also cycle to the castles. Very close from Fussen , which is a beautiful little town by the way. Gorgeous in fact. Really is heaven on Earth here. I don't want to leave!!!!
