Having not been to Pizza Express in over five years, we thought we would give it a go. We came on a Monday evening around 5ish when the restaurant had around four other tables seated. Service was beyond poor- completely lacking attentiveness or friendliness from what I guess was management (individual in own clothing). I must add there was a young girl serving however who was very pleasant and is not to be included in this. Unfortunately, she was not our main server. Considering there were very few other people in the restaurant, the time it took for our food to arrive was incredibly slow and poor. The food itself was mediocre at best. Portions were incredibly small for their extortionate pricing and the majority of things we ate tasted as though they had been recently defrosted and heated up. I was blown away on receiving a £6.45 garlic bread smaller than the palm of my hand! My boyfriend ordered the £18.45 calabrese pizza with added chicken and received a pizza smothered in rocket, clearly hiding the lack of any substantial toppings. Despite costing near £20 the pizza tasted no better than a cheap supermarket frozen pizza. I recommend if you’re looking for tasty pizza, with good service, a great atmosphere and reasonable prices in Stockton Heath, steer clear of Pizza Express and head to Rudy’s across the road instead!

Wonderful food and great drinks selection but slightly let down by the layout, it's almost impossible to move away from your table without bumping into other diners. KFC and McDonald's offer more space per table to give that context.

Booked for 6pm to celebrate my grandsons 5th birthday. We waited 45 minutes for food. It was too late to order a desert as we had waited so long. The priority seemed to be on the delivery orders going out. This is in full view of paying customers. The waitress was very impolite bordering on rude. Shocking service. Would not recommend

Went for a meal this evening, had to wait by the door for 5 minutes before even being seated, the staff members were just acting like we weren’t even around at first. The place only had around 4 tables in. Once we got seated our waitress was great served us quickly and food came out quick within 15 minutes. The other staff members just seemed to have been lounging around and when a family came in to ask if they had to book or if they can just have a table for them they got turned away to say they haven’t got availability. It was frustrating because the place was empty almost and there was plenty of seating around. Around us when people started to leave it took the staff over 30minutes to start clearing tables and clearing and cleaning them which isn’t acceptable considering COVID and that the place wasn’t even busy. Also none of the staff were wearing masks at all and it felt quite unsafe as the cases are currently rising. The best part was the quality of food, I personally think that the staff need to be more on the ball and to also be COVID safe. I will not return until I know things have changed.

I came from Germany and visited my friend in Warrington . We came as a big family group with friends . To be honest the food was really great and so far that was the best Pizza Express food I could get in my life . But unfortunately , the service was really bad and somehow I felt uncomfortable as a foreigner there . The server was very rude to us and I had the feeling that our table was not welcomed . I observed there were 2 Asian looking people working in the kitchen and that server was very crude to them . It created a very unpleasant feeling for me to be there . The kitchen is an open kitchen and of cause everybody saw the interactions amount the colleagues in the restaurant . I am sure that Warrington is a very diverse town and people are very friendly and open minded and I was shocked about the attitude of this server . I hope to see the improvement in this restaurant as I believe the world is no more a place for unfairness .

Very slow food service. 45 minute wait for Pizza! The staff did not seems to know what was going on or how long we had been waiting for our food. The food was ok when it arrived. The manager was 'almost' rude and not at all engaging. Its not cheap and its certainly not cheerful!! Not a great experience and not one that I will be trying again.

Delicious food with great service from really friendly staff, particularly Liv and her colleague whose name I didn’t get unfortunately. Thanks so much! Will be visiting again soon.

We took 40 students on a rewards trip for lunch. The manager Phil, was extremely accommodating and made sure that students had a great time. Nothing was too much trouble, food and service was excellent. Thank you Phil and the team for a lovely afternoon.

Absolute farce! A big group of school kids were leaving primary school and we all put our choices in the previous day. My son had the kids menu and I was charged for a large pizza. When I queried it I was told he had an adult meal. I went over to the table and the kids all said no, he had the kids. The difference in price was almost double! I then had to wait while I explained it to the server who agreed, and the manager. She then went into the back and I had to wait over 10 minutes and go in twice while she was on the phone to explain I couldn’t wait any longer as I had to get home to the baby and 3 kids were waiting… it was ridiculous. They’d left a new manager in charge with no authority. She took my number and I waited for a call as she said she would refund me in FULL. I rang the next day and was told I was refunded the difference. Not good customer service at all… ruined what should have been a lovely occasion

Wanted to post on here as the service we had from the team was exceptional last night, we popped in for a family meal after our daughter had received her A-Level results. Beyond doing a sterling job in serving us (and helping us 'digital nitwits' to apply our tesco clubcard vouchers), they both took the time to talk to our daughter about her results and what she had planned etc, and offered up a load of genuinely helpful post-A-level advice, which was gratefully received. They were engaging, good fun, and couldn't do enough to help. Frustratingly we didn't get their names, but they're a credit to the the company, a credit to themselves, and turned a 'nip out for a pizza' night into a really lovely experience. I hope this review filters through to them. Food was great as always, by the way!

Visited 2/5/23 To say the service was poor was an understatement,( we were a table of 4 ) The special menu was misleading and we were told we couldn’t have the classic pizzas on the Coronation menu which was clearly stated that you could online and on the menu given . The Food was lovely. The main issue was with the service, we wanted to order desserts but just never got asked , we asked her to clear away our starter plates as the mains were literally being put on the table. The restaurant wasn’t busy , we ended up paying our bill online as we couldn’t even get a member of staff over.

Absolutely shocking. Waited 1.5 hours for starters and then when asking the manager what was taking so long he said it was the order was so big. We did have a large table but we could ld have grown and grout the flour by time the food arrived. The manager stood there arguing with me rather than just sorting the issue out. The Chinese we had was lovely and arrived 16 minutes after ordering at home.

We had a great time at this restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. Our kids enjoyed their meals as well. We especially recommend the BBQ Burns End Pizza, which had a crispy crust and smoky flavor, and the Carbonara Pasta, which was creamy and rich. This is a perfect place for a family dinner or a casual date night. We will definitely come back again.

Some Pizza Express are terrible, this is the exception, staff were brilliant, menu offers gluten free options. Try the ricotta and date desert, it's awesome. Only thing is that many pizzas had smoked veg/meat. I can't eat smoked food due to allergy so my choice was limited a little.

This is our local Pizza Express and we go here often as it's my daughter's favourite restaurant. The food is good but recently the quality of service has dipped. The current staff are disengaged and unwelcoming. Such a shame...

Really nice staff, however not good value for money. 600ml bottle of beer for £7.00 is ridiculous. You just leave with a feeling that you’ll never return.

We had a wonderful lunchtime in here and was given a very warm welcome by Pitty and Eszter. The service was excellent and the food was fabulous. Highly recommend a pizza called BBQ Burnt Ends, Carbonara and the Lemon & Herb Chicken Wings. We definitely will come back again.
