Sept 2021 update - I love what this place used to be. I know covid caused many places to change, so I understand why there's no more buffet. The food was still good, so that's why I came back. The owner is a great guy. When the owner is there is been pretty good. When he's not there my last two trips to Okc cajun king were terrible. Food was decent, but the customer service was inexcusable. Non-chalant attitude, didn't check my drink, and my food order was wrong....I asked for chicken and blackened pork chops, but recieved chicken and shrimp. I still visit okc all the time and eat out, but this type of thing makes me wanna avoid coming here. 👪🏾 Been coming since day 1

Been coming here for years! Best Cajun food in the area. Fried catfish, tilapia, and frog legs are all delicious. I miss the buffet, but I'll definitely be back again to finish off the menu.

It was better when it was a buffet, but the food is still great. Friendly staff always seem happy. The cat fish and sauce it comes with is some of the best in OKC

I started coming here about 4 years ago. At that point in time they were set up in a buffet style. Due to the last couple of years they have gone away from the buffet and now have a wonderful menu with a multitude of combinations. The food is always delicious and the employees are amazing!

Food selection was reduced compared to before. Food is no longer on the buffet cart but on table set up in a convention style buffet with candles used as heat source. Opens at 11. We got there at 11:30 and food was not warm or hot. Price for lunch is $17.99 with no pork chop, pasta or dessert (except for sweet yam...which I didn't touch). The fried fish strips took forever to come. Overall, definitely not the old Cajun king and very pricey for what you get. I had taken my coworkers there for lunch and was embarrassed with my choice. Sadly, I have to say I will not be back. I hate to leave negative review as this could hurt this place but at the same time, I felt ripped off. Hopefully, others will disagree with my assessment.

Great Cajun food all around, it almost makes me feel like I am back in New Orleans. The waitresses even remembered our names and made us feel like we were at mamma's house on Sunday afternoon.

First off, the original owner, chef and the same main server I've always known are still there and greeted me with hugs and smiles like I was an old friend after not seeing me for several months. Now about the food. ..The fish and shrimp were and are always fresh and well-seasoned. I love the unique way they prepare fried catfish (in thin strips with a honey mustard aoli sauce vs thick fillets with hot sauce and tarter fish). The homemade bread pudding with the absolutely delicious, sweet, buttery sauce that adds grandma's baking-type goodness to this dessert. And let's not forget how delicious the crab cakes, hush puppies, and especially the beignets are (beignets not in these pics but I've eaten them several times before). Plus see my strawberry lemonade? Their drink size is super generous to ensure your thirst is quenched.

A few years ago this was a favorite of mine so when I found out that they brought back the buffet I had to go back and give it a try. So glad I did! Food was great and I love the fried shrimp. I hope he will bring back bread pudding soon too!

Look... I know I usually post the best photos I can but the food was so good I said grace while eating and had nothing to show for it but these photos. GO in and get something, it'll be worth it! I ordered the catfish and my date had the blackened pork chop, with gumbo. Both amazing.

The catfish was delicious as usual. I was in a hurry so we did call ahead and picked it up quickly. I leave happy every time.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in OKC! Been coming here for years and I have never had a bad experience. A lot of the negative reviews mention the staff and that is really hard for me to buy! They have been nothing but welcoming and lovely to my family and I for years. Not to mention the food!! They have a wide range of options and it is always delicious. I moved away from Oklahoma and make it a point every time I visit to hit Cajun King! Can’t recommend it enough :)

A short trip to Warr Acres can satisfy your Big Easy cravings. Serving soul-full creole entrees with all the effervescent charm and ingenious spicing one expects when dining in the Caribbean Islands, in fact, Cajun King exceeds that standard. The atmosphere is engaging and the food, beyond exquisitely delicious, it is absolutely loving and comfortable.

Terrible service. The place was completely empty and the waitress acted like it was a chore to talk to us, let alone serve us. Curt, dismissive, and rolled her eyes when we asked her simple questions. Though transparent about it, there were several up charges so that our originally inexpensive lunch became not so. Switching sides, changing something from fried to grilled, and extra sauce all came with up charges of 3.99 or more. Definitely don’t come to this place, the food was not worth the trouble and the price. Hope you learned from my mistake!

I was so disappointed this last time my family and I went in to eat. My dad came from out of town and was super excited to eat at this spot. I am Cajun. My hometown is Lafayette, Louisiana and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. The food was okay. The frog legs had too much seasoning on them. I like my food with some kick but that was ridiculous. And the waitress was very cold, very uninviting, unfriendly and never checked to see any drink refills. I pride myself on being southern, hospitable, and friendly... Cajun! Most people I grew up with and know from back home are the kindest and friendliest people you will ever meet! I cant say that about this waitress. I will not be return. The quality of food went down and there is no buffet! Thats why we went! Save yourself sometime and effort. Go to the Cajun Corner instead. Friendly people great food and atmosphere.

This restaurant has earned my one and only five star review. Been going for over a decade and they have always been exceptional. Family took me out tonight for my birthday, which I try to do anually as a tradition. They've been gushing about it since. Everything is genuine here, from the staff and atmosphere to their outstanding food. Much love to the wonderful members of Cajun King for always delivering my favorite meal of the year!

Sooo, I have mixed feeling about my experience there. I had the fried chicken, well that’s what I went there for, I found them in my search on google. I also ordered crab cakes and a beignet which they didn’t have. I asked for my chicken to be fried hard, the cook delivered on that but he also fried the crab cake and hush puppy, I substituted for the beignet too hard, it was burnt, I couldn’t even eat it. I just opened the crab cake and ate the filling. The sweet Tea was good. I ended up dining in just because I wanted to sit and enjoy my chicken and savor my hankering but that didn’t happen. The chicken was not seasoned. He fried it, and hard as I requested then added a season on the cooked chicken. Ummmm no! It was a light season too. Speaking for me, it was not tasty! I wasn’t offered any sauce for crab cakes or the hush puppies. Idk. Maybe if I’m over there again, I may consider trying it out. It’s possible.

