THIS IS NOT AN URGENT CARE. - PLEASE READ TO SAVE YOU HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS! Despite being labeled as such, it operates as an ‘outpatient urgent care’, leading to hospital-level charges. The billing department's lack of clarity and evasive responses left me frustrated. Attempting to understand their justification for hospital-level fees, I was met with ambiguity, emphasizing that, despite offering urgent care services, Med-Stops are not classified as an urgent care. Avoid Houston Care Medical altogether, they’re unprofessional, deceitful, and don’t care about their patients at all. This tiny building does not offer anything other than urgent care services not hospital level treatment. We were not charged a co-pay upon arrival as it was “late and they were shutting down the computers”. Mind you it was only 7pm and they close at 9pm. Went for a Covid/flu test and later was billed as if I were dying in a hospital. What a joke.

The absolute BEST med-stop/emergency room here in Middle Georgia. I am always in and out when I go here and they actually take the time to make sure you're ok meaning they'll take the needed tests to rule everything out before giving a diagnosis. Most med stops check for flu/covid/strep and then if those are negative they send you home with a viral infection! This doctor made sure to do a chest xray and everything and found out I had pneumonia. They are extremely friendly and caring. I will forever come here when needed.

I had a great experience here when I needed to see the doctor for a sinus infection. The two nurses that helped me were terrific! They were sincere and doing their jobs for more than just a paycheck. I want to give a BIG PRAISE to the young doctor that helped me! Her name is Doctor Ashley Norman. I really like her energy and enthusiasm! She is a very sincere doctor who is there to help you in any way that she can! I wish her a lot of prosperity in her career in medicine : )

So I have been here about 4 times through 2 years. My spouse has been here twice. We have had nothing but great experiences from here. Everyone who reviews this place that doesn't get what they want will 1-star this place. When it could have just been a bad day, so you can give a 3-star review. Since they were not waited on hand and foot, they give a 1-star. You have to realize this is URGENT care, not the ER, and not your primary doctor. It is to mitigate your issue temporarily at times. They don't have all your history like your primary team. So chill out and stop being petty. Listen, this place gets packed at times. Deal with it, there are a lot of sick people or injured at times. These people try to get you seen and do their best. Just like you they have mistakes, so chill.

First time here and it was a great experience. I saw Kelly and she (and the rest of the staff) were all fantastic! Very quick (less than an hour) and the Publix behind them was very convenient.

Cannot praise the staff here enough! Registration was swift and all the work done was turned around quickly. Dr. Norman is the best! Coolest bedside manner of any doctor I can remember going to.

On 12.10.23: I visited this med stop and my entire visit and experience here was beyond impeccable. From the person who registered me who was named Avery, he was such a kind, patient and highly professional young man. He made me feel like part of the family. My nurse who took my vitals name was Verna, she was very professional, super calm putting me at much ease. She had the most generous words of comfort which was very much needed because I was not feeling well. My assigned Dr was Dr. Jacinta Tran. I can't say enough about her- super sweet, kind, very caring! I was in and out in no time. This facility in my personal opinion tops them all! The staff were helpful to me, understanding, they listened, they took their time to help me be at ease as much as possible, what also was a huge comfort 2 me was I observed multiple cans of lysol, hand sanitizers wipes, etc all throughout the facility in plain view and this was a plus no doubt for me. I am glad I selected this medstop vs any others. Added note: I reside in Macon, GA but this one is in network for my insurance and they are a whole lot better than any of the medstops in Macon, GA. I'm so happy I decided to visit this location. Continue to keep up the superb work!

Asked for Test Results for labs and they where not ready. I then stated my worsening Symptoms and asked if a Doctor there could write me a prescription for Antibiotics. I was told No and to go to Emergency room which happens to be a part of Houston Healthcare. Sounds like this place is a Funnel machine to Bill Insurance once there and then again at the Primary Facility. Was voicing my concerns and was hung up on in middle of Conversation. I guess Weekend Pay isn't that great for Customer Service to be good. Avoid this Place. Wouldn't let me give negative Stars on Review.

I am so disappointed in this facility... My daughter took my God daughter up here to get her 5 month year old son treated on the pediatric side for a severe cough, congestion, runny nose, obviously pain because he wouldn't stop crying. They were taken back in a timely manner only to be told the baby had a cold and needed Tylenol. Are you serious??? They ran test for Flu and Covid. Both test were negative. So, I had them to go to Pediatric Care around the corner which is where they should have went from the beginning only to find out that the baby had Flu A which is extremely dangerous for an adult better yet a 5 month baby if untreated. Pediatric Care prescribed him Tamiflu which Lake Joy Med Stop claimed they couldn't prescribe. Can you imagine how devastating this could have been had not we got a second opinion and just took their word and took him home and gave him Tylenol like they suggested. What are you guys getting paid for? To just falsely diagnose and give hard working citizens a bill for walking in your facility. 😡

AVOID! Received a bill for $225.00 seven months after a visit to treat a migraine headache. As another reviewer mentioned, this place bills insurance as if it's an outpatient urgent care facility. Safe to say we will never return. And I have federal employee insurance.

Most of the time I was there was good but the nurse that takes yours vitals was very rude. While I was sitting there with a bag up to my mouth she just kept saying I need to do another swab. Didn't even wait or make sure I was ok she just kept insisting and looking at her watch.