Much better as a buffet. Loved their crawfish etoufee, but with the price per bowl at about 14 bucks now I would have expected much more meat. It was mostly just juice. Thinking they are not doing well as a business due to the small cup of soup and larger price. They can do better for sure

It was a very hot day and was also hot in the restaurant. Wait staff not very friendly Just pointed to our seats. I ordered catfish fries which came together and coleslaw as a side order. Catfish was good but came as catfish pencils and not much meat. I did get quite a few but not much meat. Slaw was awesome when I mixed a side of the sweet sauce in it! I highly recommend doing this. My partner had a mixed basket which didn't come with a side. The fried shrimp was top notch...

OK. This place is absolutely amazing, I’ve been going there since I was a child when they had a buffet, and they will always continue to amaze me with all of their food. I had tried the crab cake (which if you’ve ever had a good one you know the others will never taste the same), Mac and cheese, catfish with the most delicious side sauce I’ve ever had which complimented it very well. All of their food completely demolishes every restaurant I have ever been to, and don’t even get me started on the frog legs, I love them, normally I would be horrified. But if you ever need to assert your dominance after your pet frog does something bad, well then I have the best place for you if you ever want to try some. Now onto the customer service; I will 100% be getting my food from here from now on, they were extremely friendly and I am happy to say that this is definitely the best place to go to for any celebration, or just to try something new. One of the chefs came out after we were done eating and we got free drinks, me personally I love strawberry lemonade and I can never make it right or find the right place to get it from because it always burns my throat or it’s too sweet. Now this place, it takes the cake, not even a cake at this point they deserve a trophy. The texture of it was amazing and I didn’t have to worry about seeds or pulp getting stuck in my teeth whatsoever. It didn’t burn my throat nor was it too sweet, it caught me completely off guard and I was very happy with the little surprise. So I am very satisfied with my experience here and with these amazing people, they truly have well earned skill and I am proud to admit that this will be the highlight of my life.

I’ve been doing Door Dash deliveries from here all the time and I was always impressed that my orders were always ready and the kitchen looked clean and well organized. I was hesitant to eat here because the prices were pretty low. I finally came with 3 friends and it was excellent. My favorite thing was the Loaded Crawfish Fries!!! Everything was just fresh and tasty, service was friendly and attentive.

Today was my first time eating here. The food is absolutely amazing! I will definitely be going back to eat there again soon. Service was great. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend it to anyone who likes Cajun style food!

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!! I've been coming here for years and somehow it's better every time. The catfish strips are the best I have *ever* had in my life, the collard greens are cooked to perfection, the crawfish Étouffée is heavenly, and this is the only place I've had authentic beignets in this state. The staff are great, and the chef is incredibly sweet. Your stomach and soul will be full when you leave here. 🙌

The food is so good , I love it! The chef who I think is the owner, is very nice! He Always comes out and asks how things are. More so than the servers do. The waitresses have been the same 2 ladies every time we come.we’ve had both of them. The older waitress is alright. The younger one is SO rude! Very short with us and not friendly. She didn’t serve us tonight but as it came close to closing time, she rushed us out the door. Literally stood over me to pay my bill as I tried finishing the rest of my food which was like a couple of bites. When I told her to hold on that I’m still eating, She left for a couple seconds and came right back. Rushing for me to pay my bill, Disrespectful! The service Really puts a damper on things. I gave 4 out of 5 just because the owner and the food.

I've been a loyal patron of Cajun King for over 8 years, and their quality never wavers. While they transitioned from buffet to menu-style due to Covid, the impeccable food and service remain consistent. Their catfish is a must-try—veteran diners might recall them bringing it directly to the table pre-Covid! And don't get me started on their frog legs; they're simply the best I've ever had. Drop by and give them a taste. And when you do, mention Myke sent you!

Normally pretty good food. Unfortunately, the last time I went, will be the last time.. they were out of most of the foods I wanted. They acted is if I was speaking in a different language..told me I was confusing 😕 (because I had to rethink my order cause they were out of food)but even then I was only getting 2 dinners one fish one chicken period...I finally get my food home and it is covered in salt for 1 half and the filled with butter.. Normally it is not that way but the combination of problems, totally not worth it.

My Brother and Sister in law brought me here about 8 years ago, when I was visiting from Dallas. This week I've been seeing all the good food on television since it's Mardi Gras time. Been Craving A Taste of New Orleans. 🎹🎼🎻🎺🎷🎸🎠🎭So I called my Sister and ask her what was the name of the place. She said Cajun King. Yasssss! So after work I called in the catfish, shrimp, greens, black-eyed peas. And had to have the Beignets. Everything is absolutely Delicious. 😋 Love the flavor. Awesome New Orleans Taste. The Staff is so kind and professional. I definitely will be going back. I'm extremely appreciative. Thanks a Million. Peace, Love and Abundance Blessings💜❤🖤💚😍

The food was trash compared to me first going to eat here years ago!! It had to have been sitting there all day and the price is too high for the quality and selections that you have to choose from on the buffet !!!Nothing on that buffet was good!!! Even the pink lemonade was trash!! The waitress was rude and it was hot as hell in the restaurant.I had to ask to have the fans turned on. It was just very ,devastatingly not good….besides the catfish.. which doesn’t even taste like catfish! Then the owner had the nerve to tell us it would be better next time!!! WTH…ain’t no next time!!! Go elsewhere!!!! I would love a refund!!!! 😒🫤
